So, were new in this school. but i already have the idea hows Montessori teaching is to the kids. ive read every comment and i do understand every parent concern and experiences. so far my son have started since AUG.3 he was supposed to start since april but due to covid and us moving in a diff area it made me push back. but so far things seems going very well with our son. ive never seen him happy and excited to get up in the morning at 7am for a 2 yr old. just to go to school. on top of that ive seen a lot of diff in him, even before ive started molding him to some kind of learning at home. he shows a lot of interest in learning, his a quick learner and very observant. on top of that we do follow up skills on him every after end of school week like weekend. to see if he remembers all the things he learn in school and he does. I dont know all the staff yet pretty well ive met some, but never got the chance to meet them personally and get to know them. hopefully that will come soon. but for the most part i like them. i know if something is not right about someone, my son can see and feel the same way. so far no signs of anything which is great! so im glad that his enjoying this school, and learning quick and hope it will stays that way. looking forward for all the adventures of my son in OWM. and im glad that they always sent me updates and pictures of his progress. in that way i feel ease that everything is ok.

We love OWM, our child has been there since he was 8 months old and he is 3.5 now. He has learned so much, he is very independent and such a happy kid. Definively the best school in town. THank you Ms Janee for all the hard work, Ms Phong, Ms. Daisy, Ms. Flor, Ms. Ashley and all the team, you rock.

Both of our children have been at OWM since they were 6 months, starting in November of 2015, and we have had a fantastic early childhood education experience here. The teachers truly are, they love the kids, and we have seen so much developmental progress. The pre-K kids are beyond Kinder ready when leaving OWM. We also formed a great community among the amazing other parents and kiddos with birthday parties weekend after weekend.Over the years there was turnover with the administration at the front, and the current Director, Angelica, and Assistant Director, Janee, are an incredible team. We are lucky to have them!In 2020 OWM has handled the re-opening of the school during the COVID pandemic really well given the challenging circumstances. Their detailed emergency preparedness plan is constantly updated and communicated to parents. We truly love the diversity and community at OWM, and are sad to be leaving here as we move to a different part of Austin.

I am here to respond to Ms. Daisy’s acquisitions.I’m wearing 2 hats (parent & teacher/co-worker) and both will show that her response to being “let go” is just a false flag.As a parent, I love my child’s environment, and her teachers. And sure Ms.Daisy is sweet & caring. It’s the least skill/ qualification you should have when working at this school. But that’s about it, I don’t think my child could learn anything from her as she has shown to be incapable of keeping an environment safe and clean. She dresses improper (showing off too many cracks and skin) and ditched the children and teachers, way too many times! As a teacher/ co-worker, there are many things to mention:Jodi & Suma are great administrators, who are trusty and will give you chances to get your act together. Ms.Daisy has abused that trust with her team, by always coming in late, calling in last-minute or even stay out w/o notice! Expecting the team to cover up/ fill in, for the lack of her responsibilities. The team questioned and was not happy when learning about her being hired again. But she would do as a floater, and even that was too much for her...Calling out that you will send Inspection investigate, every time you disagree, shows how immature you really are. You have wasted the inspectors time, and everything is just fine.Last and not least, there are many teachers who have been here around since it first opened its doors 10 years ago. Some come and go. Some who go, come back. And prior to starting here, I’ve worked and looked at other schools. Now, I’ve been around 5 years and I’m not planning to go anywhere. Like many teachers who have been around, we are happy with all that school has to offer.

I have had my children at both campuses and I have the up most respect for the director,Jodi, and the entire staff! My son attends the infant room and the women are the most loving and caring teachers! My daughter is in the toddler room and personally, as a teacher, I knew what I wanted and the type of environment I wanted my children to be in while I was at work and the teachers and curriculum exceeds every expectation I had! My children are able to thrive in a safe and loving community. As a mother there is nothing else I could ask from them! The campus is clean, the staff is friendly, professional and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my children! They truly love all the children as if they were their own!

I feel very strongly to respond to Ms.Daisys review. She was an assistant in my room and she used to call in always the last minute or no calls at all.she was upset because she was let go,I strongly disagree with all the acquisition.I have been here for 5 years and there have been no chances for Mrs.Jodi to raise her voice at me.When you do your job perfectly there is no need for the management to be harsh at you. Mrs.jodi is highly concerned about the kids, parents and Teachers. she already quit the job previously and Mrs.jodi gave her two chances but she was not faithful to use it.

