Dr. Amar and his instruction unlocked a number of more efficient methodology and insightful tools to diagnosing and conquering the exam.I initially took on some 1-on-1 coaching to address some specific aspects of the GRE after studying on my own at first. Once I took the exam, I realized that my approach and methodology needed a considerable amount of adjustment. It was at this point where Dr. Amar suggested taking his GMAT class. I know that sounds odd considering its difference with the GRE, but allow me to rationalize. There is a considerable amount of transferable topics and skills that overlap between the two exams. The biggest one involving the subjects and problem solving that appear in the quant sections.Where the GMAT differs from the GRE is that the former involves a heavy amount of word problems and data sufficiency questions that are rigorous but separate sections. While there are word problems in the GREs quant section, the format contains a slight combination of data sufficiency with the problems themselves.Dr. Amar suggested taking the GMAT class with the notion that if I could keep up with the math in the course, the GREs quant would be a breeze. The class involves an introduction of each type of GMAT exam problem with a thorough and effective tools to solve both Verbal and Quant. This is mixed with spending time solving a variety of the most rigorous practice problems. While it was challenging, the course went a long ways helping me towards diagnosing problems and then solving them as efficiently as possible.I can say that the methodology worked wonders. By dedicating practice time on the more challenging problems, I felt way more confident and calm taking the actual GRE than I ever did prior to the course.I took the class in order to boost my Quant results and the coursework translated wonderfully to my exam results. My GRE quant score elevated from a 153 to a 161, putting me in a far more appealing position as an MBA candidate.A friend of mine recommended Dr. Amar to me and I am very grateful to both of them for helping me unlock my potential and capabilities. If youre seriously considering an MBA, I highly recommend signing up for Dr. Amars course.

I started with Austin GMAT review in the fall of senior year in college. I did private tutoring with Dr. Amar for the GRE and received an incredible score. We worked together for several weeks and he was an incredible tutor. I learned so much that was helpful for all of my classes even outside of the GRE. Then I worked very closely with Elaine on my resume, essays, and graduate school applications for a masters in marketing. We worked together for months and she was incredibly insightful and patient. She also helped me prep for all of my interviews. I was not denied from a single school. Because of my work with Elaine, I was waitlisted at USC, accepted with a scholarship to Purdue University, accepted to the University of Pennsylvania, and accepted to Vanderbilt university on a merit scholarship. I will be at Vanderbilt in the fall and I could not be more excited. Elaine helped me transform my essays and my applications. I would not have been able to do it without her and Dr. Amar. THANK YOU!

I had an incredible experience working with Elaine on my MBA applications. She has a wealth of knowledge on the overall process and individual details. I developed a clear understanding of each school and how to best position myself to them. Prior to cracking the application essays, we had long calls discussing my intentions to apply, my background, and my goals. I uncovered traits and factors that I didnt realize were significant in my career development, that I would end up writing about to the admissions committee. She guided me through trial-and-error and lots of back-and-forth exchange in the essays and interview prep (and overall, with my abundance of questions). I was confident in submitting my application and knew that I had presented myself accurately and effectively. I received interviews from 3 out of 4 schools that I applied to and was accepted into a top-tier school. I truly could not have done it without her guidance.

Austin Elite Prep was of great help in my application process to business schools. I can definitely say that the service and help I received from the MBA essay review surpassed my expectations. When I began my application process I felt overwhelmed and kind of lost. Elaine helped me through it in a way that was both very professional and friendly, which made me enjoy working with her. Moreover, Dr. Amar was the best help possible in preparing for standardized tests. Every lesson was so clear and the help very personalized. I fully recommend Austin Elite Prep and I really hope more people can use this great resource to successfully reach their educational goals.

I highly recommend Austin Elite Prep for both GRE tutoring and MBA admissions interview prep.I felt that I had exhausted all of my resources for self-study on the GRE Quant section, and although Id managed to increase my initial cold score by 5 points, I still was not able to pass my goal score on Quant. Dr. Amar came highly recommended by a friend, so I decided to reach out and sign up for 1:1 tutoring to focus in on my weaknesses. I did a total of 5 private sessions with Dr. Amar over the course of three weeks, and he helped me surpass my goal and raise my Quant score by another 5 points. Dr. Amar is extremely intelligent, kind, and is able to clearly distill problems and help you find the strategy that works best for you in solving. He is very responsive and available for bookings at all hours. He went above & beyond by inviting me to join his group GMAT quant classes which exposed me to new strategies and tricks.Upon receiving an invite to interview with my top program, I decided to work with Elaine for 1:1 mock interview prep. Elaine is incredible and brings great knowledge and perspective of the interview process. She provided me with a very comprehensive list of commonly asked questions to prepare for, and spent nearly 8 hours with me practicing and providing thorough feedback to my responses. I could tell that my MBA program interviewer was very impressed, and Im sure that was due to Elaines incredible input which ensured I was 100% ready for the interview with a thoughtful response to each and every question.I was able to get into my top school with a significant scholarship, thanks to Dr. Amar and Elaine!

