I love this place and wish there were more centers like this that offer healthy meals in a peaceful environment! My type of place 100%. The menu is the same for everyone - you only get to chose your dessert / tea, the rest is fixed. Love that it minimizes waste. Thank you! I’ll be back several times during my stay in Austin. If they offered a meal plan I would be eating there every day 🀩

Microbiotic food with in a zen atmosphere. We walked through the beautiful bamboo trail to the restaurant. We were greeted and paid for our meals. The dessert cabinet looked delicious but we were so stuffed we could not eat another bite after our meal. The artisan greens were topped with lemon and nut dressing. It tasted very clean and flavorful. The steamed veggies were crisp and the peanut sauce was very good. The lentil dish had a nice flavor. There was a round scoop of brown rice with a mushroom gravy on top. It was simple but filling. The soup was a sweet acorn squash and potato soup which I loved. There were pickled beets and another veggie dish with another sauce. The presentation on the food was great. The teas were delicious as well. There was a spa type music playing while we ate.

Went for the first time today and we will be back!! My husband and I aren’t new to healthy eating and we often frequent vegan/vegetarian restaurants. We could easily give up meat and often try to eat mostly vegetables when we can. (Although I love cheese!)But at this place, you don’t miss it! I could eat the salad every single day- wish I had the recipe! After the soup and salad I was starting to get full. But I saved room for the entree and it was delicious. The sauce on the kale was amazing! And the rice was perfectly cooked. It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside. Our toddler loved the playground area and he even ate most of his salad! He also loved the rice!Everyone was nice and I assume that the most of the patrons were regulars. You can tell that they appreciate and respect the food, people and ambiance. We will be back! Probably weekly!

I had a wonderful, balanced, delicious and filling whole food meal. The atmosphere was calming and serene as well. Since they have a daily set meal on the menu, I’m not sure, nut allergies can be accommodated, and for this reason I’m not able to go with all my family members. I would certainly eat there more often if there were nut-free options. Nevertheless, I love the food. Also, parking is across the street, but it is paid city parking.

Your get unlimited soup, salad, twig tea and an amazing plate of macrobiotic, gluten, soy and sugar free delicacies, which differ every day!!! How fun is that? If you dont like an item, say beans, just ask the sweetest staff there for a plate without them. Nom nom nooooooom!

Absolutely surprised and delighted by this restaurant. Ive been in Austin nearly 20 years and never even heard about it until switching to a plant-based diet recently. We visited at dusk which was a perfect time to walk into the property with all the lights up in the trees. To be clear what you get here, there is only one thing on the menu: the whole menu. You get a feast. They have a smaller childrens portion, but still includes everything on the menu. Both are very reasonably priced. It is vegan / plant-based, so itll be all plants, low-sodium, no refined sugars and little to no oil - so no deep fried fake meats here. Its really hard to find healthy vegan food period, so really appreciate this little Eden buried in downtown Austin.Lots of seating inside and out plus a nice playground. The tables are well spaced out. Great space to rent for events too. Theres a free parking lot across the street, so super convenient. I just wish I lived closer, Id be eating there almost every day.

I love the environment in this place. Very relaxing, they have a large dining space inside and outside. The food is delicious, not salty and oily like most other restaurants. This is literally the only place that I can eat dinner and I dont feel heavy after and there is a nice satisfaction to it! I also really like that they dont have any music so its really easy to talk and have a nice time! I like the fact that your food comes in ready, you dont really have to choose anything so its very easy. Your tray will include multiple dishes at once! I think it could be a little cheaper but overall I think its worth it. The people who eat in this place are also nicer somehow! I dont understand why exactly but it seems like this place attracts a lot of caring and kind people!!

