When I moved to Baltimore, I knew that I wanted to find a spiritual home and a Jewish community. Friends recommended three. We visited one. Never made it to the third. After coming around to BSS for a few different Shabbats and activities, I decided to become a member. Three years later, I love it more than when I joined. Rabbi Franken has provided me with great spiritual counseling through times of joy and sorrow; Many of my closest friends in Baltimore are ones at synagogue. I found that the congregation very welcoming and very diverse. Oh ya, I like the ruach (spirit) of the services. My favorite to date was been the Erev New Year Picnic and Service in the Meadow behind the sanctuary.
