Our two grandchildren recently graduated from Northwest Montessori, which they’ve attended since they were 18 months old. They would enthusiastically belt out the school song, describing it as “the best school of all!” and that has indeed been the case. The transition to public school has been easy thanks to the excellent academic, social and emotional foundation created by the staff. It’s been a joy to watch the children thrive and grow, and we are very grateful for the loving and skilled attention provided to our family and the wider NWMHC community

I cant say enough wonderful things about Northwest Montessori. I have had two kids go through the entire program, and we have all loved it. The teachers are amazing; they make an effort to get to know each kid for who they are. Teacher and administrator turnover is incredibly low compared to the daycare my kids attended before NWM and the elementary school after. The teachers possess a magical quality of teaching the kids in a way that they learn a ton and actually enjoy it. Your kids will be more than prepared for kindergarten.

Our family LOVES Northwest Montessori! We had both of our kids there starting at 1.5 years old until they went to elementary school. If we could have kept them there through high school, we would have. The teachers are fantastic (many have been there for 15, some 20+ years), our kids were always treated with love, we never worried about them, and importantly they developed a LOVE of learning! I dont know what sort of magic they used, but our kids would come home beaming about science projects, learning ALL of the states and capitals, multiplication and division... The list goes on. This is an excellent school for your pre-schoolers

My son attended Northwest Montessori for 3.5 years (when he turned 3 through 6.5 years old). We loved our experience at this amazing school! The teachers and staff truly care about our children, and they give our kids a phenomenal (and fun!) education. I truly appreciated how thoughtful and careful the school has been during the pandemic to keep all of us safe. We loved our experience at NWM - as sad as we are to leave, were grateful for the lovely experience weve had with the school and know that our son is set up for success at his new school! Thank you, NWM!!

After three wonderful years at NWM, our daughter will be leaving this fall to attend first grade at Brentwood Elementary. We have watched her blossom and grow in the Montessori environment. The teachers are loving, kind, and open and its been such a great experience for her. We feel she is leaving well-prepared for the next chapter.

This is a fantastic, fantastic school. We considered many other area schools both more and less expensive, and we picked NWM because it seemed like the right balance of cost and quality. Today, at the end of our time at NWM, we look back and see the cost is really a bargain for the high quality education our daughter received. We could not be happier. Our daughter started at 18 months in the youngest class, and she stayed through the oldest class. The teachers are terrific. Our daughter learned far more than we could have imagined: social skills, independence, how to work in a group, how to work alone, what it means to be a good citizen in society, art, creativity, self-esteem, self-confidence, self-control, self-expression, play, experimentation, and best of all a ton of academics including reading, math, science, history, geography and more. We all cried on her last day at NWM because it was such an excellent start to her education. We give it the highest possible recommendation.

My son started Northwest Montessori when he was 20 months old. It has been the best decision we have made. We credit the teachers and administrators for helping him grow into a curious, thoughtful and fun-loving toddler. I would highly recommend this school to other parents.

My oldest (now 3.5) has been at Northwest Montessori for 2 full years now, and its a WONDERFUL place. She has thrived in every sense of the word since her arrival here. As we have now moved through different classrooms as she has aged, I can say from experience that the school is uniformly excellent. As soon as my youngest is old enough, shell be at Northwest Montessori, too!

My 4 1/2 year old started at Northwest Montessori at 2 and every class he has been in and every teacher has been wonderful. He not only knows what you would expect from a preschool environment, how to write his name, recognizing letters and numbers, etc. but he also knows the oceans, the continents, what foods are eaten in China, the stages of matter, how to work out disagreements, how to work in a team environment and so much more. The school focuses on where your child is at and helps them to advance socially, emotionally, academically and physically. Highly recommend the school.

