My children have attended this school since the end of the 2016 school year. The administration tries to stay well organized and on top of things, and the vice principal makes a huge effort to know all of the families and children by name. The teachers are accessible and generally easy to communicate with. They try their best to teach to each unique child rather than just the group. The principal has goals to keep the school running smoothly. We experienced a few bullying issues that were taken care of quickly. Overall we have really enjoyed our experience here. Were looking forward to the next few years and more of our children going through the school

I was extremely disappointed in this school as being the school based off my address. My kids would start off the school great academically then deline all year long. My son was told he is gifted then nothing was done to keep him challenge him. The school was not great at communication. My daughter got in a fight and the school made her call me without the full story from both sides. Had to track down her teacher to understand why my daughter would even be in a fight in the 1st place. There are some great teachers that work at this school but they can only do so much with 25 plus kids. The school puts a strong empathise on STEM but leaves out other school subjects or lacks them. My daughter said they only did science some of the time for a STEM school. Barely any social studies. Doesnt know the judicial system...I decided to open enroll my 7 year old in another school district to keep him continuously challenged. If the housing market wasnt crazy Id just move out of the area.

This school might be a school to choose if you have no other choices. When it comes to grades and PARCC testing there is not much help. They dont give your own grades and you really dont do much. Like I said in the beginning this might be a school to choose if you dont have any choices left.

This is definitely not the school to choose for your children! Office staff is rude an gossip about parents in front of students. Teachers never know what homework the kids should be doing. They switch up the lesson plans so fast the arent understanding whats going on. Bullying is a big issue here also. And nothing done except moving the child seat. My kids will definitely not be coming back to Century!

So far we have only had to deal with one school because i have gained custody of my 4th grader. This will be the only school i have had to be completely involved in. I am so disappointed with this school Century Elementary School. I have had nothing but short answers from teachers and staff. Frond desk has been rude to us on multiple occasions. We requested to talk to the teachers one on one so they know our situation and iv come to understand that they are not interested in getting to know the families at all. I have attended 2 PTO meetings and the first one was a joke. None of my questions got answered professionally and the main focus of the PTO meeting was about money and how to feed teachers after school hours. I was not impressed. I have been on a mission to remove him from this school so I can give my son the attention he needs and as well get the comunication from teachers that is needed. Furthermore requesting that teachers and staff get it together for the sake of our kids and future if our country. With all these school saftey issues i keep hearing on the news i aam scared for my child at this school, not because I think the teachers and staff are unsafe, but Im am unsure teachers and staff have the kids in there vision of safety. My child was miss placed into the wrong class. Assaulted by peers on a daily with little interaction from adults. They dont offer support or anything to low income families or children with disabilities. They set PTA meeting and only tell you 24hrs in advance so its impossible to attend. They dont care about special needs kids just about how much the kid is worth. They didnt even follow my sons IEP until half way through the year.

I just witnessed a kid get jumped or bullied by six boys” and there was no one to help him” its sad but kids are not safe and were thinking theyre safe”

Principal Anthony Lawson was allowed free reign at this school and destroyed it