I like this school. My son is from China, and he doesnt speak English at all, in first 3 weeks, he cried in the morning, and he stopped after 3 weeks. And I do see the effort of his teacher, the teacher was asking for the Chinese word of for some important things... and she even learned Chinese song. And my son finally got motivated and started enjoying to go to school....

Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience with this school. We were told by email and in person in January that they had a spot for our daughter to start in September. We were told we only had to put down $150 deposit to hold her spot. We emailed in June to check in with the school, and over a month later (and about a month till our daughter was supposed to start) we received an email stating that we no longer had a spot in September. No apology, no attempt on their end to fix the situation, no details on when we would have a spot. Just a vague suggestion that perhaps their other branch might have a spot.Considering this was a major screw up on their end they should have at least called and tried to figure a way to fix the situation (rather than emailing me on a Friday at 5). After emailing them back telling them that this was unacceptable, they responded that the deposit was not a guarantee for a spot (definitely not what they communicated via email and in person previously). This seems to be a pattern judging from the other reviews, which I wish I would have seen before I decided to give this place a try. Waste of $150 and more importantly a huge waste of time and unnecessary cause of stress and drama during my paternity leave.

I love this school! My child is in the infant room and they take extraordinary care of him. The caretakers in the room really seem to love children. They treat them like they would their own babies. I hang out in there when I drop and pick him up and they never seem to slack off or seem tired. The caretakers in the infant rooms are always the same. Ive never seen subs or switching of teachers around at ALL. So i see the same 4 teachers every day taking care of my child. So far almost every day, they take the babies outside for some fresh air and play time. They bring out a very large mat and a bunch of toys and things for the younger babies to sit in. The babies love watching the older kids play around them. They encourage socializing with the older kids under strict supervision. They take a group of the babies that can sit up out on these group strollers. They sing and read to the babies everyday even in the youngest infant room. They never leave the babies in their cribs awake unless it is nap time for the specific child. They make sure to do plenty of tummy time with the babies. They do some cute crafts with the infants. The diapers are changed very often and feedings, diaper changes, and naps are logged very accurately. You get a copy of the log everyday when you leave. The ratio is really nice too. Its 3 teachers throughout the main part of the day for 10 babies. As it winds past 5pm or before 830am, there are 2 teachers if there are less than 8 babies.I dont have any experience in the older rooms but for the infant rooms, I cannot imagine my child anywhere else.

Had a terrible experience. Reserved a spot for my child for a date and when it got closer to the date they told me things were messed up at this location and they didnt have any availability for another couple months. Really made it hard for me with work commitments. I had to rush to shop for schools again and finally found one I liked. Be sure you look for a place for your child that actually knows what they are doing.

Hi, was just let go and wanted to speak about Ms.Jodi and her perfect school mmmm where do I start well as an employee we should at least get talked to with respect but no every time we speak to her she always I mean ALWAYS raises her voice at us but to her she is not. She also likes to hide whats going on at her school there was an incident were a teacher pulled out the blanket from underneath the childs foot and caused him to hit the corner of a shelf and had a huge KNOT told the teacher to change up the story and she proceeded to try and erase the footage if it wasnt for licensing showing up a month later the parents would of never known what actually happened to their child. I wonder what other things SHE IS HIDING FROM THESE PARENTS. When it comes to asking for raises she had told me I would get a raise for sure at 3 months , when those 3 months came she told me no, I got you guys insurance you guys should be happy with that so I was like whatever after a years and a couple months later no raise but I was already expecting a no. She doesnt even pay us overtime. It hurts her so much to give us raises Ms.Jodi has a brand new TESLA LEXUS and other luxury cars but yet cant pay her employees or give them a raise. The only reason why I stayed there to work was for my babies they always made my day. But good luck with Jodi she really only wants your money. She charges thousands of dollars just for your child to have the same breakfast almost every day and lunches would be the same way. Cant even buy new buggies for the infants both buggies have multiple straps broken that can cause a child to fall off but they have been like that ever since I started in may of 2018 and arent going to get fixed any time soon. Sorry this review is just everywhere just had to spill the tea on what really goes on at One World Montessori.Oh and also I dont know what ms.phoung got in return for that review from jodi but Ms.Dolly herself texted me saying that jodi bribed her with a raise to write what she wrote and i have evidence which I myself will send her(Jodi) through Text Msg.xoxo,Ms.Daisy