I rely heavily on reviews, and always appreciate the ones that have the pertinent details people are looking for. So, heres my contribution to the online community. I have 2 children enrolled, ages 3 and 5. Both attended starting at the age or 2. Each class has one lead teacher and 2 assistants. Theres an excellent mix of learning and play. My child turned 5 in July, and she is able to read and write simple books completely on her own, and more difficult ones with occasional assistance. She is currently learning simple addition and subtraction. Apparently, but the time shes done with kindergarten, she should be able to do simple fractions. They are able to present it in a fun way, b/c she comes home eager to show me what shes learned. The teachers are warm, friendly and affectionate with the children. They are always open to taking time and discussing any concerns with the parents. We are always sad when they move on to the next class up b/c their teacher was so wonderful, but then quickly learn that the next one is fantastic as well. The only minor negative is the occasional TV time. I appreciate the wide diversity among the students, parents and staff, if that is of interest to prospective families. They also offer classes during daytime hours, making it easier on working parents to expose their children to more activities such as foreign language (Spanish and Chinese), dance, gymnastics, computer.

Because of Northwest Montessori, our soon-to-be kindergartener has grown to LOVE school. When we received information about what is expected of incoming kindergarten students at her new elementary school, we were so pleasantly surprised to realize that she covered almost all of those skills as a three year old at Northwest Montessori. She has now moved far beyond those basic kindergarten expectations. Shes reading books, writing short stories, doing fractions, can name all fifty states and their capitals, knows all 45 U.S. presidents in order, and has a grasp of world geography. Recently, she pointed at an incline ramp and said, An inclined plane in an example of a simple machine. Last night she taught us all about the kookaburra! We did a lot of research to find the right school for our kids. No other school we looked at came close to having the ratios this school maintains. Some of the other schools claimed to follow the state required guidelines, but in practice, we learned that they stretched their teachers very thin and often only met those guidelines during pick-ups, drop-offs, and tours. I have always been impressed with the number of eyes on our children at any time of the day. There are always more than enough teachers to provide the kind of nurturing and supervision kids this age need. I have also been so impressed with the ways in which the teachers and administrators at this school seem to support one another and appear to have strong cooperative relationships with each other. We could not be happier with Northwest Montessori. Our kids have been loved and nurtured and have grown so much over the past 4 years. Northwest Montessori has a wonderful group of teachers throughout the school who communicate well, seem to be naturally gifted in their work with children and know how to engage kids to want to learn.

My son attended NWM from 18 months-5 years. He really enjoyed his time at the school and excelled in kindergarten last year. This school year he has been accepted into the gifted & talented program and I feel NWM had a hand in helping him go above and beyond as a student. Another bonus is the school is very diverse and the kids learn about several different cultures. I highly recommend Northwest Montessori if you want your child to be confident and have an strong academic foundation.

This is a great school! We had two children at NWM for three years. It could not have been a better experience! The school is well-organized, child-centered, and diverse. Staff are experienced and provide a warm, caring environment. Our children entered first grade well ahead of their peers, and best of all, they love to learn. They will never forget Ms. Ali and their other teachers at NWM!

We sent our son to NWM from age 2.5 to 5, and we have been SO happy there. We had tried two different schools before coming to NWM, and nothing compared to how kind and accommodating the staff and teachers were to my child. I also like the frequent email updates and pictures that the school sends out so that you can see what your kid is doing all day. Plus, the school is a ton of FUN--they have so many theme days and activities and even a science fair. I feel that my son is 100% prepared for kindergarten because of NMW and wouldnt hesitate to recommend this wonderful place to others.

Between constant changes, not being introduced to new caretakers/teachers, and the investigation for abuse, we had enough to complain about before pulling our child out of this place. However, the day he came home with two broken teeth? Yeah, that was the day we knew something had to be done. Not recommended.

My son has grown so much academically, socially, mentally, and emotionally since he started at NWM a year ago. I was very hesitant to move my son from his other preschool and researched many other schooling/care options. From the first week at NWM, my son felt welcome and cared for. He tells me at least once a week how much he loves his Montessori School. The material the children learn is great and the teachers are awesome and loving. They do fun, educational projects and put on cute, creative presentations. Northwest Montessori has surpassed all my expectations and we are so happy we chose it!!! I definitely recommend it to everyone:)A Caring Mother,Courtney Sikes
