I come back for waxing and it’s really nice that the esti’s will talk with you as well as their instructor(s) who come to check on everything. Autumn was really sweet, made sure My skin was all hair free and clean of residual wax.Helping the students learn to work with clients and feel confident as well as getting great services at a fair cost is a good thing!Thank you Autumn and Miss Tiffany!

This was my first time having any color in my hair and bleaching it, and Juansa made this experience so exciting and I am in love with the results… now I’m ready for fall!!! I am flaunting this color and absolutely loving it!

Samantha did my color! The school didn’t have the exact color I wanted but Sam went above and beyond . She work tenaciously to create the color I desired! I had my daughters hair done there and this was the first time her hair has ever even been cut. She is in love with it it was professional and they valued her (we did this for her 13th birthday) opinion as well as mine. While yes the people that were working on her were students they were competent in their knowledge and knew how to make me and their client who was my child completely happy. Because of how my child was treated there she even now has an interest in the beauty industry.

My first facial ever was with Patti Teeuwen. I was a bit nervous but had an amazing experience with Patti, who kept me comfortable. She explained to me what she was doing and educated me on how to care for my skin. My skin can be sensitive and has a mind of its own, but after leaving, my skin was the clearest its ever been! Im so thankful for her help and recommend the services by the students at Avalon!

When I turned around after her just blow drying my bangs I almost cried because she gave me the color I have imagined for months now and never thought I would be able to achieve! I usually dont like facials, but I tried one with Patti Teeuwen, and it was by far the best facial Ive had. She was very communicative and focused on my trouble spots. My face felt brighter and firmer and my breakouts were more under control the very next day. Great experience! Avalon trains their people well!

Omg! Guys so honestly I’m super picky because I have sensitive skin and have struggled with acne since I was 13… I very rarely get facials or massages. I decided to give it a shot since a friend had recommended me to go and make and appointment with Mary Ngo. So I did… she was great, my skin is glowing and it was so so relaxing. She also gave me really good pointers and recommendations on how to better care for my skin.

Had the most relaxing facial this week with Patti Teeuwen. She was very professional and knowledgeable about the products. Patti answered all of my questions and provided me with the most hydrated facial I could have.

Attended this school for Esthetics. Very very impressed. I loved every second of my time attending here. Awesome atmosphere, amazing instructors full of help and information. Nadia showed the utmost professionalism and knowledge when I went in for a microcurrent facial. After analyzing my skin she let me know that one I was using face products that were harmful to my skin, two I was using products that would accelerate my aging and three that the products were severely dehydrating my skin. She suggested some products and I noticed immediate change once I made the changes she suggested. I recommend anyone going in for skin care to see Nadia she will treat you as if she were treating her own personal skin.

I came to Avalon to get a perm. A student named Yasmin assisted me, I think I was her first client shes done a perm on. My hair is very long and she was so patient doing it. She was very nice and her communication skills were very good. I was very impressed with how my hair came out. It was exactly how I wanted it. I love my curly hair!!! I went in yesterday to get balage with baby lights. I have really long hair, so of course it did take a long time. Rachel did my hair who did really good with doing what I wanted. She was also very knowledgeable.. Kalie who was the teacher was also helpful. I also had got a cut afterwards with getting my covid bangs fixed. I left satisfied and most definitely would go back & recommend.

I have mixed feelings about the school. I absolutely LOVED my first experience! Analy did a wonderful job on my hair! I was thrilled! I wish I had a picture but I don’t. However, my second, and third experience was not so great. My second visit I felt my hair was a bit brassy, but I knew when going from dark red to blonde that may happen so I didn’t expect perfection even though I wasn’t happy I paid with a smile on my face. However, my third visit, I just wanted to get as blonde as possible if possible, otherwise I would happily go brown. I am pretty reasonable but not wanting to look orange or blue like I ended up looking. I left in tears. Everyone telling me how great it looked, I couldn’t believe it. The conversation was wonderful, I know the student was doing what she was told but I ended up with multiple colors in my hair and paid $175 to get it fixed and cut most of it off so it can grow back healthy. They did a great job the first time, but I think if you want a natural look, this is not the place for you.