I think a lot of the bad reviews on here may be related to some clerical issues. They have since made some adjustments to the staff to prevent these types of misunderstandings from happening again. Our 4 year old daughter has been going to this pre-school for about 7 months. Since starting at One World Montessori she has learned a great deal of things. She loves the staff and enjoys her time at school everyday! This school will definitely prep your child for Kindergarten. They offer a great deal of extracurricular activities throughout the week.

My journey of 5 years in Owm was awesome. It was my very first job in Austin,Ms.jodi and Ms.suma were so kind to me, stood by me, supported me a lot all these years, I have learned a lot of good things from this school as a teacher,Ms.jodi and Ms.suma use to greet everyone in a very professional way with a smile, I joined the school as an assistant and then the school supported me and encouraged me to do my certification in Montessori,In three months I was made as a lead teacher for transitional classroom, Ms.jodi and Ms.suma supported me a lot as a teacher, they always listens to our request and make sure what they can do to make us happy, we really do have a good resource in this school, even if u need something for the class ms.suma provides us immediately, not as a teacher even as a parent I had wonderful moments with the school, My kid joined owm when she was 2 years old , her journey in montessori made her shine so beautifully, its only because of the effort of the teachers,ms.suma, ms.priyanie and ms.deepa.she was blessed to have such good teachers.I am not working anymore in OWM due to personal reasons but the school had given me beautiful memories with loveable parents and kids. There are many good aspects of the school. It is clean and the children learn A LOT. I am only rating it poor in one area and that is the communication style of the staff. One teacher in particular constantly yells at the children and she does it without care in front of parents. If she yells like that in front of parents I hate to see how she treats the children when parents are not around. One of the basic behaviors we try to teach our children is to manage their emotions without yelling. When you have a teacher who is constantly yelling what does that teach the children? The staff in general could you some coaching in emotional intelligence and communication as they can be very cold and impersonal.

Our daughter has attended PCMA during this school year and overall we have enjoyed her time there. This school has given our daughter a solid start to her education. The teachers have done science experiments with the children, many arts and crafts activities, mathematics (at 4 years old), writing, phonics, they have also learned about clouds, gardening, water cycle, water types (river, creek, lake, ocean, etc.) and so much more. If a child is motivated to learn the opportunities will be available. It is enjoyable as a parent when the child points out the type of cloud in the sky, type of butterflies and flowers. The teachers really care for the children. We are also pleased that the school has other activities for the children; ballet, soccer and piano.A bonus for working parents is that the school is open most days of the year.

