We moved to Austin in 2013 and Renaissance was one of the schools on top of our list. Everybody works so hard to provide students with a great environment that is conducive to learning, strong character building and some fun. My kids really like the school and were so excited to learn they are attending Renaissance next year and to me this is the only testimony I need. To give credit to school, the principal has provided excellent support to many initiatives and continues to work hard to achieve better goals. The teachers are also great and I know they work very hard to deliver their message to the kids. I definitely recommend Renaissance for any parent who is looking for quality education and a safe environment for their kids.

I am a Renaissance Academy parent for the last one year. I am very happy and pleased with the quality of service this school provides. Given the reasonable fees they charge being a private school, I feel the value for money is excellent. The staff and administration team is very professional and undoubtedly the environment is excellent. End of the day what matters is your childs education in one of the best environment. Visit the school and see for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

I have known the administration of this school since a while now. They are very dedicated professional and hardworking people. I personally know the students who graduated from this school and have been admitted into really good universities like UT-Austin and are well grounded Muslims. We should support this school in whatever ways possible as they are educating the future leaders of tomorrow in America. Many well known sheikhs have visited the school and praised it highly.

The school is conducive to the spread of beneficial knowledge providing an ever encouraging environment. It has students of such diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to Middle Eastern, South Asian, East Asian, African and European countries, which teaches the students to live in harmony in this society without any bias. The principal personally ensures safe pick-up and drop-off of the students. The school is also providing healthy lunch options from one of the best halal restaurants in town at a reasonable price. The teachers are very devoted and work very hard for the well-being of the kids.

My 2 kids go to this school. What amazes me is the good things regarding character wise they talk about at home. Yes, we try to inculcate good character and teachings of our way of life at home but going to a private school like this is an added advantage. The kids recite and remember the Surahs easily. Their academic results and outcome is also very satisfactory and i can see the overall good academic and character development of my kids since theyve started going to Renaissance.

The Principal, Teachers and Full Staff is great and very diligent to prepare kids for future. Teachers work really hard to help the students reach their potential. Teacher positions in this school are highly desirable and it shows. Things go right or wrong but Full RA team (principal + Teachers) provide full support to response and resolve issues. They are not limited to Islamic curricula, their syllabus includes Maths, Science, Arts etc. while using latest technologies like Smart Board etc.School is providing the best services with the lowest cost in the Local Area.Thumbs up for great Effort.

Renaissance has positively shaped and affected my child more than any other educational experience. I believe the experience that Renaissance offers is irreplaceable and crucial during the transition from childhood to young adulthood due to the instillment of important core values that are relied upon as a guide everyday. All of us must realize the value Renaissance adds to our daily lives. I won’t hesitate recommending Renaissance as a place of educational excellence. (Parent)

This school is a very good school. The staff is not perfect, but they work hard and they try their best. I think the Islamic studies program is first rate. Also the science teacher is excellent. The school encourages children to participate in extracurricular activities, such as science fair, history fair, Arabic, and Quran Competitions. Most of the kids are really nice and friendly. It is like they are family to each other mashAllah.

I moved to Austin last year and decided on Renaissance for my two girls. So far it has been a very good experience. The school provides a healthy, safe and islamic environment. I see sincere efforts being made by everyone involved, especially the principal to take this school to the next level. They recently got accredited again and earned a respectable score, very impressive for a school of this size and resources. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for an islamic environment for their kids in Austin.

I moved to Austin about 4 years ago and have been volunteering some of my time for the school since then. This school is a complete package for your child, right from pre-K all the way to high school, with top class staff and facilities. i have personally seen a very positive difference in kids who started going to this school in just a month of time. your kid will be reminding you to pray before you start your food, or leave your house. how awesome is that ?If you happen to attend there Annual Event, it just blows your mind. the confidence in the students in whatever they perform, be it a skit, a serious talk or discussing their career goals is amazing. the batches that graduated in the past are in top Universities doing Medicine and other studies. It is indeed a blessing for the community to have such a school for their children, that prepares them for any challenges and to excel in their lives.

My children have gond their for 2 years and this will be their last year. The school cannot keep staff and changes their schedule far to often. I have planned clients and meetings so I could attend school events and then they change the date weeks or days ahead of time this is not acceptable. My children will be moving to another Muslim school next year. Also, the new principle has little management experience. She quickly agrees to everything and then pretends the conversation never happened. From a parents perspective this starts off annoying but soon moves to being unacceptable.

