Not a bad school, but the most disorganized one it has been my misfortune to deal with. Their guidance department is a joke, severely understaffed. The guidance department often gives the teachers information to pass on to the students, which the students never hear until the last minute and often by the time they do hear it its incorrect. Academically, its fine, but insofar as the other responsibilities of a high school upon which so much of the future of the student is dependent, its bloody awful. Be prepared to call and call often and get the runaround as you get transferred to a variety of people who dont know the answers to your questions and dont know who does. Or care.My daughter was a transfer student between junior and senior year and almost didnt get to graduate on time because of the administrative nightmare. The blame game was the only thing the staff did well. Lost records, lost test results, lost class transcripts...it was an ongoing horrorfest.My daughter did like the teachers, and did well academically (honor student, not that well get to go to honors night because I was informed the day of the event and couldnt get off work). So the education itself is wonderful, but if your student is going to South Cobb, be ready to stay on the ball, pursue them about events and necessary steps towards graduation, and make lots of phone calls and go in to the guidance office frequently. And their website? Forget it. Its badly updated, poorly laid out, and relevant information is impossible to find.

The school is a little rough around the edges. The older buildings are dirty but the school overall is great. One of the best principals in all of the county. The administrators are involved and the teachers are passionate. Buildings do not make a school, staff and students do. The school is no where near as bad as people say. Anyone who says that the school is the worst high school to attend must not have had Dr. Ashley Hosey as their principal.

AWESOME THE SCIENCE LAB IS UP TO DATE. WHEN I WENT TO CHATTANOOGA VALLEY NO MICROSCOPES NO LAB TABLES. WAS 38 YEARS AGO

South Cobb High School is an incredible place. My nephew attends SCHS and I have never been happier. He is receiving an awesome education. I have never met a more dedicated staff. I highly recommend SCHS to any parent who are looking for a high school for their child. GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing place to go over the years it was tough but now with new admin its amazing and supplies lots of resources to help you learn and graduate!

This school is unorganized. First off the office is mostly ran by students, there is never anyone in the counselor office and thestudents do not greet adults in a professional manner. As a parent I would rather talk to an adult not ask students questions.Second my child is a senior, and the graduation rules is bs. For principal Terza and the staff to say graduation is a privilege not a right, then turnaround and he and his staff feel they have the Right to tell the kids what color clothing they are to wear under their cap and gowns, from my child tells me the colors are not a suggestion its a rule and the students have to bring their outfits and shoes to practice to be looked at.As a parent who has graduated and had a child already graduate from high school neither one of us had to show our outfits to the school staff prior to graduation. The only thing requested was to bring our shoes to graduation practice to ensure we can walk in them... Its an honor to graduate its not a privilege, its not handed to students, students bust their butts to make it to graduation, its not an easy road so the least they should be allowed to do is wear whatever they want under their cap and gown as long as its modest if a girl wants to wear pants and black shoes let her if a guy wants to wear a red suit with red shoes let him, it effects no one and I dont see how principal Terza feels he and his staff has the right to tell these students what they should and shouldnt wear on their day and as a parent I find it insulting that Im now forced to return and buy my child a completely different outfit because the principal and staff at this school feels it is their privilege and right to dictate what color outfit a graduating student should wear under his or her cap and gown. Smh

South cobb is a very under rated scool, the staff help with what ever you need. they go a mile to get their student to graduate on time. And people be talking about our schoool got alot of fight when we dont. every school has fight its common. we have some here and there but overall the school and staff is amazing

Parents I would not send your kids to this If you don’t want your kids around Drug, Gangs, or Prostitution on school property. Kids bring weed to school almost everyday you can’t walk into a gym class without smelling weed on at least 3 kids when you walk into the school everything seems normal but, once you get comfortable everything starts to show up fights in the bathrooms students bringing guns to school throwing up gang signs,smoking on the football field, and having sex in the star wells i wouldn’t send my kid to a jungle like this.

One particuler administrater is raceist and dosnt respect the rules givin to him as an administrator

South Cobb makes me very sad and especially when I try to go into the teachers lounge and the custodians try to beat me so I have to between the refrigerators just to run back out and especially when I have to pay 3 dollars for a Chick-Fil-A chicken biscuit and I end up buying a whole meal because of a certain someone 👀... but other than that it’s straight #2019

Its dirty teachers are unorganized and too playful so many fights and office is ran by seniors roaches are all over the place bathrooms have mold and Windows are cracked

My cousin went, here he said there is gang, and violence one of the worst schools in cobb county there is gang tagging on the bathroom stalls as well