I had an appointment for a haircut yesterday and I got to meet Korbyn, she was the studen who did my haircut. A lovely lady, very friendly, very professional, my experience at Avalon is always great. I enjoy going there for services and Ive been their client for 7 years. I like the atmosphere and the vibe of the salon, I like that I get to meet new students and hear their stories and is always good to see the instructors how they connect and communicate with the students

What a great experience! Everyone was very welcoming & professional. My stylist, Angelica is top notch! I’ve seen her twice. The first time was for full highlights & the second for a wash & blow dry style. I absolutely love my hair. She did a fantastic job and I will definitely see her again! If you’re looking for a great stylist, I highly recommend Angelica.

As a recent graduate or this school i would not recommend anyone going here. the floor instructor makes you feel stupid as he teaches you. all they care about is your money, as soon as i graduated i had to chase them down to get my diploma and when i asked for help to schedule my boards the director was no help at all. upon registering they promise a bunch of classes that they don’t even have planned out yet... i would give it 0 stars if i could, waste your money somewhere else.

Teach, instruct, educate, train, discipline, school mean to cause to acquire knowledge or skill. teach applies to any manner of imparting information or skill so that others may learn.To demean someone is to insult them. To demean is to degrade or put down a person or thing.If you don’t see a difference between the two meanings then Avalon is the perfect school for you.I loved all of my instructors while being at Avalon. However, it was clear as day that the love wasn’t reciprocated. There was and probably still is favoritism within this school.I enrolled with the intention of doing makeup because they offered a M.A.C program or the website said so at least. There is constant changes in the environment and there’s very little instruction on the floor for students. Students spend more time searching for an instructor than actually getting an education. When there is, the instructor is very demeaning. You know it’s bad when the clientele can see how poor the students are being treated. Check the reviews before enrolling! Many students have left reviews to spare you the experience.

Really bad thing experience is not the same quality of Instructors since they change the name Xenon or bought it for this Avalon .A lot of men instructors especially the tall skinny man walking around is rude with the students, he dont have no idea what do he is watching people, stand up with a no word, his attitude is disgusting and the other male instructor same thing they thinks they knows but in the reality they make a mess with the clients. They need to change these instructors, like the others they have in the past, more professional.A feel bad for the students,they dont know what to do , the instructors they dont help them, they dont have any clue. They make a mess with my hair. The school use the students for their own profit, also, the students they dont get paid for the the job they do. Why the students have to clock in and clock put this school treat them as employees without salary.Xenon use to have very professional, honest and caring Instructor two amazing ladies, no more.They dont have a senior discount anymore also you cant tip the students because you cant take money from your debit I credit card, you can’t have hair cut like in the past.Honestly don’t waste your time and money there is not cheap. I expend a lot of money and my jair is bleached I need to go and find a professional to fix my hair immediately, its ridiculous.I hope CDE or BBB take a look of this business and their unprofessional staff.Bad experience probably, because thebad administration and management they have they need to treat better to the students teach them well to avoid sad and unhappy faces to the customers.

Very upset with the service my daughter is receiving after going to school here for cosmetology. They promised her direction, and mentoring once completion of the program, and all they’ve done is turned their backs on her. She asks for guidance and doesn’t receive. Please don’t waste your time and energy here. There are more schools out there that offer so much more. These people are money hungry, they get you in the door and slam it right behind you. Please take your education elsewh

As a student but for esthetics, it was horrible I had a good teacher but the director was rude he would do whatever he wanted I was also promised a lash class but never got it, we never got anything we needed have of the time they were doing construction and they made us move everything like the STUDENTS!!! They didn’t even consider to hire people to do it! We were there for school not to move the tables or any equipment it was just terrible wouldn’t even recommend this school to my worst enemy :(

I graduated from Avalon not too long ago and wouldnt recommend anyone to come here. All the instructors are very unprofessional. I was promised a free eye lash extension class that I NEVER received. It took 3 MONTHS for me to receive my diploma... I physically had to go in and ask for my diploma, the director never contacted me. They change the rules as they please and when they please... They just want you for your money, they could careless about you and your education. DO NOT COME HERE!!!