You can judge a school from its products i.e. Students. Mashallah Taraweeh this Ramadan is led by alumni and current student (8th grade). The quality of recitation shows what Renaissance students learn in Tajweed/Quran. Renaissance Academy has outstanding Quran teachers. My kids started in this school in preK4 10 years back and we never had to change schools. I have 2 daughters attending Renaissance Academy. The character of teachers comes into students as they spend maximum time of day at school. And Renaissance Academy has amazing teachers. Language Arts in this school is one of the best. This school has very balanced Academics, Tarbiya, Sports & Extra Curricular (competitions etc) activities. Also good role model teachers and Principal. Highly recommend for anyone looking for Islamic School or Private School in greater Austin area.

I was very much worried by thinking about my kids future in this country when i moved 5 years ago, at that time my kid was just 4 months old.I started research about the schools by using different sources and means as well as googling myself over the internet then I heard about Renaissance Academy and did lot of research by comparing with other schools which claims to be having the same vision and values. However the ground reality are completely different, infact i started the process to move to Dallas as well.......Finally, It took me 3 years to complete my analogy and choose Renaissance for my Kid for his Pre K-3. For some personal reason, i got to move to INDIA for 6 months. It makes me realize that its not too easy to get the right education with core Islamic values as my kid getting in Renaissance. I was waiting to come back to Austin to get my kid pursue his studies. Alhamdulilah....he is in Kinder garden now.... its a gift and blessings to the community to have such a school and i urge all the god fearing people to start think about their kids to grow up in the environment where we make their future and aqirah as well as to make our AQIRAH.

Best school in Austin, Dedicated Staff genuinely care of kids like a family. School administration deeply cares about kids activities, behavior, mental growth, development and keep parents up to date about the activities at school. Administration constantly invests in improving school standards , recently installed smart boards (state of art technology). Youth delivers Juma Khutba at local masajid and leads taraweeh during Ramadhaan. School has several programs that emphasize on building characters and ethical values. I believe this school produces great future leaders, nation builders.

I have my 2 kids going to Renaissance Academy and I have also been a volunteer for few of the school social and academic activities. This is a model school with outstanding teachers and school administration. Profoundly dedicated teachers make the learning experience a world class.Teachers are cooperative, caring, qualified and show interest in our childrens education and well-being. They provide students with an education they will never forget. The School has a great Principal who works tirelessly to make the school the best with her army of amazing teachers behind her. The School has gone digital with the Smart Boards installed in all the elementary grades. The school has a very good computer lab and a full sized Basketball court. The School is fully accredited by AdvancEd/SACS-CASI and pre-school is consistently rated 4 Star by Texas Rising Star Standards.Lower student/teacher ratio is an asset. Our children are excelling in maths, reading, and Arabic/Islamic studies. We feel the School environment is even shaping their manners and behaviour. We have seen this school make great strides and improvements, and we hope it will become the best in town.I would like to thank all the board, volunteers and staff members for their help in nurturing the love of Islam in our kids and offering them a strong Islamic, Quranic, and Arabic education, in addition to all the core subjects.I agree to one of the reviews I have seen for Renaissance Academy - Some students who graduated from Renaissance Academy are leading Taraweeh and are one of the best reciters not only in Austin, but the state of Texas. Following Deen, respecting teachers, parents & elders, cleanliness, community service and leadership skills are some of the skills emphasized at Renaissance Academy. Many are exposed to opportunities that help them transition and adjust to college lifeFurthermore, every single school event has left beautiful memories in our heart that will always inspire us and remind us of RA.Renaissance Academy of Austin, Texas is the way to go for a truly amazing experience.

Staff genuinely cares about kids. I believe staff here dont work for money but passion for producing nation builders. I witnessed they are extremely patient with kids even more than parents and highly encouraging. Administration constantly invests in improving infrastructure in-spite of all the challenges that other schools face. I try not to miss any of the school meetings or gathering because that helps me to get to know more about school and about my kids. Hajj Simulation by kids is unique event to witness apart from cultural events, field trips, extra curricular activities. Parent teacher gatherings builds a healthy relationship with staff and families.Recently installed smart boards (state of art technology). Ramadhan Taraweeh, Juma Khutbas in all masajids of Austin by current students and Alumni is one of the examples of school demonstrating results and delivering promises.