I highly recommend Austin Elite Prep for both standardized testing prep, and MBA admissions consulting. After taking the GRE with minimal preparation and getting a mediocre score, I signed up for the GRE prep course with David. The virtual classroom environment was extremely engaging, never moved too fast, and always ensured everyone understood the concepts. Due to my busy, and unpredictable work schedule, I was invited to sit in Dr. Amar’s GMAT classes if I needed to make up a GRE class. I also received 1-on-1 tutoring for Dr. Amar, who is not only extremely smart and kind, but is able to break down concepts and problems in such a way to ensure I understood how to solve the problem. He also always made himself available at times which worked for me even if late at night. Between the course and Dr. Amar’s help, I was able to raise my GRE score 12 points in only 2 months.Working with Elaine as my MBA admissions consultant was truly invaluable. She is a wealth of knowledge and was able to guide me throughout the whole process. She truly cares deeply for each of her clients, and that can be seen in the time she invests in you through research, linking you in with past clients, and effort she puts into any product or question you give her. She helped me understand what my goals were, and used that to help shape my narrative for the right schools. She knew how to translate my military experiences into resume that would help highlight my skills and experiences to admissions. Through a lot of back-and-forth she was able to help me craft strong essays that all helped me go 4/4 on interview invitations. Her interview prep is unparalleled. We spent probably 12 total hours preparing and because of her thoroughness, I came out each interview knowing I was 100% ready for that interview.I got into my #2 program with significant scholarship, and was waitlisted for my #1 school, which is a top 5 program. I would not have had this success without the help of Austin Elite Prep.

I highly recommend Austin Elite Prep for both GRE and GMAT tutoring and/or class. I took the comprehensive GRE course with Dave (verbal & quant) remotely due to covid; I was nervous about not taking the class in person, in fear that it would overall be difficult to stay engaged, but this wasn’t the case. Dave made sure to make the course engaging and a comfortable learning environment for all of us (about 6 ppl). Dr. Amar is extremely intelligent and kind- always making himself available either in the early morning or late evening to answer questions that I had on practice tests and/or practice problems.Although I took the GRE, I was invited to join some GMAT classes to practice more quant and verbal (specifically reading passages). This was so helpful and appreciated, as it allowed me to learn different approaches from other students in the class and Dr. Amar really enforces active learning, which forces you to pay attention and stay engaged. After paying for a course, you’re also allowed to retake the course FREE however many times you’d like! I’m super grateful to have been a student of both Dr. Amar and Dave! 10/10 recommend.Because of Austin Elite Prep, I was able to get into my top 3 schools WITH scholarship.

Elaine and the entire Austin Elite Team were amazing. I always received candid and quick feedback from Elaine. During the application process, I wrote my essays and sent them into her for review. Then it became a dialogue between us. She never wrote anything for me but made recommendations for edits. If I ever felt strongly about a certain phrasing or structure it was my essay and I was free to keep those aspects. The interview prep was exactly what I needed. For each interview i had, Elaine and I spent 2-3 hrs going over potential questions and continuing to ensure my experiences translated properly. For GRE preparation, Dr Amar helped me raise my score substantially in a short period of time. If I had more time to study with him I could have easily increased my scores to the top. Very easy to work with and accommodating.

I have had nothing short of an excellent experience while working with Elaine during the MBA admissions process. She has been accommodating to my full time work schedule, knowledgeable with all of my target schools, and her advice has been candid and effective. My results so far have been of the 5 schools I applied to, I got interviews with 4 (2 are top 5 and 1 top 10) and so far 1 acceptance (Yale). I expect more positive results so far and I would not hesitate to recommend friends and family to work with AEP.

I used Austin Elite Prep for my GRE preparations. I love them! After being out of school for over ten years, the material for the test was overwhelming when i started on my own, which is what got me to seek Elite prep out. After taking their 6 week course and following a study schedule they provided for the three weeks prior to the test, i felt confident walking in for the test come test day. I got the score i was hoping for too! The classes I took were with Dave, he definitely knows his stuff and gives lots of test taking tips for the GRE. I also loved that they allow you to repeat any classes if you want/need! And even though studying for a test like the GRE is never fun, i actually enjoyed the classes because i felt like i was really learning things. Thank you Austin Elite Prep!

