Shady characters. I was helping an international student get their pc fixed for college, they diagnosed it wrong, charged 240$ to install OS (way overpriced) & then it still didnt work. Brought it back, they wouldnt fix it or refund the money they had, in my opinion, stolen. Charged for a service that never took place. Terrible customer service. I will NEVER recommend or give business to you guys.

Don’t even consider this place just go to Best Buy for Christ sakeBrought in my computer on a Wednesday saying I needed it by next Monday and was told that was fine, here I am a week and a half later being charged 89 dollars for a “diagnosis fee” which idk what that means and still no computer, called and asked what was up and was told the part I needed wouldn’t be in for another 11 days.... and would be an additional 180 dollars. Kinda weird, I’m pretty horrible at technology but I feel like I could have done a better job, don’t waste your time and money and find a real computer repair shop READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU COME IN dont make the same mistakes I did this place blows

I was getting ready to leave bangor after shopping when I dropped My iPhone and smashed the screen. I had to leave town within the hour but I stopped by to see what it would cost to replace next time in town. The worker was extremely pleasant and said he could have it down within the hour and at a great rate. When I came back to pick it up it was ready to go- The whole experience was Professional, fast and efficient- very happy with my experience😊

I went into the store for a cracked phone screen. My phone came back without a crack but the home button was pushed in as well as my camera no longer works. I spent over $100 on this.

Took my power supply to get it checked for spikes. Asked how much and was told it was an hours worth of labor at $60 an hour. Its only a fine to ten minute job. Told the guy for that price I will just go but another power supply. Over priced service. Would not recommend going here.

Walked into the store at 5pm on a Wednesday and had a dead lightning port replaced on my iPhone 8 Plus. The woman who did the work was very pleasant and got the work done in under an hour. Work was completed well, the new part functions as expected and all in all very happy. Their lobby is very comfortable and features a nice salt water fish tank to look at while you wait. All in all, I walked away very happy with the work performed at a very reasonable price. I would recommend them to anyone no questions asked.

I dropped my phone off at the store because I had a microphone issue. They told me that they would call in 20-30 minutes. Well 35 minutes passed so I went into the store and they didn’t even look at my phone yet! The worker said “oh I didn’t expect you to be here yet” so he picked up my phone and really said “yea I think you need a new microphone”. They hadn’t even looked at it until I came in! Wasted $30 for them to do NOTHING

Went to the repair shop at Bangor Mall and had a guy repair my phone with their supposedly high quality screens ($110 vs $80). When I got my phone back I could immediately tell that it was a low quality screen from the dull colors and how dark the display was. The home button was even protruding out of my phone. I went back to complain and the guy tried to tell me I had a better screen than when I came in which I knew was the opposite of the truth. When I asked if he could make it right the guy lost his temper.I came here to replace the hideous screen I got at the mall and had a great experience. The man I dealt with was very helpful and knowledgeable. Before I even paid anything as he was still working on my phone he showed me how the screen looked. It looked near identical to the screen it had when it was new. The home button was flat against the screen as it should be too. He finished the job quickly and it was worth every penny. If you need a screen repair done right go here and not the other shady places around town. Costs a bit more but only because it is a superior screen compared to what the other shops around Bangor Mall use. Highly recommend 👍

I brought in my Macbook Air to get serviced because it wasnt turning on. The owner did a great job communicating to me my options and only went forward with more costly work after consulting with me. My laptop was SO clean and nice when I picked it up and the fees are very reasonable.

Needed a new charging port for my iPhone 7. They had it ready to go in under an hour and for a very fair price. Havent had to go to any of the other phone/computer repair places in the area, but would definitely recommend these folks.

My LG G3 screen broke and i took it to Maine Geeks for repair. They didnt have the right one so they ordered it and I payed 113 $ at that moment. The service, 30$, was after they fix it. A few days later they called me and I went to get my phone. The moment they gave it back to me i checked it and I saw a little crack in the top, next to the camera, not even in the screen. Since the one person giving me the phone back wasnt the same that did the repair, he said he didnt understand how that happened and he offered to discount the service from the total price. 3 weeks later, and not having drop the phone or anything this is the result:I guess in 2 months I will have to change my phone or fix the screen again. Worst service and quality (probably they replaced the screen for a fake one) ever.

I called just before closing time last night and spoke to a representative via phone, questioning about data transfer cables and which ones I would need to do what I wanted to do. The representative was a bit cranky, but ultimately pointed me in the right direction, in the form of some online forums and Facebook pages that further answered my questions fully. My experience was neither too overly negative, but not overly positive either. Neutral experience is good for 3 of 5 stars.

BEWARE!!! I got an estimate from here for some computer repairs. He told me in would take 2 hours and cost $240. I went to Best Buy and they fixed it for free, in less then 5 minutes because it was such a simple problem!!! Unbelievable!! CON MAN!Response. Bc this was a bunch of b.s.I was there on saturday. The gentle man with the accent waited on me. Im sure my name was not in the system because i left as soon as I heard the price. Why he didnt do the diagnostic and follow proper protocol is beyond me. I was in there with the hp laptop that would no longer accept my password. I told him I had everything important saved on a ext hd so wiping it would be fine if he had to. He told me he had to redownload windows and all this other stuff. Best Buy showed me how to factory reset it and now it works fine.

Apparently making a profit is more important than assisting their customer base. They cannot handle a few simple questions without reminding you all they want is your money. I was told so by an employee. Bring your business elsewhere unless you want to get treated like a complete re***d.

