Vista Peak has an awesome Theater Program and Concert Choir. I always leave feeling like I shouldve paid more for attending performances because the quality is greater than that of an average high school performance. Its obvious that excellence is a priority for the teachers and the students.

I went to Vista PEAK for the first few years of its opening and it was great! Like all school you get what you put into it. There were plenty of opportunities when I went there, and there have to be even more now. It’s a great place!

If you are on the verge of not graduating, vista peak offers power sessions which allow you to receive a whole quarter of credit in just a week. I loved vista because the teachers were amazing and the building was modern.

Vista Peak Preparatory is a good school. It has a lot to offer students in terms of advanced classes and supportive academic environment. As a general rule the teaching staff is excellent. However, in the past couple of years the school administration has switched focus from being a college preparatory school to being only focused on low performers. (Note: there is a significant difference between a student who is working hard but needs support and a student that does not care and is disruptive. The low performers I am referring to are those that disrupt class and dont care about their education.) The VP administration has started to cater to these disruptive students. As a warning to parents, if your student is working hard and/or is getting good grades you will likely not receive much help from the counselors or from the school administration. Students and parents need to pay attention to schedules, dates, basic requirements and confront the school often to get simple and proper support. By simple and proper I mean getting notification about registrations, support for advanced classes, college prep discussions, time from the counselors for students that involves making decisions about their academic futures, and minimal support for any student with a GPA above 2.5. One counselor in particular has been so negligent in his duties that he has cost current and former students opportunities for college by not supporting students attempts to achieve and succeed. One former VP student stated that this counselor, spent more time trying to be one of the popular kids than helping her. This counselor found it hard to do his job meeting with students, advising them on classes, providing support and assistance with academic decisions (that include notifications of college class qualifications while at Vista Peak), and keeping up with his and the schools schedule. Another student said that they got far more support from the teachers than they did from the counselors or the administration. In addition to this type of behavior from the counselors, the administration has also provided false information to multiple parents and students about sending transcripts to prospective colleges that has delayed and hindered attempts for admissions. In some cases this obfuscation (and not sending the transcripts as requested) has impacted acceptance and scholarship submissions. In a few instances parents have had to go directly to the Aurora Public Schools district office to get resolution. This type of behavior is unacceptable for a Preparatory school administration.I understand that Vista Peak has seen a significant increase in student population within the last few years while at the same time losing significant funding. And I understand the need to provide additional support for students that are at risk or are struggling. This is as it should be and Vista Peak is putting forth an immense effort to provide what these students need. I am not suggesting that these students receive any less help. However, this help should not come at the expense of the students who are working hard and are dedicated to their education. Again, Vista Peak is a Preparatory school...it is in the name.

When you host basketball on weekends a little air conditioning in the gyms would be nice on hot days. Thank you. 😊

Garbage. The staff is horrible and the schools priorities are all mixed up. If they werent focused on dumb stuff that didnt really need to be addressed then they would be faster to catch all the fights going on :). It literally is changing and starting to feel like a prison because the staff is so very strict and disrespectful. The staff act more like military and like they can disrespect people for blinking but demand respect back from them. The Staff will sometimes literally BULLY the students. People can barely even hug without being scared to be put down even if its just their friends and everyone makes fun of each other. My friend couldnt walk on graduation because the staff was mean to him and wasnt helping him enough to finish just in time even though he finished on time during th last check out day which the staff told one of my friends the upcoming Friday would be the last day but my other friend was not given the equal opportunity because he was given up on. He has schizophrenia and was bullied in class so much being called things like stupid, weirdo, schizophrenic freak.. and I was the only one who helped him and stood up for him. He did get his diploma but two days after everyone else walked. My other friend had his feelings hurt because a staff member banned him from wearing his favorite leather jacket because he looked threatening even though he had no sexual or gang related signs on his jacket or anything that would indicate harm, he was just stereotyped and put down by an adult for no reason. I also had one more friend whos parents were very religious and made her wear a scarf and other covering clothing everyday (for her religion) and she has been seeking help and talking to everyone in power and counselors that she can since Second Quarter and No One Helped Her. She now has to make up several math credits because her teacher failed her and no one helped to switch her classes. She did all the work and even the principal thought that her final grade was unfair due to all of the correct and completed work that she Turned In On Time and Nothing was done to fix this except for give her an extra math class for next year just because the teacher hated her scarf. Shes not a bad student, shes quiet, well behaved and a collected young woman. She was the only one picked on in this class. The school in general made me feel bad for having friends outside of class and being who I am and I was very depressed for most of my high school career and even got suicidal for some of the time because of the bullying especially from staff.

My Son’s math teacher publicly humiliated him in front of his whole class when he had asked to go to the bathroom , his math teacher had remarked of him TO LEAVE THE CLASSROOM FOR DISTRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR?!? It’s bad enough that your school has horrendous teachers , but to know the principal had done nothing hurts my heart . Please don’t put your final decision within this school .

My first week here, and the teachers are the best. I only hate how they have you turn in a Sylabus for every class.

I used to be a student here, glad I moved, I was bullied by teachers and other students, and I asked for help from the deans but they did nothing, no one helped me in my time of need, what makes this worse is I was mentally DESTROYED, autism and schizophrenia, I was the prime target there when I attended, Im glad I left this school.
