I once LOVED this school but since Covid-19 hit, theyve really dropped the ball. There is ABSOLUTELY NO SUPPORT. Ive decided to give up on Maricopa colleges and attend a private school. It may be expensive, but at least they are there. I can no longer recommend this college.

Do not go here. Estrella Mountain has the most unhelpful, incompetent and uncaring staff and professors I have encountered. My staff at my high school put in more effort to help me than these people have. Put a hold on my account, when I called the financial aid office they would not explain the charges and refused to do anything to help and transferred me back and forth. They took my money right away but the hold is still on my account preventing me from obtaining a transcript or signing up for classes. I will be so glad when Im finally able to transfer to ASU and go where the staff cares more about their students.

One of the worst customer services Ive had to deal with.I bought 15$ dollar headphones and I wanted to return them the same day because they couldnt plug into the school computers.I had ask (in the most generous way) if I could get my money back and get different headphones. I just wanted to do my homework on the school computers.Joana (the lady working at the store) stated that you cant return these headphones. Once you open them you cant refund them. In my head, I thought to myself Any student that opens a textbook cant get their money back even if its the wrong textbook?When I first purchased these the same day, she didnt even give me a receipt. she just said thanks & went back on her phone.However, I walked back into the store and then stated that On the receipt that you didnt give me the first time coming to bookstore stated that Non-Textbook items may be returned within 30 days of purchases.She then stated that It doesnt cover all scenarios and situationsShe then proceeded to play on her mobile device.Never go to this bookstore unless you want the employees to ignore you.

The front office staff always has a positive attitude in their interactions and are very knowledgable in their respective departments. As a former student, Ive associated with many instructors here who put an emphasis on the desire to learn and who strive for their students success.Non-academic services include a student-life lounge, a performing arts center, a cafeteria, engineering-oriented workspaces, various science laboratories and a variety of other past-times and services. A bus service (Zoom, I believe) makes a stop at the school many times throughout the day, so transportation is also an option, albeit public.There is always at least one patrolling law enforcement officer on-duty and there is a fire-station on the north side of campus, should any emergency arise, emergency services are only a brief moment away.

Nothing bad to say although I wish COVID-19 didnt come around. Hybrid classes were a great option for me and I am optimistic it will return...lol in the distant future. Stay safe:)

Really cool school all the faculty heres great, nice, helpful, and determined to help you succeed, that has been my case. But could not say the same for the front office people, the complete opposite.

This school is a complete joke. The instructors do not care at all. There is NO one in the main offices that have any urgency or concern about students needs. Both my girls attended and were miserable the entire time. Thousands of dollars wasted on the worthless education they received. Both have switched to different schools and are doing amazing. Do yourself a favor and DO not enroll at EMCC! Go to GCC instead. They are much more competant and actually care about the students.

I have never had a problem here or had to wait long in line. Things are more pricey but its convenient to pick up something you might have forgotten. I order my books online ahead of time and walk in to pick them up. Returning rentals or selling back my books has been easy. So far staff that have assisted me are knowledgeable of what I am looking for specific classes.

The level of frustration I have with the financial aid office right now is uncalled for. For two months now, TWO MONTHS I have been attempting to get my financial aid straightened out for the last class I need for my degree. I’ve gone in several times and spoke directly to someone in financial aid, I’ve spoke to someone almost weekly over the phone and now I’m almost two weeks into this class and NOW they tell me I won’t be getting financial aid for this one class. I’ve filled out and had approved form after form, have notifications in my student center stating I will be getting awarded for this class and only this class and now they tell me nope sorry you’re not enrolled in enough credits. What?!!! How many people have opened my account and saw this was the only freaking class I was in?!! Why have me jump through so many hoops if I wasn’t even eligible in the first place? Zero help or communication from anyone in the financial aid department. I urge anyone thinking of going to any Maricopa school to go else where this behavior is consistent across every college within the system. I’m a working single mother, I don’t just have $300 lying around to pay for classes, which is why I applied for financial aid! Thanks for waisting my time and energy for absolutely nothing. I can’t wait to finish this class and finally be don’t with this joke of a school.