I had the best experience under Prof. Amar! He helped me get 321 ( V = 158; Q =163) This would not have been possible without his guidance, support and encouragement. Some of the aspects of the class are that you can attend a particular class again and again. Every Sunday there is a math session in which you can bring in your queries. In math, there are multiple ways to solve problems, but Prof. Amar will teach you the easiest approach that will get you to the solution easily. I would highly recommend his 1:1 coaching sessions as well. He pointed out the areas in which I was making a mistake and that helped me a lot. His verbal strategies are also beneficial. I would definitely suggest joining this institute for GRE/GMAT prep!

This is an absolutely terrible company! Do not use. After paying over $1,000, Dr. Amar told my fiance that he wasnt making enough money tutoring him so would no longer work with him. His excuse for doing this was for my fiance trying to cancel a session over 7 hours in advance when he was sick and running a fever. So much for working within your time frame for individual sessions. This place is a joke. Theres 1-2 guys scamming money from people under the guise of being able to help you. In reality, your a meal ticket for them that they will exploit until theres a better offer. I have nothing good to say about our experience with them!

Dave and Dr. Amar are phenomenal teachers. I took their GRE course, but Im sure their GMAT course is excellent as well. Austin Elite Prep is very up to date in terms of materials and resources for whichever test you may need. They are extremely flexible and accommodating to your schedule. The class they teach covers all the bases youll need for the math section and offers many strategies for the reading & writing sections. I also had several 1 on 1 sessions with Dave, who was immensely helpful. He and Dr. Amar are both very good at finding areas that you may need improvement in, as well as teaching the solutions to you in a way that is easy to understand. Definitely worth the money and the time. My scores would not have been what they were without these guys!

The individually tailored tutoring I received from Austin Elite Prep exceeded all my expectations. Dr. Amar did a great job identifying my specific weaknesses and then targeting my lessons towards those areas. Moreover, he used various strategies to teach each concept, not stopping until I was confident I understood the material. He also provided me with homework assignments to complete between each lesson and as the only student I was held accountable, which motivated me to complete the work. Throughout the tutoring Dr. Amar was extremely supportive and encouraging, which I know contributed to my increasing each of my scores. Specifically, I raised verbal from 150 to 157, Quantitative from 147 to 156, and Analytical Writing from 4.0 to 4.5. I would unequivocally recommend Austin Elite Prep to anyone wanting to improve their GRE scores!

I usually do not write many reviews but Austin Elite Prep deserves the time. I got referred to Dr. Amar and Elaine Conces by a couple of friends who had successfully received MBA admissions after using their services. To say it has been one of the best investments in my life is an understatement. For starters, I took the GRE a year before I started working with Dr. Amar and my scores were not good. Dr. Amar and I worked on my GRE prep, for someone like myself who had graduated 6 years before I met him, my math skills were shallow. Dr. Amar was able to break down quantitative concepts in layman terms while giving me tricks on how to ace the test. My scores significantly improved after using his services. The main thing I liked about working with Dr. Amar was how he was able to assess my weaknesses and fill the gaps during our sessions. I highly recommend him, especially if you have been out of school for multiple years.Elaine, Dr. Amars colleague is just phenomenal. She focused on my overall application outside of the testing. She transformed my resume into a one-page business school friendly one, prepared me with tips for admission events and correspondences, edited my essays and prepared me for interviews. I felt confident going into my interviews as she knows what these top MBA programs seek in their ideal candidates. What I like the most about her is, she goes above and beyond when she believes you are a serious client. I will highly highly recommend her and the Austin Elite Prep to ALL my family and friends who have aspirations of doing a FT MBA in a top 20 program.

I was given 20 days to improve my scores. Given the very tight time restraints from my target school Dr. Amar was able to help me with one on one tutoring to increase my scores to the needed amount. Dr. Amar is a very good teacher and takes interest in every one of his students to ensure their success. I highly recommend Dr. Amar and Austin Elite Prep.

If I knew Dr. Amar Before I would have saved a lot of time, stress and money on the studying for the test. I believe this course is the best choice to study for several reasons:One of the most professional and intelligent people I have ever known, DR. Amar is a PHD in Physics from Berkeley and has an MBA from MIT Sloan. Since the courses are small and intensive, people can really see his commitment with every student to do better. I improved from percentile 17% to 85%, that was amazing! I am really happy about my grade and grateful with Dr. Amar and DaveI think his scientific background helps him detect immediately what are the weaknesses each person has and helps them turn those weaknesses in to strengths. Basically he studies the way you, individually, think and approach problems and then explains you which is the best way solve those problems. In fact he proves and explains why some techniques are better than others and why are these techniques less time consuming. He helps you see problems from a conceptual way, boosting your logic to approach each problem.Their mantra or the reason for what this prep school exists is to help people do better. It might sound superficial but you can see, prove and even ask others how this is so true....

