Great dancing school, as a student I would highly recommend Tarana to others looking for a kathak school!

This teacher, her professionalism and dedication really changed my life. I had to miss so many classes because of my hectic work schedule but she has been so kind and motivates me and others who have missed classes to attend other classes. Covid had no impact on our schedule because she was so proactive in setting up zoom classes for us in the early stages. Thank you so much Sheetalj!

Though this teacher was a nice lady but once you know her for a while, her true colors come out. blatantly rude and disrespectful to students and doesn’t believe in them or their capabilities. I would not recommend to enroll your children in this program, anywhere else would be better.

If you are trying to find a kathak dance school in either the schaumburg or aurora area, this school is perfect! I have been going to this school for the past2 years, and I wanted to share my experience in this review. Before, I used to go to another local dance school in Schaumburg - Indian Dance School. In this dance school, I learned absolutely nothing for 2 whole years. Therefore, I transferred over to this dance school. They quickly caught me up on the two years of dance I had wasted at my old dance school through private lessons. After that, I was put in the third year batch. This year, I am completing both 4 th and 5 the year simultaneously with extra classes. The teacher over here, Sheetal Auntie, understands my need to finish my dance training before high school is over. So since I am a sophomore, she has arranged a fast track for me that will allow me to finish all 8 years of kathak by the time I am done with high school. Im giving this example to show the excellent customer service you will receive in this dance school, as Sheetal auntie makes sure that all her students needs are taken care of. Moving on, Id also like to include how we learn in this school. In my old dance school, we never followed any set curriculum and didnt have any exams to test whether we were ready for the next year of dance. In this school, however, we follow a curriculum set by the state and take an exam, which is not graded by Sheetal auntie, but by state examiners. People from this school never fail the exam, showing just how well we are prepared. Im only in my 4 th year of dance, but if you asked me to make up my own complex choeography on the spot, I could do it. Now, these were my experiences as a student. I also assist Sheetal Auntie with some 1st year students, so I have seen the other end of this school. She has adapted to covid19 incredibly. She has logs for each class that tell exactly what they need to work on and what they learned last time. She is able to spot the mistakes people make and correct them even over zoom calls (which we are using due to covid). She then requires everyone to send videos of their hw, so she can find any further mistakes they make and correct them before they develop bad habits. Now, any dance school is not complete without an amazing teacher, and Sheetal Auntie is one of the most amazing people I have met. She has around 200 students, yet she remembers the names of all of them and she can have very personal conversations with any of her students. Her outstanding communication and social skills have made my already amazing dance experience here even better. So if you are looking for kathak schools, I highly recommend you go to this school over the other schools in the area.
