10/10 recommend this school! I completed the MA program as a full time employee and as their student! Carlos and Ann are wonderful. Carlos is great at teaching and is very patient with his students. Ann helped me every step of the way with my externship and more! With the success of their program I successfully passed my National exam! They are affordable and i loved that I was able to work full time and attend class on the Sundays that they offered. They have a special school for sure! And I am happily working as a CCMA. Thank you Liberty Career College!

***Before I get started, I just want to say don’t base your opinion off of others bad experience. Go there and make your own judgement! That’s exactly what I did and I absolutely loved it here.Ann and Carlos are amazing! They really do care for their students and want everyone to pass. They tell you from day 1 what they expect of their students and you either listen and you pass, or you don’t listen and fail. I took their phlebotomy class and Carlos is a great teacher and is always using his experiences to help give us a better understanding of the material. If I can give any advice to future students, it would be to take good notes, pay attention, ask questions, stay on top of everything (including the externship requirements…. seriously, you will get done sooner!!!) and just enjoy the class. Thank you Liberty Career College for helping me start my career :)

10/10 would highly recommend! The professionalism and personable experience I had with Ann and Carlos is unmatched.Carlos was always willing to go the extra mile for us to fully comprehend what we learned and he never left us guessing what we would need to be prepared for in class, or for upcoming tests/extern/NHA exam/etc. I felt fully prepared every step of the way and well equipped to be successful out in the field.Ann could not have made it any easier for us. She is beyond organized and detailed in the very best of ways! She was always thinking ahead for the easiest experience possible and so easily reached when I needed her!!I don’t think I could have had such a personable and professional experience at any other school here in Bakersfield. The phlebotomy course was affordable and easily explained every step of the way.I would HIGHLY recommend Liberty Career College to anyone interested in a medical field education from a very experienced (and probably over qualified instructor) and his wife (Ann) that made it nearly impossible to fail!!Thank you LCC for my new start.

I went into the medical assisting program with such excitement. My first visit to the campus was great, Ann and Carlos were very welcoming of course I was convinced. Upon being in the program Ann grew to be very rude and Carlos hesitated to teach me if she was near. They were constantly late and unprepared. If you are looking to be a part of this program I wish you the best, just understand that this couple is very unprofessional and selective towards who they teach. Though everybody has their own experience, I know I do not speak only for myself when I say any of this. This negative experience really brought me down and though I passed all coursework they assigned I feel as if I was not taught correctly and hope to attend another school to see if I will be respected and taught as any student deserves.

I can not express enough gratitude for Ann and Carlos at Liberty Career college! My experience there was so amazing. I had looked into other schools for the phlebotomy program and I can tell you LCC is the way to go. The affordability of this school can not be matched! Ann went above and beyond to accommodate us through this pandemic. Carlos was very detected to insuring that while we were learning online to not be afraid to ask to go over something we might not have understood again. He understood that we were all trying to navigate this new way of distant learning together. We were able to do the class portion online and get into labs as soon as it was safe to do so. Ann was also quick to work hard and find available extern sites so we could complete our course and get licensed. I am happy to say just 3 weeks out of school and I already have a job. If youre looking into schools right now, I highly encourage you to consider Liberty Career College!

Now that Ann has no bearing on whether or not my friend gets her license, I would like to share our experience at this facility. A few years back, Ann wouldn’t work with a student who had to push back her externship by a few weeks and made her pay for the program again just to almost not let her get her license because of a poor Google review I left. She looked me up on Facebook and made the connection and said that if I didn’t delete the review, Ann wouldn’t work with my friend any longer. I would NOT recommend taking any programs here. They were extremely unprofessional and rude. I’m not sure how they are still able to hold classes because there’s no way this was an isolated incident. Not working with someone because of a review someone else left on Google is not only unprofessional, but it’s also against Googles terms.

I was drawn to the school because of the reasonable price and because of the length of the course. I was not disappointed. The teacher (Carlos) is full of knowledge and experience. The way he explains things makes you wanna learn more. And his wife (Ann) is so detailed and efficient. It’s not easy finding a school where the owners make sure every student is taken care of 100%. But that’s how they work. I highly recommend this school. You can shop around but this is where you need to go for an M.A, pharmacy technician, or phlebotomy program. A++++

Would absolutely recommend this school. I truly enjoyed my time here. Even though covid changed things in a major way, Ann & Carlos handled everything amazingly. I feel 100% prepared to start my career thanks to LCC & I could not have asked for a better teacher, administrator, & even trainer at my externship. Thank you Ann & Carlos for everything, I know the past few months have not been easy by any means & your time & patience has been greatly appreciated!

Until they will a client pay them they will treat you as student, after that they treat you like in human way. They only graduated a person they want not a person with a knowledge. Honestly, if you are Indian, black etc please don’t throw your money and your time in trash. Because that’s what you are to them....I hope you do your research before you enroll to their school or before you take what they are telling you until they scam your money. Good luck to all hard working individuals, you don’t deserve to be at this school. His wife also telling you that her husband is the main hiring person in memorial hospital and Bakersfield is to small you will never get a job in this town if you plan to do anything etc

I can not tell you how much I appreciate this school! I came to Liberty Career College as a result of not getting into the RN program at BC. I came to get my MA license so I could earn extra points [for RN application]; but I got SO MUCH MORE. Getting my MA license certified by the state gives applicants 4 points. You can also received 2.5 points for working in the medical field for 300+ hours. The training was amazing, no theoretical books and procedures. It was fast pace right out the gates. It is not an easy program, but it is thorough and fun. If you are not serious, it can be a struggle. Right after graduation they set me up with my 2 week internship, where I was hired after completion. A month after graduation I took the state exam and passed all three. Carlos and Ann have been doing this a long time and have built a great network of business relationships. If you stay the course and come to learn they will teach you.I work along side many other MAs that went to school for 9-15 months for the same job. Many of them paid as much as seven times the amount for their certificates. I have made my money back 10 fold because of the affordable pricing. I have gain such valuable experience and I am now proud to say I was accepted into the RN program and I could not be more grateful for the experience. I came for the points and I left with so much more!Thank you Carlos! Thank you Ann!

