This is now one of my dream schools after just one tour. I had an amazing experience and cant wait to apply! I loved the landscaping and all the buildings. It was even more amazing when I noticed all the maintenance involved and construction going on to make it an even more amazing campus than it already is.

Emory is an amazing university. . My daughter attends and I cannot say enough about how wonderful it is. Her experience has been the best on every level. She has grown exponentially. Im so glad she chose to attend this esteemed school. If you are considering a top tier school do yourself a favor and visit Emory. My daughter just might be your tour guide.

I graduated from Emory in 2010 and can say, without any reservations, that I received a great education from the institution.Generally, the professors were brilliant and accomplished and made time for their students. Great selection of classes. The facilities were top-notch, including the dormitories (definitely better than at some of the Ivies) and the library has a ton of volumes. The endowment, though hit hard by the Crisis, still makes anything possible, really. I made use of all of these resources to go on to attend Harvard Law, for which Emory more than adequately prepared me.Additionally, they have one of the best financial aid programs in the nation (Emory Advantage), such that, if youve got the academic credentials and the personality, theres no impediment to attending. Emory Advantage made it possible, for example, for me to attend. The campus is beautiful. And Atlanta is a pretty awesome city.5 stars.

Great school located in a wonderful neighborhood. Would highly recommend students check it out to pursue either their undergraduate or graduate level degree. Very supportive faculty and staff and beautiful facilities. Definitely a gem in Atlanta.Only downside is the recent change/elimination of some academic majors. Would recommend keeping more liberal arts programs.

Emory is a joke! They keep posting the same jobs up on indeed and linkedin but don’t even hire for those specific positions. Your application will be pending for months! It is so ridiculous! They don’t even have a Hiring Manager to contact about the status of your application. Just a waste of time don’t bother!

I tried to post a job to help students become a part time or full time IT Technician, we would train them to make a little money and have a more enriched live as the went to school. But in there wisdom they prefer broke students or students with no income. They denied the posting. Really???? Now that is scary. At least we tried to help the students get ahead. Good luck to any students that want to go here.

Emory has an Atlanta zipcode but it is actually not in the city. It has minimal transport to the city. It also claims to be a liberal arts school but thats only if you come for a specific science or business track. Many arts, languages, and humanities departments have been defunded. The money goes to the stronger areas of the school according to the last dean of the college. Would not recommend for arts careers.

A top 20 school of relatively good education and student body among the top 30 schools. Emory has never been placed in my ideal top 20 college list simply because of its high acceptance rate, relative to that of other top 20 or top 25 universities. The fraud of providing false data to US News to boost its rank would leave an inerasable spot on Emorys history. The recent Trump incident further proves the relatively low quality of the Emory student body. Medical center wise, Emory does a horrible job on treating its patients but still gains its reputation through research, which is quite absurd to me. Afterall, without CocaColas large donation, Emory could never reach the altitude where it is regarded now. Please work on the development of the school carefully. Prestige cant be built within decades but can be easily ruined in a matter of minutes.

Hi I am alumina from Emory and have gone on to Cornell Veterinary School. This University is not just taking your money like the past reviews have noted. This is a school that is highly praised through the scientific studies and student achievements. Sure if a bad review can saw they have a watered down academics so they can achieve As than why have they all preserved? The medical program has lead to students going into Harvard and Yale. Also this University has world renowned scholars and professors. Do you really think there just going to let the students get an easy A? Especially since the students reflect on their reputation? This school is creating more campuses efficiently renovating dorms for campus living and have achieved more in three years than Dartmouth and Norte Dame. So anyone who writes a terrible review on this school is just doing so without thinking through or actually being a student at the school. Do not trust just anyones opinion. I can compare my experience to my older sisters who went to CNU. They have the best dorms in the USA and are a school for business and political majors. Both schools are ranked well and have high standards. The difference is the dorms at mine might not be 1# but they do accommodate to everyones needs and have amenities on top of the essentials. Emory though is a University that has small numbers and this means that when you go here your chances of getting to the Graduate School are 99% also the are not pushing for sports scholarships so students can have a well rounded educational, social and active life. Emory also is not like other schools that pour money into the sports. They have no wonderful winning football team to take all the money or a need to become a super, we love sports and will put that over everything. They respect balance.Last is the incident that happened the veterans and the boys disrespecting them is a shameful incident for Emory. But you cannot blame the SCHOOL! The boys yes, not the school. Trust me I was there when this was going on and the school did punish them. Our Constitution allows for the boys to have full privacy for there part taking in the event. The school had no right but to obey there respects on this matter. Now I hope I have been able to discredit any and all bad reviews to this school if you have any questions I will be happy to answer you.

