Fun class, well except for the mandatory face masks, where you learn, do, and then get to eat what you made. They have lots of different classes. Two to a table so go with someone else and have a good time.

First two times were great. Well stocked and friendly people. Last three times I went, the three workers were all huddle by the far register sitting and talking. They didnt even look at me or say hi. I walked in with sister-in-law and daughter and right away smiled and said hi to them expecting for them to say hi as well. They didnt. Whatever maybe they didnt hear me. After I circled around the store one of the girls was at the end and I smiled at her and said hi. She didnt say anything back!! I wanted to leave at that point but they are literally the only baking store around. I also noticed they are no longer well stocked in Americolor. The time before last they were half gone and yesterday all gone.

Walked in to gather supplies for my company I started recently (we’re talking I needed $2,000+ worth of products) and was instantly barked at about wearing a mask. No “hello”, no “welcome in”, just instantly barked at by California feminists to wear a mask. Even after I put one on they’re still whining about it. Shut up. 0/10 stars. Would not recommend

The place was fine and had almost everything we needed. Aside from the idiocy of them saying No Mask No Service despite the fact that they accept cash, touched my stuff which makes no sense. If you are so scared of a virus that is on par with the flu, then just stay home or in this businesses case just dont open.

I called and asked if they could print a picture onto sugar paper for me and was very happy that they could. I was going to make a cake for a friend.Directions on their website to the store were easy to follow. When I got there, there was plenty of parking. They were using proper protocols for safety due to the pandemic. The store was huge and I spent 40 minutes browsing around, finding all sorts of neat goodies for my project. It seemed like they had everything that anyone could ever need if they were baking. I bought some fondant, some colored gel food coloring for the cake, and I even got some helpful hints from Cathy to make it easier for me to color my frosting. The sugar sheet printout looked exactly like the image I emailed them and I was very impressed.Their employees were very helpful and I left there feeling confident that I was going to be able to make my cake because I had everything I needed.

This shop is so great if you wanna bake something. They have anything and everything one could want for baking. However, in my opinion, the staff and the administration of the store is so awful that it ruins the experience. I was there on December 23. I noticed while I was there that the staff basically was standing around whispering to each other and looking at the people in the store as though they were entertained by whatever it was they were seeing. So it’s a little troubling to see employees acting this way when they’re supposed to be running a store. The worst part is that when I checked out I gave them $100 in cash and asked them to put the balance on my debit card. The next day I was looking at my bank account online and realized they had charged me for the entire amount on my debit card in addition to taking the $100 in cash. I called and spoke to one of the employees who told me that it would be taken care of by Friday. I understand that Christmas was on Wednesday so while Thursday would’ve been best they were closed the day after Christmas. It is now Monday and I still do not have my money. I realize that $100 may not be much to some people but it’s Christmas time it’s quite a bit to me. I’m a single mom and to go without this money has been a struggle as I have bills I need to pay. I’ve called and spoken with three different people and they all kind of acted like it’s my fault because I don’t have my receipt. However, I’m not attempting to return anything and the onus is on them in my opinion.I’m really disappointed because I really really want to get into learning how to bake and I thought the store would be great for that. The problem is I don’t trust them. Not only do I not trust them but I haven’t been apologized to one time. In fact, I feel like I’m bothering them when I call. There’s just no excuse for this kind of customer (dis)service.**within 15 minutes of me posting the above review, I received a call from someone at the shop informing me that they’ll process the refund right away and apologizing for the incident. As a result, I’m upping my star review to 3 stars. I appreciate the prompt response but find it upsetting it requires me to write a negative review on Google to get them to take customer service action. I will return to the store because it’s so awesome as far as inventory, but I will keep an eye on my receipt.

Hi! Ive been 2 times shopping in this store and both of them a girl from the staff has been mean to me.The First time I was there, as soon as I came in she yelled at me saying I had to use sanitizer AND GLOVES.Then someone came in after me and she said nicely to her that she could wear gloves OR sanitizer. I tried to thought it was a misunderstanding. But a few days ago I was there again and she was at the register and she said I had to put my basket next to the register so she could take my stuff from it. Them she told me to stay away from her.... Ok. I Thought she was just scared of the corona but she was again acting a little bit rude in her loud tone of voice and way of saying things.I went back the same day to buy something else that I forgot and the same girl was with another costumer at the register. It caught my attention that the costumer was very close to her and that she put all her purchases by herself on the counter and the employee was ok with it. They both were touching her stuff without any social distancing or protocol as she did with me twice. Her voice was also nice and kind with her. Not the loud voice she has used with me twice in different days.I dont want to make conclusions but for sure I wont go back to your store.

How exciting it is for Austin to have such a cool place with all these wholesale-like items just for bakers!! You cant escape this place without buying SOMEthing. They have a wall of sprinkles, a wall of cookie cutters, a wall of seasonal items, a wall of icing, a wall of food coloring, a wall of cupcake baking foil/paper, a wall of girly decorating stuff, a wall of boyish decorating stuff, a wall of cookie trays and cupcake pans ... and the list goes on and on and on!They even have a huge selection of birthday candles. If you are a baker or know anyone who is a baker for fun or for more serious reasons then you must come here!! I brought my sister here and she went bananas. If you ever felt like you may or may not find something that you need for a special cake, cookie, cupcake etc. then try this place and you will have a good chance you may come across what you were looking for.Their location is easy to find and get to. The parking lot is plentiful and the service was great.