You pay first and then get your own appetizers. The staff bring you your lunch, so dont worry they will bring you something. It does take awhile but it is so worth the wait. The food is hella fresh and organic. I met the owners son and their whole mantra is just fascinating. Casa de Luz advocates for changing peoples knowledge on clean eating and fueling your body with the right ingredients. You have to change your taste buds so they are used to the unprocessed food. Lunch and dinner are self-serve except for the entrΓ©e, which is brought out to you. The set includes soup, salad, the main dish and a choice of teas and coffee. Everything is delicious, and your dog is welcome to hang out with you on the gorgeous patio.I’ve been a vegetarian most of my life (because... cheese!) but after the delicious dinner we had, I can finally see going vegan all the way. I couldn’t name all the spices in our to-die-for squash lasagna and the sauces on the side dishes, but I know I want to taste them again... Absolutely delicious. On a side note, this was my carnivorous husband’s first foray into a vegan experience, and he loved it as much as I did. Afterwards we got to relax in the romantically lit, serene garden spaces to complete a beautiful evening of excellent food both for the body and for the soul.

Amazing Vegetarian Food - If you have never been - ask how it flows There are many regulars that go faithfully everyday and they are harmless. You pay first - fixed price $12 - I think (dessert is another $4.00 - worth trying once) Get your salad and soup, tea or water, and utensils/napkin. Ready now to sit where ever is available now. Once your done (I was told no seconds on starters) The go back to the soup salad area and ask the server for your main meal/plate. I have been there and the server will brought over the main plate (not exactly sure how that worked) It was Latino Enchiladas Wednesday (Taco too sometimes). Breakfast is good also. These pictures are lunch.

Healthy, yet tasty vegan food! The experience starts when you step foot on the property. There are multiple businesses on this property all owned by the same person, and its a very zen vibe as youre walking up. Theres one thing on the menu each time you go, so you basically just tell them how many plates you need and pay. The entire kitchen is open so you can see everything happening and the plates being prepared. You grab one of the plates (theyre all the same) and go find a place to sit. Big dining area so lots of options to sit indoors, and then there are some spots outside on the patio as well. If you choose to sit outside, youll see a daycare playground, as well as the rest of the courtyard area. The food itself is delicious! My favorite always are the beans and the spring salad mix with some kind of peanut sauce, I think. The plates are always well balanced and good portions.Casa de Luz is a very unique dining experience compared to the rest of Austin. A little pricey, but its a good business to help support and keep alive!

The Austin standard for salubrious cuisine, a place whose ethos holds up the very roof – this creed is painted above the entrance to remind you as you leave, why you must return soon. There is parking across the street if you need it. What you need to know is that theres a set menu here. You pay a fixed amount for drink, salad, soup and a lunch/dinner plate. For children, you pay less, and they figure out the price depending on their age. You can also ask them to just pay for soup and salad. They also have a variety of amazing desserts to choose from at the price of $4 in addition to your set meal. You could also just come for dessert if youre not hungry and want a fun little spot to relax for a bit. The first thing that draws your attention when you enter is the incredible aroma from the open kitchen. The acoustics create a mere murmur of the people talking at the various community tables. So its easy to come for a quite meal on your own, with a date, or with a group to share wonderful conversation. Grab tea, soup, and salad to start. By the time you finish that, they will present you with a nourishing plate of the daily meal. What will keep you coming back is that the food makes you feel amazing - nourished and clean inside. This is the greatest health food restaurant in the Southern United States. It’s not simply because the food is incredible and distinct, the prices are reasonable, the environment is tranquil and beautiful, the location is perfect, or that the staff is kind. It’s that Casa De Luz expresses a beautiful world view with their restaurant. While still maintaining excellent service, they bring you into a simpler time, where food is made and served by loving hands in community with one another. They have resisted the corporate greed of the health food movement, as exemplified by restaurants like True Food. Unlike most their competitors, Casa De Luz is the real deal. It is a place where eating healthy is not a marketing scheme, but a part of a life filled with love. For any type of eater, this place will expand your imagination on what a restaurant can be. Go there and enjoy what they have to offer. Love this place!! Great food, friendly / helpful staff, and a beautiful area to eat outside. I recently moved to Austin and Casa de Luz has quickly become one of my favorite spots! I highly recommend checking it out. ☺️

THE BEST EVER! I wasn’t expecting this at all. The food is delicious, smart, and good for you. The way man is supposed to be eating. The environment is peaceful and encourages you to live in the moment. Give this place a chance!