I really liked the school and mr carlos is a great teacher. but honestly they never helped me get my extern never heard from them again after they had promise to look an extern knowing my situation. Mrs ann had told me she would try her hardest to find me an extern after she placed everyone else and never again did I hear from them even when I would call or email. If they would of just communicated something atleast to me I would of been fine but no not even a sorry i tried. Im not the only person from my class that didnt get an extern because I still keep in touch with some of my classmates. Its just sad I spent all that money with no results.

Im sadden to see the previous reviews about LCC. I am currently enrolled the Phlebotomy Program (I take my final in 2days) and have not had any problems. My instructor Megan is awesome. I enjoyed being in class and lab. I received friendly/professional email and in class reminders of upcoming payment due dates. Prior to enrolling you are provided with dates when all payments are due as well. They have always been friendly. I would recommend Liberty College. I would also recommend just stopping by and meeting them in person, Ann was very helpful both times I had inquired about the program.

I attended LCC about 2 years ago in Aug.I cannot express it enough how grateful I am for Carlos and Ann.My experience was absolutely incredible.Carlos has years and years experience in the medical field and he is an extradionary intructor, I feel so blessed to have learned from him, he’s one of the best!Ann keeps the place together in a way I don’t even know was possible. She’s always attentive and supportive with helping her students, she really is the back bone of that school. You really cant beat the prices and I strongly recommend attending this school if you’re interested in a good education that’s not going to put a hole in your wallet.I finished my Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Tech certification and started working in the field even before graduating. If you are driven and committed, LCC is just the extra little push that could get you to your goals.Till this day I keep in touch with both Ann and Carlos. They are extremely good people who want the best for their students and their community.... they will forever hold a special place in my heart.Thank you LCC 😊

If I could give them more the 5 stars I would !!! I fully enjoyed the classes and staff. The education I received through them was incredible, I received my CCMA and phlebotomy license. I then went on to get a geat job as a CCMA and eventually became the CEO of a medical clinic . My husband and I also put 3 of our children through the CCMA and Phlebotomy and both daughter in laws as well and ALL of them are working in the field now. This is a professional , reliable and a completely life changing program. I would highly recommend liberty career college for anyone who is interested in the medical field.Thank you Liberty Career College !!!Written with respect , Rena Patterson

I am a former student and now a recruiter for MA externships at my current workplace. As a student, my experience was nothing short of amazing. The owners will go to great lengths to make sure you have every opportunity to learn the material and pass and will offer excellent opportunities to get extra hands on experience. Ann goes above and beyond to encourage everyone and shares real experiences to help prepare for the real world and she organizes a multitude of activities to give you opportunities to learn and get more comfortable with your skills. Carloss teaching style is one of the best. As a double major who has dealt with a LOT of instructors, that speaks extremely high of him. He has a ton of experience working at different levels in the field, so his experiences better prepare you for your profession. His teaching caters to every learning style, but if you get genuinely stuck, both Ann and Carlos will go above and beyond to help you. Classes are kept small so you get plenty of one-on-one instruction. Unfortunately, there are sometimes students who are not truly ready to take their education seriously. If you are not ready to put in the work to actually learn the material and take the medical field seriously, this school is not for you. They are in the business to TEACH, not to push the financial side, and they are very passionate about giving their students the best well rounded education. It is true that financial aid is not offered since LCC is a smaller school, however, in comparison to the fees other schools demand, the fees at LCC are minimal. This school is not a simple get your certificateas long as you make the payment education. You have to be willing to work. To some, phlebotomy and Medical Assisting can seem like an easy-get-a-job-fast educational opportunity. If that is your mind set, this school is not for you. You will have homework and you do need to learn the skills. Despite these being entry level positions, you are still learning to care for other human beings. Simple mistakes can kill and it is important to take this education seriously.I have been working in the medical field for 6+ years now. I observe a number of MAs and phlebotomists daily. Without a doubt, the individuals who went to Liberty Career College compared to other schools (which also happen to be significantly more expensive) perform SIGNIFICANTLY better. Not only are they more attentive to patients, they are also significantly more aware of infection control. THIS. IS. HUGE. These individuals have also proven themselves to have a broader understanding of their skills and they are more mindful of laws and professionalism in the workplace.Liberty Career College has forged their own reputation in the medical community based on the passion put into the program. Ann and Carlos are the driving force of the business because they WANT to make a positive impact in the community by providing proper instruction at a lower rate than other programs. They WANT you to do well.I hope this review give a more realistic experience from both a student and professional perspective. I highly recommend enrolling for both the phlebotomy and MA programs as taking them simultaneously gives a broader understanding, which comes in handy in the field. I can personally assure you that graduating from a program as highly respected as this one will not only look strong on your resume, it will be something you can be proud of.