I have been to the ER twice. Once for kidney stones, once for a tear in the lining around my brain. Both times I went bc it was the closest hospital to me. Both times I regretted not going somewhere else. I will never step foot in this hospital again if I can help it. They made me an appointment 12 days out but only gave me meds for 4 days. They refused to call in a refill. They said if i wanted a refill I had to check back into the ER and pay another ER visit co-pay. These people are only interested in money, not in healing. Also Charles says anyone who writes a bad review for Emory is an internet crazy. He probably works there. Its called an opinion, jerk.

As great place to host the State Special Olympics, Emory is a wonderful place that suits the needs of this event. Being a high school student which is about to graduate high school, I am looking for a college which will give the best life experiences and potential. This place has great dorms and, overall, a modern architecture that is interesting to the eye and does not leave my imagination to boredom. But instead if just being here for a college visit, I decided to stay for a couple of days and realized flaws which leave me in distaste to the point of not recommending this college. Reasons are: The curriculum seems to be very beginner-like with classes and courses that I have taken as a regular high school classes. Also, eating the food for three days was the worst experience. Everyday it was poor quality food with hardly any taste which brought dissatisfaction to me and my friends at Emory. From the outside it looks very well put together, but in reality, it is just an easy way to get a degree and not be prepared for the real world in the future.

I understand that this is a medical school, but I dont understand how the patient-care side of this organization stays in business. I have had really bad experiences in multiple areas. The OB/GYN had the worst bed-side manner you can imagine - I left crying. I went to the orthopedic center and they lost my appointment. Another time the scheduler sent me to the wrong location. My friend went and after they told her she was probably dying of cancer, they never delivered her test results or recommended a treatment - after 2 months! She finally went elsewhere and were told they had to start treatment immediately. Go somewhere else.

Emory University seems like a great school, but in reality, it is poorly equipped in resources and in my opinion, a waste of money. For example, the University invested lots of money in Macintosh computers—80% of the computers on campus are Macs. However, these computers lack even the most basic of software. There are only ~6 computers on campus with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop); ~2 computers with Matlab; zero computers equipped with basic computer programming languages (Java/C++). The research facilities are very poorly equipped, and many of the supply stockrooms on campus carry expired chemicals. The University really needs to invest more in LEARNING and less in AESTHETICS. However, students enjoy Emory a lot because the coursework is relatively easy and the atmosphere is really laid-back. I overheard one student saying she was only taking “3 classes this semester and one of them is YOGA.” Spend $36,000 a year to learn Yoga? You only need to study about 3 hours for a test to get an A. But Emory students also don’t learn anything useful for the REAL WORLD.

Review №51

I cant speak about the hospital, but the College is top-notch. As an undergraduate, I have learned new skills side by side renowned professors. I have no idea what Alison TK was talking about; perhaps her review was outdated, but as a math minor Ive used Matlab on many Emory pcs and as a psych major Ive had the opportunity to assist in research using state-of-the-art technology, including a brand-new fMRI machine. Maybe she was looking in the wrong places, but I can assure you that the computers in the Math/Sci building have software for every programming language. As for the coursework, its very intense, with most students taking 5 classes under our new credit system. The teachers are generally very supportive however, and there are lots of resources available if you need help.Like many universities, your Emory experience will be what you make of it. But with ample resources, a caring faculty, and (most of all) a diverse and passionate student body, Emory has exceeded my expectations as a university.

Apparently, Emory University does not take allegations of gross misconduct on the part of their students seriously. The Zeta Beta Tau chapter at Emory University has been accused on spitting, and dumping beer on wounded veterans and their service dogs while they were on a retreat in Florida, along with the University of Florida Chapter. Accusations include urinating on the American flag. The University of Florida, as well as the UF chapter of Zeta Beta Tau have responded to these accusations, indicating they take these charges very seriously, however no response has yet been received from Emory University.