School reps denied dual enrollment completion because the “original” two sided packet (instead a clear copy) was presented at EFHS today. I already completed all the online registration requirements- all that was required was payment and ID (which she had). The other sides of the “two sided” packet were simply instructions in (you guessed it) - how to complete the packet.. No one knows how to think outside the box anymore ?! How to say “hey, let’s pull up your info online and get this done “? Lazy, inept behavior by the HS reps onsite - no way my daughter would attend this college after HS ! Left a message. Still waiting for a call back...

We signed up for an evening guitar class. It was very easy to register and easy to navigate the campus. Prices are reasonable and typical of Community classes we have taken other places. They have a nice bookstore and cafe as well.

This campus is amazing!!! beautiful, state of the art. Ive had several meetings here, perfect for HOA assemblies. I highly recommend checking out this campus for meetings or for taking classes.

I went to Estrella Mountain to get my Associates and let me just say, this is the worst school Ive ever attended. The instructors are bias and treat students like high school students. Tutoring hours were a GRADE even if you didnt need tutoring. You are only allowed 3 absences, excused or not, and if you miss a 4th class, they drop you. (this is not the case at any other schools I have attended) I have experienced many occasions where I was talked to like I was not smart enough. Instructors give incredible amounts of pointless work and never grade on time. ex: I took a stats class and our assignments consisted of surveys to see what kind of procrastinator we are. Homework took 4 hours every night for EACH class. Teachers were very unhelpful and egotistical. I thought I was depressed because thats just how college students are but when I tranferred to ASU, I realized that wasnt the case at all. EMCC caused it.

Beautiful campus, mostly fantastic teachers! Advising is lacking in courteous and friendly faces. My repeated experience has been apathetic advisors that act as if they are bored and uninterested in your needs and questions.Parking sucks. Crowded and uncovered lot making for super hot vehicles after youve been parked there all day.Class availability is my biggest gripe. Offer degrees but not all of the classes required to attain said degree. Which is forcing me to attend GCC this semester.

This college is my favorite because theres lots of fun stuff and cool stuff you can do and study. Im studying for social worker thats my main thing for me because I really like to help those that needed if though they dont need they will need it because you never know in real world so Im pretty excited looking forward to that type of job study. always work hard always study hard so you can still keep on doing whatever you like to study in your future

I this was the easiest and most proficient registration experience I have encounter thus far in my education. Did my research for classes online, figured out the cost w/ books and the credits. Went to administrations to fill out the declaration form, which only took about one minute. Went to the registration desk, where I was treated with respect and dignity, got my classes, paid for them and then proceeded to attaining my ID. card. Everyone was Professional and polite, as with being very supportive and helpful. Then I went into the book store to get my books, I was helped out with efficiency. The assistant even helped me find the least expensive books on the shelves, which really surprised me and made my evening. From beginning unto the end this whole process took about thirty minutes, I was very enlightened and grateful for everyones support, energy, and overall positive vibes to which I received. If you are prepared when you walk in, the whole process is very efficient and uplifting. EMCC has Great people working for them. Keep up the Great work People.Much Thanks.New Student,Eli Marconi.

Staff is no help. I went in because I keep having trouble logging in with my MeID since Im an alumni. Somehow they have my last name duplicated and thats why I couldnt reset. I have to go to admissions and I give my id to have them update to what my id says, it gets updated wrong. I inform her and she says she cant anymore because it can only be updated once every 24 hours. Now Im back where I started. I talk to an advisor to better choose some classes, tells me the same description that is on the website. I can do that myself. To register for classes, you have to go to the computers they have. Basically everything I can just do from home.

My sons attended the college and I have taken a couple of classes as well. We found that the instructors were exceptional and truly cared about us as students. The courses and instruction definitely helped prepare my sons for their future university classes. Thank you EMCC!

Staff is so rude they expect you to know where to go and what to do. There is no flow in the enrollement center, no body to greet you and make you feel welcome. No one to guide you. They expect you to know their process. Won’t go back ever again.

This place has the rudest customer service!!! I came in to return a skeleton model from Bio201 but they wouldnt accept it because it was opened. THEY WERE THE ONES THAT OPENED IT ON THE FIRST DAY. TAPE it back up and let another student use it??!! Its just going to sit in the back of my closet never used. Plus the women was so rude explaining things to me. My fiance who was right by my side was shocked by how rude she was and how she barely helped. She was super impatient with us. Now I know that I will never buy books from them. AMAZON IT IS!!!

