I cant vouch for their competitiveness. Fencing is not the most common sport but my daughter had a great experience here and she wants to return.

The farthest you will get fencing at AFC is the recreational level.Austin Fencers Club claims to be a nationally competitive club, but they are not. The coach pushes fencers to compete nationally but only trains them for the recreational level. Attendance at competitive practices is sparse.If you are an adult looking for some light exercise, this may be a viable option. Otherwise, do not fence at AFC.

I fenced here for over 10 years and it completely changed my life. I received some of the best training here and was able to compete nationally for many years.

Eric Mallett is an excellent coach. My son has been in the program for 3 years and we have no plans to leave the club any time soon.