AssalamAlaikum w.r.w.b, I have seen many Islamic Schools in USA and most of the parents get scared of sending their kids blindly to any Islamic school even though it says it is Islamic , However those who send their kids to Islamic schools is solely because we know how the culture is in private schools. So when we come to Islamic schools our main intention is to build our kids Islamic identity, providing them security and without compromising on educational competitiveness. Now coming to Renaissance Academy and to do a reality check, We have to decide on how this Islamic School is conducting in reality, Let’s see the strongest argument in favor of sending children’s to Islamic schools in providing of an Islamic environment is being achieved or not with Renaissance Academy and to see how kids are doing in their daily life. This is what I have observed from kids of this school over last 5 years after being connected with this school,-They pray Dhur with Jamaah,-High School Kids give Friday Khutbah in the school and local Masajids,-Kids meet great visiting scholars round the year,-Meet community leaders, Imams and entrepreneurs on a regular basis,-Interact with other Muslim children’s in their classes and during breaks,-No exposure to any bad activities(Most common exposure elsewhere),-Participate in competitions and Alhumdulillah always win prizes,-Play various sports together with all etiquette’s,-Experienced and talented teaching Staff,-Learning Islamic teachings and other religious Studies,-Humble in their Attitudes and focused in their Career paths-And many other positive things which we care as being Muslim’s...Nevertheless in addition to the positives I observed about this school, I see that this school really is a place to groom true Islamic identity and provide security to the kids in its boundaries.I can say all this because I have seen and met many students from this school and Masha Allah the way they conduct themselves reflects a true representation of Islam in them. Some of them went to become Huffaz-E-Quran while joining major technical/administration/medical universities/colleges once they graduated, Alhumdulillah also achieving their career goals with a positive attitude towards Islam and being a representative of Islam wherever they go.Yes this has been a positive review but the only drawback I see is parent’s lack of understanding towards sending their kids to this Islamic School or any Islamic Schools in general. All the caring parents have their responsibility in the upbringing of their kids in the right way and this school has all what it takes towards the path, Alhumdulillah!!May Allah protect this school from everything evil and guide this school in creating role models and future leaders of this Ummah. Ameen

With the thought of finding a school to advance our kids Arabic language and learning to read Quran properly, I took a tour last April and was impressed by then 1st graders beautiful Quran Tajweed recitation. After being with RA for a year, we are happy with all subjects, especially very pleased with the development and improvement of our kids demonstrated in Arabic and Quranic recitation; they virtually can read any Arabic articles with right pronunciation at their level (age 7 and 9) of understanding and memorized the 30th juzu. The school environment is secured and delightful. The playground is gated and kept well-maintained. Students behaviors are calm, pleasant and respectful. We are grateful to have wonderful teachers for all our kids subjects and looking forward to having another fruitful year at RA.

My kids go to the Pre-K / K classes here and i would definitely recommend it for any parents considering a good islamic elementary school in Austin. In my experience, the kindergarden program is professionally managed, school very well maintained, the teachers very good, and i have seen a positive change in my kids overall personality. The islamic studies though can be improved. On the recent controversy surrounding this school, i never interacted with the principal before and rarely do with the new prinicpal. Personally, i dont think it matters for a kindergarden / elementary school parent. Its unfortunate this happened but i trust the board when it says communication lines were broken. Allah knows best.

Salaam Alikum,I am rating the school 2.5 but since there is no choice available for that I put it at 2.Let me start by saying this - this feedback is about the quality of the Islamic school and it should be limited to that. I think everyone should write the review honestly in the interest of the community. Before putting my son in the REF, we looked at the APA also and were equally impressed by the two schools with some personal preferences nudged us towards REF. Once the school started, I was impressed by the execution of the school in terms of curriculum and overall management under the leadership of principal Mali. Around half way through the school year, the board changed the principal. Again, I was impressed by some of the initiatives taken by new principal Kayed. I saw significant changes in parent communication and discipline among students as well as employees. Overall, my son learned Arabic alphabets/numbers and basic words and it is priceless for us. The Arabic teacher is very dedicated towards the students. Rebecca does a great job in the core pre-k curriculum. My review is limited to my experience in pre-k class and overall school administration observation. Now I have not had personal experience with the schools in Dallas and some other places that people rave about. So, this does not take into account how this school is relative to the schools in other cities. We have limited choices in Austin for fulltime Islamic schools and I believe that we should make what we have better than experiment with generations of Muslim youth under a new and better idea for Islamic school every few years and scrapping the last one as a failed experiment. I am not even accounting for the significant personal effort and sacrifice entrepreneur members and their families make in such an endeavor since it is secondary to the future of Muslim youth. There was lot of disenchantment towards the school board when the principal was changed (which may have spilled over in these reviews since it is fresh event) however I have seen even more catastrophic things happened at the APA school in recent past and it is doing fine now. I expect REF to do well and I hope the community stands behind these schools in the interest of our young generation. I know the administration at each of these school is honest and professional and they truly mean to serve the community.A review of ‘0’ or ‘3’ may or may not be an accurate assessment in my opinion and reader of all these reviews should think about that for a moment. To the parents thinking about the school choice, I highly recommend that you make an appointment at all the schools you are interested in and then personally tale a tour and not judge the schools primarily by the average google feedback. Both schools are doing well and both deserves a fair unbiased look from you.