We have 3 children attending PCMA currently. Our eldest has been attending since only a few months after the school opened and we have never had any sort of negative experience in those 4 years. Our eldest has been in every classroom from Infant B to Primary. All of our children started the school at 1 year of age and started in Infant B. The same lead teacher has been in that class the entire 4 years and she provides exceptional care to every baby entrusted to her. Her assistant teacher has been there for almost as long and Ive never met anyone with the capacity to love babies more than that positive and affectionate woman. I smile every day when I see her. I do know the teachers in Infant A and they are just wonderful. The teachers in Infant C have changed more over the years, but the current lead teacher has been with the school since it opened and I know our youngest is getting great care from all 3 of his loving teachers. The core team in Toddler 1 has been consistent for over 2 years and they do an amazing job with a very challenging age group. The team in Toddler 2 has changed from time to time, but the Teachers placed in that class have always been very soft spoken and nurturing. They have also been invaluable in the process of potty training. The lead teacher in Toddler 3, well, we just love her so! She has truly been a wonderful resource for us in so many ways. The teachers in Primary went through some changes in the last year, but all of the teachers in both classes are really strong and the changes have not had any negative impact on our child, who is quite sensitive and resistant to change in general. The primary teachers do an excellent job of reinforcing boundaries and fostering independence and respect.Collectively, our children have been in the care of every teacher and assistant on staff at some point and I have enjoyed getting to know each and every one of them. I think PCMA has done an exceptional job of staffing the school with kind and nurturing caregivers. I think of them as an extension to our family as we have learned a great deal about parenting from these child care professionals and have partnered with them to overcome challenges at various stages of our children’s development. Their encouragement and support has been a lifesaver for us.Our children are happy and thriving in this environment. They are fed 2 meals a day and snacks. This is huge for our family. I know dozens of the children in the school and have watched them grow with our 2 eldest into bright and eager learners. With our youngest, I am getting to know more of the younger children as well.I have the utmost confidence in this school and the caregivers who choose to work there. I also find the majority of the parents and students attending the school are respectful to one another. Ive personally found myself in situations when I needed a little help, and there was always a parent nearby that didnt hesitate to give me a hand. Ive been fortunate enough to return the favor several times as well. There is a sense of community there, that I really appreciate. The telltale sign for me that my children are happy is that they are NEVER in a hurry to leave at the end of the day. They would much rather keep playing outside or keep working in class. Instead of hurrying to get home, they take time to stop by the other classes and wave at or blow kisses to previous teachers or drop by their siblings classes. I often find myself hurrying to go pick them up a little early only to find they are not ready to leave. That says a lot to me.

Got reference of PCMA from a family friend, took tour of the preschool. School is pretty clean but regret for not paying much attention to many of the reviews that warn about PCMA managements rudeness and money oriented approach.Director lady seemed good during initial visit. While enrolling my child, director told us that they are opening new classes and she would put my child in Toddler2 class. Enrollment was in last week of February15 and so my wife wanted to pay the prorated fees of that week along with registration fees. Director told my wife that Feb last week fee is waived and we should be paying for month of March by first week of March (Surprising!?).On my daughters first day, director took U turn on what she talked earlier and suggested to put my daughter in Toddler1 class. (Toddler1 class had per month $80 extra fees than Toddler2 class). She also added that Toddler1 class has Indian teacher which might help my child while coping with the Indian language my child speaks at home. Personally we had no problem about which class our child gets into but would have liked if director would have kept her words. Other day, my wife spoke to Toddler1 teacher and got to know that teacher was not Indian but Bangladeshi and spoke only Bengali or English - not having a hint of Hindi or other Indian languages. It then added to our list of surprises about PCMA.In 2 days of starting PCMA, my child developed school sickness - throwing up in car when we used to start for PCMA from home. It never happened when my child was going to home day care. After we mentioned it to PCMA teachers - there was no sign of care or help or simple Montessori manners from either of Todder1 class teachers, rather there were questions about whether the child is sick. We tried starving our child in morning until we reach PCMA to avoid throwing up in car. Obviously, we were concerned if our child ate properly or not. Teachers seemed to have no heart casually remarking Kids sometimes dont eat... One day my daughter cried so hard in car and passed out until we reached preschool. Sadly, it was very painful situation for us being parents...Apart from what happened to our child, for entire first week, PCMA didnt create our personal entry code that every parent gets upon enrolling to enter the school doors. They didnt even add our emails on their communication list due which twice we missed their time schedule changes due to weather warnings. Then, by first week of March, while paying March fees, director told my wife that our fees for Feb last week were still due. My wife simply mentioned her words about waiving Feb weeks fees. Sitting at front desk at morning time when most of parents drop their kids, director started talking very rude, loud and making fool of my wife with words Why would I do schooling anyone for free?... It was another U-turn and wrong business attitude we faced and that was end of our patience. We had doctors appointment being concerned about our childs health and got doctors note to discontinue PCMA with immediate effect. Yet we had to face the last rude attitude while collecting the refund fees and belongings. My wife called up director and asked if she is available, she said yes and when my wife visited PCMA, she wasnt there. Front desk lady had no idea on our stuff. Next week we ended up calling PCMA and leaving messages for director to give us a time to collect things. There was no call back. At last when we got director lady on call, she ended up dictating us to stick to our words and be there when time was given!!?? Being irritated by now, we ended up asking her - Do you think we are just sitting idle to keep calling you?... Director simply and of course rudely said I dont know what you do and dont want to know.....???!!We decided to save our words instead wasting on such person and collected our stuff (this time director lady was present in preschool saving our next trip ). Out of our belonging, wipes box was lost!Sorry to say - a very unhappy and unprofessional experience we had with PCMA.

