Terrible experience. They humiliate children and make them feel worthless. They have no sense of Catholic community within the direct administration. My daughter who was a Straight A Student prior to the pandemic, having attended Catholic School her entire life had been accepted to JP2 as a freshman with a scholarship. My daughter chose to attend public school her freshman year during the pandemic, did online school for most of the year. She had a difficult year during the pandemic with depression and online school. She asked to help her return to Catholic Education, public school was not for her. We inquired again about readmission, she went through the interview process. Her old principal from her Catholic Grade School recommended her as well as prior teachers. She was denied the opportunity. My daughter was denied an opportunity to be in the Catholic Education environment because her grades during the pandemic were more of a reflection of her than her 8 years at her Catholic School. She was humiliated and denied for having gone through mental illness like many others did during a life changing pandemic. As soon as I heard she was denied, we immediately talked to Bourgade Catholic and she was admitted in a matter of days. She is now happy to be learning in the Catholic Community, although my commute is now one hour long from Goodyear to Phoenix, we are so grateful to the dedication of real Catholic School leaders like her old principal who cared enough to situate her back to the Catholic learning environment as well as the administration at Bourgade Catholic High School. Having her at Catholic School has changed her entire life for the better again. She is once again back to herself and in an environment she is comfortable at. I really do not recommend St. John Paul to anyone. There is no example of what Christ is truly about. Would Christ deny a child an opportunity to be close to him?. We choose Catholic education so that our children can have an example of a life centered around Christ.

Great school. True sense of community within the classroom. The halls are filled with genuinely good kids who want to succeed.