I came for a new color process and staff didn’t let me forget that I was black. After so many sneers, I finally got a clue. Lesson learned: patronize your own (although I only see one race)

I am a recent graduate of Avalon and I can’t tell you how grateful I am to this school and all of the administration here! I just couldn’t have done it without their help. Mark, the director, genuinely cares about each & every student. He knows everyone by name & takes the time to make sure we’re all doing ok. Who could’ve imagined that COVID-19 would disrupt our lives the way it has, and yet in the midst of all this craziness Mark & his amazing staff persevered to make sure those of us that wanted to continue our education could do so as smoothly as possible. Ariel, an instructor at Avalon made the Zoom online learning experience something I truly loved and looked forward to having everyday. She’s very knowledgeable, fun, witty and she obviously went out of her way several different times on our(the student’s) behalf. Adam, instructor/school salon manager took the time during the quarantine to organize, fix, clean, paint and replace everything & anything that needed it! I mean wow talk about above & beyond with everyone at this school. I will never forget this amazing experience and I will forever be grateful to Avalon!! Thank you so much Mark,Ariel, Michael, Colby(Mr C), Adam, and Stacy!!!

Not the best experience

I had the greatest experience at Avalon School of Cosmetology two days ago. Mike is an incredible instructor and knows what he is doing, he has the knowledge that he not only shares with his students but the customers as well. He is a true leader who wants to see his students succeed. Pam the student stylist who colored my hair was amazing, she made me feel at home and just had a natural touch for coloring hair and cutting hair. I will be returning and will request Pam until she graduates. This satisfied customer totally recommends Avalon, it’s a fun and professional environment!

I was pleased with Addie (sorry for the misspelling) the student that did my hair and her professionalism and the awesome job that she did on my perm and haircut today. I was not pleased with the rude director that ran up me while i was taking an important phone call that I had to take while I was at the shampoo bowl getting my hair rinsed and the neutralizer that was put on my hair/perm rods. The director rushing to me to interrupt my phone call to tell me to put the mask on and I told him mine had solution on it and he had someone run to get another one while I was listening to my call which I missed half the call with the drama that the director created treating me like I had covid19.I had taken the mask down to my chin and put the towel up to my mouth and nose because the fumes from the perm solution that was put on my hair and the solution seeped into the ear bands of the mask. The odor was so strong it was seeping down into my mask and I would be breathing that odor in through my nose/mouth with my mask on. That was a good 10 to 15 minutes I would breathing that in. How is that safety for your customers? The phone call was only about 5 minutes and I was disappointed with the way that the director of the school approached me, very rude and unprofessional.I am just saying that when you go to get your hair done it should be a time of relaxation and getting pampered, Me time, but if this wearing the masks and the COVID19 paranoia keeps on, what is the point of even going to get your hair done or a manicure or pedicure. The treatment was poor, but not by the student Addie she was great! I was very well pleased with her performance, not so much the Director of the School.

I had the opportunity to visit Avalon on two different occasions once for a complete color the second time for some highlights. I felt very welcome and I loved the excitement in the atmosphere. I had the privilege of working with Ashley G. she was very knowledgeable about what she was doing as well as she really paid attention to what I was asking to have done and in return offered me great feedback. Ashley was extremely friendly and made me feel right at home. On both occasions I was extremely pleased with how my hair turned out, I left there feeling really great. I have gotten so many compliments. I am very impressed!! I will defiantly be seeking Ashley out for all of my hair needs.

I stopped by this school for a last minute decision to get my haircut and it was a great experience. This was my first time having a student cut my hair and I left a very happy and satisfied customer. Vida was my student artist and she couldnt have been more careful and thorough in making sure that I was comfortable and satisfied during my entire visit. Her teacher, Ariel, was always nearby and answered any questions and offered suggestions with respect and clarity while offering praise for the students work appropriately, thus providing a well nurtured learning environment. I would like to add that if you plan on getting services here, please remember that the students may be learning new techniques for the first time while serving you so please try to be supportive and patient as they learn and give yourself plenty of time so they dont feel rushed while trying to make you a happy customer. It will be well worth your time.

They are not offering any help/classes/pre-tests to me or my classmates in order for us to prepare for the boards and get licensed during this pandemic. we had to cut school short & it’s understandable due to the pandemic but they’re not even offering online courses or any type of worksheet that could help us prepare for the boards or answer any questions we might have. there is not a low enough number for my to rate this school. save your time & money, & apply somewhere else!!!!

First time here. Perfection!! My stylist Kristi Rippleberger is Awesome! So friendly and kind. Her skills are fabulous. I felt absolutely fantastic when I left!! She game me a cut that had me looking and feeling fresh! Her layering skills are superb. I already made another appointment to see here again. The teacher who I met was kind as well and so welcoming. His name is Michael I believe. I definitely recommend this School salon. Than you so much for my wonderful experience!

