This place has a great group of instructors . Many classes to choose from beginners class, kids classes, self defense class and more. You will get an excellent workout and learn a valuable skill set.

You can tell whoever runs this truly cares about the place. The gym layout is perfect and everything is sparkling clean. This gym is rare and awesome. Staff was so friendly!

The Coaches and members are friendly and helpful as this was my daughter and sons first experience with Jiu-jitsu; the training sessions build their confidence. There is a tangible feeling of camaraderie, respect, and a willingness to learn among the participants, which I believe is a great reflection of the staff’s commitment to excellence in training.

Its the best place to workout and learn new moves every Wednesday there are people who come in and teaches you some extra workouts that you can do at home it is fun to roll with your friends and everyone there is super nice and willing to help and everyone in the family can take class this really is the BEST place to learn self defense.

Great place for kids and adults to learn jujitsu and discipline. My son has been going for about a month in a half now and he’s doing so great!! He also really likes his coaches. Coach Karen and Coach Kari are great with the kids. Highly recommend.

Amazing Coaches who love their students!

The martial arts classes here are phenomenal! The summer camps are great. There are always tournaments to go to and the coaches always attend. They help the kids develop self-defense and they help the kiddos develop good character. In the 2 years that my son has been attending, he has become a very disciplined young man. The classes have definitely helped him become a more respectful individual and they have taught him how to have the drive to achieve his goals. I have a lot of respect for Coach Karen.

The last 2 1/2 years we’ve been in shock and awe over you and Genesis gym.You have a unique gift of not only the art of Jiu Jitsu but how to teach others in their own unique ways. We had reservations about taking Sean and Callie to train somewhere, and our desire to be part of a studio that was family friendly! You encouraged us to visit the studio and only do as much as we were comfortable with. Whether that was observing, participating or doing the 7 day trial.We brought Sean for the 7 day trial, 2 1/2 years ago, and we were immediately impressed with the family friendly atmosphere at Genisis. You quickly introduced yourself and were friendly, encouraging and passionate about BJJ. The students and coaches went out of their way to talk to the kids and make them feel welcome.One of the criteria we judged a school on was making sure it was a safe environment for them. After a month of training under you and your talented team of coaches, and after observing the kids program, We knew Genesis was going to be a place we could settle in as a family, and train together for years to come.You often hear other gym’s talk about no egos and family friendly but this was the first studio we seen that had those qualities day to day. The kids after 2 1/2 years still look forward to each class! Each of them have goals theyve set for themselves. They’ve been pushed and encouraged to work toward those goals and seeing them reach them is priceless as a parent. Jiu Jitsu isnt something we have to drag them to or something they dread attending... instead, its something they delight in. They beg us to go to class, sign up for every tournament we can afford to send them to, and even practice at home with each other for hours a week!Theyve made friends with other students, made significant gains athletically and technically, and most of all...theyve had fun doing it.You have been fundamental in their journey beyond their first day as a white belt when they walked into Genisis. You’ve been patient, thought provoking, and have been willing to walk down different paths on their journey to help each of your students as they each seek to find their own way. Watching your competitions, you see that the Jiu Jitsu you teach is extremely effective and your quite skilled at imparting your knowledge to the students. Your unique way of teaching children is unparalelled and rivaled in the Jiu Jitsu community! Their is none better! Your not dogmatic about the way your students learn and encourage everyone to take hold of Jiu Jitsu and make it their own. Its also encouraging to see that you are still a student of the game and bring passion and excitement to the mats. You lead by example. Your ability to teach people of all ages and backgrounds is very impressive. Especially with children, your background of being an educator in the local area, and specializing in early childhood development, makes you shine, in the way your able to coach children. Love genesis. My daughter has a blast Coach Karen is amazing with the kids. They have camps and after school programs. If your looking for practical martial arts that is fun come here!!! My boyfriend and I have had a wonderful time with this school. There is a wonderful learning atmosphere and the other students are great to work with. Our main coach Karen really tries to help her students absorb the basics of jiu-jitsu and enable them to use their new skills in a variety of situations. We regularly have black belts stop in to teach new techniques and I love traveling to other schools to roll with new opponents. If this is something you are interested in, I highly recommend this School :)

My son has been training at Genesis for over 2 years now and he loves it. Coach Karen is amazing and has a gift for teaching kids. Karen Kovach is hands down the most highly trained, professional Jiu Jitsu instructor in the DFW metroplex. Her knowledge and experience are only matched by per personal demeanor. A sweet, caring person that is the best at training adults or kids. Decades of experience in teaching and caring for people. I could not recommend a better person for you or your kids to be trained by.

Genesis Family Martial Arts is a great place to train. The people are friendly and welcoming. My son has trained here for over 2 years and his jiu jitsu has just grown exponentially under coach Karen Kovach. He even went to Kids Worlds this past weekend in California and is now a World Champion! Shes a wonderful coach who does everything possible to help the kids succeed in jiu jitsu.
