Early in the School year of 1993-1994 I had just changed schools and Washington Elementary School (Auburn #408) threatened my mother with expulsion if I was not placed on Ritalin. This was done as the school had just won the Blue Ribbon label of recognition. Ritalin and Adderall amongst others are a pharmaceutical grade amphetamine. Im not sure about the commissions or motives of the decision to do this to their students but your childs biology is not the issue. If this review helps you stand your ground and understand that your child has a gift then it has served its purpose. Education is captivating and for those of us who are motivated it was a serious letdown. Unfortunately because of a loophole created by the drug companies taking action is difficult. This is the first step!
