Over the past three years Ive driven across our great state of Texas to receive Salsa private sessions from some of the most talented instructors. Recently I had the pleasure of taking a Salsa private session with Erik and Consuelo of Impulso Dance Academy in Austin. Just when I thought the Aha moments in Salsa were coming to a close, this highly talented and experienced couple have managed to elevate my Salsa dance technique to a higher level. Thank you Erik and Consuelo as both of you are truly gems and my only regret is that my home is 320 miles away. I look forward to making this trip again to gain even greater insights and continue to grow my passion for Salsa!! Best wishes and I know that the Austin and Texas Latin Dance community will embrace you both.

Just finished my first private salsa lesson with Erik, and I cant stop smiling! The new studio space off of North Lamar is airy and pleasant, with wonderful light but a private feel. Erik has a splendid teaching style that really put me at ease and felt very natural to understand. Of course, he started the lesson asking what I was looking to get out of it, and he truly delivered! It was the perfect combination of technique that I needed and some really fun partner dancing where we focused on how to follow a lead. I would definitely recommend a private lesson to anyone playing with the idea. I look forward to all that Impulso dance studio has to offer!

I recently started taking privates with Erik and I cannot say enough good things about him and my lessons! With professionalism, patience and great teaching skill, he is taking my dancing to a new level. It is also so gracious of Consuela to join in from time to time and help me to see what I am trying to achieve!No matter what level of dancer you are -- beginner, intermediate or advanced -- these accomplished professional dancers have much to offer you!I feel very fortunate that Erik and Consuela moved to Austin and opened their studio. I wish I have taken Erik as my dance teacher many years ago. He is an excellent teacher. I have been taking dance lessons regularly for years from International Standard Modern, both American Styles, West Coast Swing, Argentine Tango and more. I can tell a good teacher from the rest. I really appreciate Eriks teaching. He is an excellent top teacher.

Best teachers and dancers I have ever had. They are so structured, patient with everybody and make sure everybody has technical skill that would work in a salsa nightclub. I also think it is wonderful that they invite students to go out to dance together at the clubs as well. So happy that I found them! ❤

I had a great time meeting new people that have an interest in dance. The instructor was fabulous and kept an advanced pace. My suggestion would be to have him stand on the stage for such a large group that he had that night or stay in the middle of the group so that it is easier to see his steps when he is demonstrating. The last three rows could not see him and didn’t learn as fast as the fromt rows.

Erik and Consuelo are amazing dancers and wonderful instructors! Erik was my instructor for my one-on-one and he took my salsa game to a whole new level. I feel much more confident going out on the dance floor now that I have all of his great tips in my arsenal! Thanks to the both of you!

My husband and I took our first lesson tonight. We had a great time and learned a lot! Reviews are all accurate. Erik and Consuelo are lovely, taking the time to ensure we each knew what we should do and then practicing together. We will be returning for additional lessons!

The Impulso studio is very nice - very well equipped and very clean. Consuella is a great teacher! She is: an excellent dancer, very patient, and a gifted coach. Im definitely not a natural dancer but after a few salsa lessons, my confidence soared. I highly recommend Consuella. Shes the best!

Amazing teachers! They make you feel comfortable when you make a mistake and really give you the confidence to continue getting better everyday, which you will. With their help you will love to learn how to dance salsa and bachata!!!!!!!! Come and check them out at least once and you will see they are the best instructors in all of Texas!