This is the best place to get anything and everything baking related supplies. Ive been to bake supplies shops both in Houston and Austin. Nothing beats this place other than online vendors but you will have to wait forever to get your goods. I go here to get supplies to make wedding cakes or celebrations cakes. But its a great place to take classes to learn or master a decorating/baking skill. Ive taken my nieces and nephew here for two classes - marshmallow and cookie decorating. Both classes they had a great time.

I have been here before both before the changes the name and location and since. I will say in the time they have offered a more variety of items which is great. The downsize is there are a lot of holes. I’ve gone in and the item I need is not in stock. I’ve gone in and the associates working do not ask you if there is something they can do to help you get what you need.I spent 100 dollars between 2 visits last week. I saw a sign that said edible products cannot be returned which is understandable. But I bought a pair of scissors labeled kitchen scissors in the aisle with airbrush paint. On my FIRST use, they broke. One of the whole handles literally popped of. I was cutting an edge of one of the rounds of a cake board thatbisnt even a quarter of an inch thick. That’s ridiculous. I called to see if I could return and it was told no. That I could only exchange it for another pair. Why would I want another pair of scissors that are of thatnpoor quality??? That is bad business I’m my eyes. If you’re unwilling to recognize that a cheap product is being sold then you don’t care about the customer.I also had to return to get some foil covering for one of my boards. The employees was not knowledgeable about the process. I asked enough question to figure it out on my own where she even admitted she didn’t know how it worked. Again, unprofessional. At least when the location was smaller it felt personable and that them employees truly cared about what you needed. Now you’re just another number and another sale. Even the woman who sits behind the computer doesn’t smile or offer any service or help.I’m very disappointed in my recent visits here and would much rather find another way to get what I need then to experience service that does not care about my needs or making things right.

I have always loved this store but that changed today. I bought 2 of the 7 lb high ratio shortenings about 3 weeks ago. Used 1 tub & half of the other to make icing as I had a big wedding coming up & other orders. After making up the icing I noticed it tasted bad & left an aftertaste in my mouth. I didnt use it on any of my cakes because everyone loves my buttercream & I knew something wasnt right. Finally today I had the time to call them. I ask if they have had complaints about the shortening lately. The lady told me they occasionally get in shortening that is rancid. I told her I had made up all but half of the 2 tubs in icing & will they make it good. She went & ask someone who I assume was a manager. Came back & told me if I bring the half tub back they will exchange it for another tub. Even though I have my receipt & the other empty tub plus the icing I made if they want to see it, they will not make the one I used good. I ask if I could just get other items instead because I didnt want to chance that happening again. She told me no I would have to take a tub of shortening. So, not only am I out the shortening, Im out all the powdered sugar I used in the icing that I will have to throw away. That doesnt even include all the time I put into making the icing. I honesty had quit using the shortening from here a couple years ago because it never mixes smooth in the icing. I have switched to Sweetex which if you havent tried I highly recommend it. Problem is I have to get it in Houston & my husband was going through Austin so I had no choice at the time. Lesson learned. Ill make the 2 hour drive to Houston for my supplies & shortening!

Practically my second home now, I love this place. I signed up for some classes after getting a Groupon Deal (which are totally worth it), but I got hooked and have taken about 2/3 of the classes that are offer at the moment. The owner Jennifer is so nice a knowledgeable, she was in the Food Networks Cake Challenge, theres photos and her medals in the bathroom. This store seriously has everything for anything baking project that you need, if they happen to not, they probably know where you can get it from. I love the people that work here, everyone is really so nice and always willing to help. The classes with Heidi are my favorite, she has such a great sense of humor and there is never a dull moment in a class with her. She knows her stuff too, Magda the classroom assistant is amazing, she always keeps the class running like butter. The greatest things about the classes if you bring nothing and always leave with a great amount of stuff, with no cleaning! Totally worth each penny that you pay. The prices on the product is great too, very comparable to other places. The unique items are also a great price too, I find somethings that you cant even get cheaper if you tried. Love this place, wish the Pluckers parking didnt make the parking here such a nightmare at times. They do have few limited front row spots that are nice if you are in and out, but for classes those spots dont work so well. I recommend the classes for everyone, beginners to experts, you are always going to leave with something you didnt know.

I was told to use this store to help with a cake for a bridal shower. From the beginning, they were extremely unprofessional. I had a lot of questions (as most people would who are not bakers or cake decorators might have), and they never had specific answers for me. My calls and emails were not answered in a professional or timely fashion. I expected the work I requested to be done at a specific time, when we went to go pick it up, the staff was rude and the piece we needed had not been made. Please note, I spoke with the staff the night before to make sure they had everything they needed from me, and that the piece would be ready. When I asked, Cathy (the manager), why it wasnt ready, I was not met with an apology, but with an attitude. Very disappointing. She got very defensive and started giving me excuses, one of which was that she didnt have what she needed from me. I just dont see how they can stay in business with management like that. Would not recommend them to anyone, ever.

If you like grocery store cakes, then this is your supply headquarters for the DIY version. Theyre basically a giant outlet for Wiltons baking supplies, which sadly means lots of chemicals and artificial, shelf-stable ingredients. But if you need to make Dora the Explorer cupcakes, they have all the supplies. Wacky theme cookie cutters? They have a whole wall of them. One of the best things they have is a back room filled with bakery boxes, cake rounds, and every type of cardboard and plastic carrier to get items from point A to point B. The local restaurant supply stores didnt have this selection. This isnt the place to go if you make odd savory-sweet desserts like youll find at Uchi and Barley Swine, its where you go for every color of sprinkles and cupcake wrappers. They teach classes but I havent taken any, as Im not a fan of plastic-tub frosting. They fill a good spot for things that you wouldnt want shipped from Amazon, but dont expect to find anything local or seasonal.