Was genuinely pleased to find this salon resource. Perhaps over looked by most people and never a contender of choice to go to a salon school for all the reasons of fear your hair will be ruined. I was beyond surprised by the level of attention my head of hair was given. Mr. C. Came over for a consult with me and my stylist Joey. They asked me what I would like to accomplish and the preferred look, ie: colors of my highlights, roots, and general health of my hair. The three of us decided on a progressive color plan I had never tried before, and a moisturizing treatment. I was offered beverages and Joey began with precision and great attention to every detail to transform my color and look. Mr.C came by often to check in and monitor the process and offer advice and check on my comfort. When I was done and twirled to face the mirror, I was delighted with my color and highlights...Joey went the extra step to curl my hair and overall look took ten years off my face.I would give the 5 rating but they are in process of a renovation and its pretty raw on the interior but once it is completed, they would have the coveted 5 star rating.Thanks Joey Hicks and Mr. C exceptional experience and I would recommend you to all my friends.

My stylist Kristina was very pleasant and knowledgeable in her ability to give me the cut and color I requested! We spoke of different things during my time in her chair so it wasn’t boring! Cornell does an exceptional job, both on my root touch-up and rinsing all the products from my hair! I have a very sensitive scalp and if the lightening products aren’t properly rinsed out, I have an inflamed scalp for days. I appreciate the instructor knowledge and support. This is a quality cosmetology school with excellent instructors and students.

BEWARE DO NOT TRY TO ATTEND THIS SCHOOL IT’S A SCAM! I went through orientation & they called me everyday after that like 3 times a day to get me to complete my application & pay the fee. Once I paid I couldn’t get in touch with anyone. Emails & phone numbers I was given magically stopped working & I have yet to hear from anyone & it’s been a week. I completed my financial aid & was waiting on my appointment to be made to speak with the financial advisor that never happened. I will be reporting them to the state. Please go somewhere else, there’s plenty of professional schools who care in the state of Colorado.

Wow am I one happy gal! I have very fine hair and about half gray. My hair was grown out approx 6 inches with pretty damaged ends. Dakota worked her magic with a blond balayage and the sexiest A-line haircut I’ve ever had!! I have had too many compliments to count and I’ve referred 4 of my friend to get pampered by Dakota. Let’s be real we’re all a little weary of students touching our hair but this place is just amazing! There’s always a teacher coming by to make sure it’s exactly what you want before they get started. && Kealey is absolutely wonderful. I’ve been coming here and seeing her since she’s started and she always makes sure I get exactly what I want! I booked a retouch thinking we’d touch up my ends too and when I expressed that she had told me she didn’t have time for an all over color, BUT she made sure to run the color through the lighter spots I was worried about making sure I left with a full head of vibrant red. I will definitely be back ❤️

Had “The Best” haircut today by Toya at Avalon! She was awesome! Happy, pleasant, friendly, thorough and just plain awesome!! It was so relaxing I fell asleep in her chair. Adam was awesome too giving Toya tips and tricks of the trade and you can tell he really loves to teach the students everything he can to help make them successful. Great place and great people! I absolutely love being a student at Avalon ! I have had such a great experience since I joined. I am a transfer student and moving to Avalon was one of the best decisions I have taken . I actually feel acknowledged and feel like I’m learning a lot better and faster then where I was attending. Staff and students are so nice and friendly, it’s a really nice experience to be a student here at Avalon. We really try our best to ensure our clients leave happy and satisfied with whatever service they came in for! :)

I refuse to get my hair cut anywhere else! Everyones friendly and the atmosphere is clean and welcoming. They wont let you leave unsatisfied. Dakota is the best! Shes a perfectionist almost to a fault, seems to care more about my hair than I do, which I love! Ill definitely keep coming here. Also you just cant beat the prices here!

I regularly visit a Cosmo student, Michaela Swanson, for all of my hair needs! Shes truly incredible and cares about her clients satisfaction with their new look. Weve done everything from a simple trim to a crazy color melt and Im never unhappy with the end results. Plus my hair is silly soft :)))

Ive been a customer at Avalon since they opened and have always enjoyed each of the young ladies who have done my hair. They are thoughtful and considerate and work hard to be the best cosmologist. Carla H is my current stylist and she does a great job and Im always pleased with the outcome!