Staff is ZERO help and the financial aid office is trash. I did whats required and still needed to bring in forms. The financial aid advisors were no help and I kept asking questions and they couldnt give me any answers. This school is a headache. GCC office is better and very helpful.if I were you Id head to Glendale!!! Trust me Im out after this semester. Teachers are no help!!! I have to teach myself.

I heard horror stories about this school from peers I have at gcc. I wish I would have listened to them. I was a fulltime student until problems occured in my life I tried to communicate with my teachers but they all withdrew me. The instructors dont care about their students since most of them are part time instructors. Financial aid is also a joke why would they give me access money and then halfway through the semester bill $422, thats why I signed up for aid because I cant afford to pay out of pocket. The sad part is Im a very good student I have a 4.0 they lost a good student and a chance at a good review. Dont attend here!

Ive moved around a lot and have gone to 2 other community colleges. Emcc is definitely the best one! The staff truly cares about the success of the students, from the administrators to advisors to teachers. The are so many resources for anything you might need. Although I wish the library was bigger (6 shelves can hardly count), the online library and research libraries they offer for free are phenomenal. The campus is also very clean!!

This has been the source of all my reading materials for the past month. I like it in here, they are very welcoming and accommodating with their customers.

Good school, only ever had an issue with one teacher but out of all the classes Ive taken thats still remarkable. Plenty f resources too.

As a student at EMCC you already know my review is gonna be good. Great school, great staff, and great people.

Staff is always friendly, courteous, and quick to ask if you would like help. Also would like to note that the return policy on books is based on EMCC policy.

The people who work the book store feel very lazy. I asked them to charge a book to my card on the account. Apparently the card had expired and I didnt realize. They never told me a word about not a phone call or anything. A few months later I find out need surgery because I was developing cancer which was terrible enough. Then I start getting threatening phone calls from collections and lawyers from the school to pay back the dumb book they never bothered telling me about. So I had to pay a huge late fee with it. I will never do anything with this bookstore again.

While I would rate 5 stars, this college and campus dont appear to take complaints of issues relating to disabled students seriously and seem to think its a joke. This issue pertains to the north parking lot which has a total number of disabled parking spaces of 4 (four). Given the fact there are many people who attend this college with disabilities I have found it disheartening that I am unable to access my class in the Estrella Hall due to an inability to ambulate from the different areas of the campus which parking is offered. Despite being promised this issue would be addressed it has not and the school keeps on thinking of excuses and not solutions to address this issue. Thus the two star rating for this campus. I wish it was easier to change financial aid to another school. Instead I am stuck here for at least the end of fall 2014, and then again in Spring of 2015.

When I was taking classes there the teacher of music around the world, was so rude and yelled at students treating them like they were middle schoolers. Also the faculty there was no help on anything acting like they were above all the students.

Went to return two items with my fiancé. Although we did not have the receipt, and the date for full refunds on returned items had passed, we expected the store to buy back the materials, which is something Ive done without issue at other college bookstores in the past. When trying to explain our situation to the two cashiers, we were immediately met with rudeness and impatience. The condescending tone shared by both of them continued throughout the 5 minute exchange. According to store policy, one of the items, a skeleton model for a biology course, can only be returned if the box is unopened. This seems reasonable, however, the store also has a policy where the cashier opens the skeleton model box upon purchase. In other words, the store deliberately prevents people from returning this item, while pretending this is not the case. The skeleton is in mint condition and would be of use to any future BIO201 student but, through shady business practices, EMCC forces them to pay full price. Bad service, greedy policies, totally unaccommodating.

They have everything you need from academic supplies to snacks and drinks. Though it is a bit pricer than itd be at like Walmart or something.

Coming from GCC... This school is awesome! The teachers i have had so far go above n beyond which makes me want to enjoy school. Unlike GCC where the teachers simply didnt care for the fact that they have too many students. EMCC is an incredible place where I actually want to come to school and get a career!!

Went to the Admissions office, a guy at the front was very rude and very unhelpful. Every time I bought one of the requirements to prove that I was an Arizona resident he wanted me to bring more. So I brought everything on the list except the show ownership of property and that still was not good enough. I have been living in this state for over a year, I have a az drivers license, my car tags are az, I work in az. This guy refuses everything for some reason that I am unaware of he does not want me to go to this school.