Dave is awesome! I took the GRE Math Course and was the only person who signed up. Other test prep agencies (like Kaplan) would have dropped me from their class, but Austin Elite Prep didnt! He was also really flexible with my schedule, which I really appreciated. When Dave was unavailable before my exam, Dr. Amar stepped in and helped me! I learned math concepts from them, but I was also struggling with general test-taking skills. We were able to pinpoint what I was struggling with and Dave helped me come up with test day strategies. My quantitative percentile increased from 28% to 52% after taking his class. I highly recommend working with Austin Elite Prep. Everyone is so encouraging and they really want you to succeed. You wont regret it!

I do not think 5 star rating does justice to the 1-1 coaching with Dr. Amar, personally I think he deserves more. He equips you with proven techniques to answer difficult questions and goes out of his way to make sure you understand the concept behind it. I was struggling with English comprehension but after applying Dr. Amars techniques I was able to score better than I expected. On my mock test I scored 147 in English, after training I got 156 in my first attempt. He also helped me polish my math scores, even though my Math concepts were strong I was unable to score well but he showed me a system how to answer trick questions quickly and effectively without just taking a wild swing at it.He is not just a good tutor but also a good counselor, always positive and never discouraging. Anyone who wants a 1-1 tutoring, I would highly recommend Dr. Amar and his team. They not only helped me get a good score but also guided me regarding various admission processes. The best part was he was flexible with timings and always available for help without charging anything extra. He was a life saver for me.

Dr. Amar is a fantastic tutor. Before I did sessions with him 1 on 1, I studied using all the expensive prep books but my scores werent where I wanted them to be in quant. Dr. Amar honed in on my weak points and gave me time-saving, concrete strategies to solve problems that were tripping me up and costing me a lot of points. His approach to problems were unique in that they were much easier to understand/perform than strategies suggested in the other materials I read. By the end, I felt like I truly had a grasp on even the more challenging math concepts and I (almost) enjoyed doing practice problems. Dr. Amar is also a natural mentor -- he is very friendly, encouraging and supportive. He was the first person I called after I took my test! I scored well and got into my school of choice. If you want to do the same, I highly suggest doing classes with him.I also worked with his associate Elaine, who specializes in MBA app + interview prep. She was incredibly knowledgeable, honest and fun to work with. I walked into my MBA interview with a lot of confidence thanks to her help. Elaine is genuinely invested in your success and it shows. I have personally met other MBA students who have worked with her and they all have nothing but very positive things to say. I highly recommend working with Elaine if you plan to apply to an MBA program. I cant thank her enough!

Daves and Dr. Amars gifted teaching dramatically improved my GRE scores, taking my numbers more than 20 points above the average needed for acceptance at my schools. I count the Austin Elite Prep learning experience as one of the most transformative of my life, giving me a relationship with math I never thought possible. Dr. Amar and Dave meet you where you are, sit across a table from you, and somehow make it feel like a game or an adventure covering the material. There are so few people in the class, it might as well be one-on-one tutoring. Their creativity, patience, compassion, and contagious enthusiasm scaffold each student every step of the way. They invite phone calls and emails with questions. They allow you to retake sessions if you want to. I called them to verbal high-five after the GRE before I even called my family. I doubt either of them ever forgets a students name. I know I wont forget theirs. Thank you, Dave and Dr. Amar, for believing in me and awakening my potential.

I cannot overstate how thankful I am for having Austin Elite Prep on my side throughout my GRE journey (& the MBA admissions process – Dr. Amar is a graduate of MIT LGO program). As an Army officer stationed at Fort Hood, one of my greatest challenges when preparing for the GRE was how unpredictable my schedule was. For veterans (or any student), you can always make up classes, so no need to worry (just let Dr. Amar know ahead of time).I enjoyed 1-1 tutoring sessions with Dr. Amar. His schedule was very flexible, and Dr. Amar constantly motivated me to work harder (i.e. drill sergeant of test prep). During each tutoring session, Dr. Amar quickly identified my weaknesses and taught me how to approach the problem “conceptually and logically.” His teaching style is very efficient and effective. Simply put, he does not waste time and teaches you proven techniques. In addition to the GRE prep, Dr. Amar and Elaine (VP of graduate programs) helped me with the MBA admissions process. They constantly host MBA sessions at their Austin headquarters, and provide free mentorship and strategy to tackle applications. For example, I attended their info session with MIT Sloan this past summer. It was very helpful. Free lunch, too!Dr. Amar and Austin Elite Prep, thank you again for your help. I highly recommend Austin Elite Prep to anyone, specifically veterans, wanting to improve their GRE scores and increase their MBA admissions chances.