After 2 1/2 years with a nanny in our home, I could tell my child was in need of a more social/academic childcare setting. After touring over 10 schools in the Austin area, I came across PCMA. I was instantly impressed with Mrs. Jodi, the Montessori method, and the school itself. Since this is a review, let me start with the areas I feel they could improve upon. Two of my top priorities are nutrition and physical exercise. You can imagine my surprise when I saw items like hot dogs, fish sticks mac & cheese, pudding and cinnamon toast crunch on the menu. My child never even know any of these unhealthy foods existed before starting school. If my son is going to eat these types of foods, I prefer they be given at my discretion, not offered on a regular basis at school. The other concern I have is the limited outdoor/exercise time the kids get. There is a great playscape there, but due to the heat and rain, playtime has been very restricted. Most days my child comes home bouncing off the walls because they have been cooped up in the classroom all day. It would be great if there was another covered area protected from the sun and rain where they could just run around and be kids for a bit. I also do not especially care for the helpers, as it seems to me they are not as kind and appropriate with the children as the teachers are. Ok, now for the positives: My child has been attending for about a month now, and the adjustment has been a hard one for both of us. However, I could not have asked for more compassionate, caring, supportive teachers and staff to get us thru this transition. Each day we are welcomed by the front desk - by name (how do they remember everyones name?!), and I am told to have a great day as I am leaving. His teachers both welcome us with a big smile and good morning! when we enter the classroom, and they even hug my child hello and good bye. Each day I get not only a written, but also a verbal report on his day, and they have even gone so far as to take pictures of him during the day so I can see that he was safe and happy. They have been extremely patient with all of my questions and concerns, and they are constantly reassuring me that he will adjust in time. Everyone there has really gone above and beyond to welcome and support us. I am very happy to have him there, and I look forward to the day when instead of crying when I leave him, he just says bye mommy!

It is easy to be fooled into thinking this is a quality montessori preschool, however looks, in this case, are deceiving. The facility is nice and new and they keep it clean, however our son had a horrible experience there. He attended for 9 months. I deeply regret allowing him into such a cold, unforgiving environment. I am yet another dissatisfied parent with the behavior of the staff at this school. The director, as stated in many other reviews, is extremely rude, and I can attest to the favoritism to her granddaughter as my child was in her class. My biggest regret other than taking my child in the first place was the length in which I let him stay. I wanted to prep my son for kindergarten, and I thought montessori would be the best route, but I will be soured on montessori forever because of this school. My child became depressed due to the hostile way he was treated in this school. It was gradual, and for too long I just thought he was being a baby, because they were just being stricter. He kept telling me the teachers are so mean, and so my wife and I would go talk to the director but nothing ever changed, and we were told that our child was the problem, not the teacher. The director even yelled at my wife and became red in the face when she questioned a teachers handling of our child. The director was very rude to both my wife and I several times. She is very snippy if you just ask a question. I cant imagine how someone like that is the leader of teachers who work with preschool age children! She has no patience and might even be a resistant social communicator. After several weekends of attitude and anger from our child he finally broke down in tears and in a 4 year olds best ability told us that the teachers are always mean to him, but they have favorites in the class that get to do what he wants to do, and that he hated that school, and that the teachers are mean....he reiterated that many many times. My heart sank, and I still cant forgive myself for keeping him there for so long. He is now in another daycare, and the difference is like night and day. He only has nice things to say about his teachers, and he has his same playful humor back. My child is happy again. In short, dont send your kid to this school. I wanted mine to read so bad before kindergarten that I ignored the signs, and sacrificed his happiness. He has learned more in a few months because of the change in environment than he did the whole time at that horrible school.

She is very experienced and helps parents know how the children are doing at the center and thier improvments/achivements. the childrens day is structured really well and the facility is clean, modern, spacious and well organized. The teachers and staff at PCMA are very kind, compassionate and nurturing; the environment allows the younger children to learn great life skills.