I called in to see if I could have my water logged Macbook Pro fixed. They informed water damage would require an alchol bath and usually works 7 out of 10 times. 96 hours and $240 later I have a great funtioning Macbook Pro. Professinal service and the cleanest computer shop I’ve ever seen. Thanks guys

They replaced the battery on my phone. They were polite, efficient, and inexpensive. Would go there again or recommend to anyone looking. I had gone to batteries plus prior to coming here and was told they couldnt change my battery. Maine Geeks did it with no issue. Great job.

Had a broken speaker on my iPhone 7, had a few cracks in the screen so Angelo suggested to replace both for a great price, he suggested I take a look at his screen protectors the guy hit the phone with a hammer the phone didn’t break. Bought one tested it, got exactly what I paid for. He doesn’t play games. Get your phone fixed here don’t waste your time elsewhere.

I had two broken IPhones: one of them screen was completely shattered and would not even turn on, the second one the screen was cracked but also the home button was broken. After doing some research I found Maine Geeks to have the best reviews as well as best prices. I took them in and was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and well as the staff. I was greeted promptly and with a smile. I explained what I wanted and I was given a price and time frame for the repair. I would recommend Maine Geeks to anyone. Dropped of an IPad that would not charge on 5/13/2020. Was told that device would be diagnosed for 49 dollars, they would call me with their diagnosis and complete repair if I agreed. The 49 dollars would be deducted from the repair price.This repair took over 4 weeks. You heard that right 4 weeks for a repair!! They also never notified me of any diagnosis, they went ahead and made the repair without telling me. Charging me 59 dollars for a new charging port and 2 hours of labor at 60 dollars an hour.To repair an iPad port almost 200 dollars and ONE month waiting for them to repair it.I do NOT recommend Maine Geeks

These jokers took my laptop for a month , never got it fixed and still charged me . It’s maybe one of the shadiest places I’ve ever worked with , and as of now they self proclaim being a essential service (highly irresponsible during this crisis if you ask me ) ***they never actually issued me a refund the cost was excessive for nothing being done to it ***and for the record no time was spent identifying the problem I told them what it was and showed them lol. But this is how shady they are saying they did so . Work with this business at your own risk!

This business should give other businesses lessons in customer service. I decided to try Maine Geeks because the reviews were great. I brought my recently dried out phone to them in hopes I would not have a huge bill to fix it. I was greeted as I walked in the door by Angelo. I explained what happened and that I was not rich. He said no problem he would take a look and see what needed to be done to fix it. He quoted me a very decent price to fix it. Needless to say I had my phone back the next day and money in my pocket. I know where I will be going for future repairs. I also found out these guys work on computers!! You have gained a forever customer.

I have always gone to the salon next to this store. I am just starting up school and needed a computer that would be reliable. I decided to go in and check out the store. I ended up buying a used mac. I was impressed with how clean and organized the place was. The customer service was warm and friendly. I love how good the computer works it is like brand new.

I broke my screen on my phone on Christmas Eve later in the day and didnt think I would be able to find anywhere to have it fixed in time before I had to leave to go out of town for the holiday to visit family and would need my phone to travel in the weather. I highly recommend Maine Geeks. In two hours time and with no appointment, Tahya replaced the battery and charging port on my 3 year old iPhone 7S and now it works perfectly. The charge of $157 was about what I expected, since the charging port requires removal of many delicate parts.

Crazy nice guy, and great service for a decent price. I’d contacted several businesses around Bangor to find out who could work on my PC the fastest, and the answer was Maine Geeks. They both held up to their promise and far exceeded expectations.

Brought my laptop in because it wasn’t charging, and they told me I needed a DC board. A week later they tell me it’s ready to be picked up, but when I go get it it’s still not charging. No one tested it to make sure it would actually charge, they just replaced the board and said it was all set. The guy said it was a faulty board, and it took them another 2 weeks to get another part in and actually fix it.

I came here to get my iPhone screen replaced because I cracked it and they did it wicked quick. I am here right now getting the ram placed in my Mac, the guy immediately started working on it and gave me a great deal. The irony is Best Buy referred me over here. This is The only knowledgeable tech spot around.

Was told 69 dollars before I let them take my sons phone signed the papers which state you will be notified before any other repairs that come up are made. Not once did I receive text or phone call with number I left to reach. I get there and was told 100.15 because speakers or something was damaged during repair. When I pointed out it states in their own contract I would be notified first he did not care at all. Going to courthouse Monday due to them breaking their own contract

Dropped laptop off to them 5 days ago. They said they would know what was wrong within 24 to 48 hours. No calls texts or emails from them. I began calling the next day. The recording said they would return my call within 15 min each time. NO CALLS finally got through for the girl to say she had no record of me or my computer and that she would call me back in 5 min. NO CALL drove over there and asked why they couldn’t even call. Said oh their systems were down. When I asked why they didn’t have the common decency to call he handed me my computer and said get out. When I asked if he had even figured out the issue he said no. Be warned they have 0 customer service

During my short visit to Bangor Maine my computer stopped booting up past one ominous looking stripy screen. Ive had no end of problems with it, it is vista and problematic. But I had a meeting the next morning and needed my laptop so I thought I was going go have to buy a new one. As a last ditch effort, I googled repair companies in Bangor to give it a shot. I left a voice message with several companies but only Angelo at Maine Geeks was able to call me back within a few minutes. He was very knowledgeable and calm and he also reassured me that he could get the job done the same day since I had to have my laptop for the early morning.I drove out to their office in Glenburn dropped it off and headed back to town. Just four hours later Angelo called and told me I could pick up my computer that night. I was even able to come and get it a little past close.Now it all runs better than brand new. Bringing my computer in to Angelo is something I wish I had done many frustrations ago. I cannot say thank you enough. Truly exceptional service.

Oh wow, I appreciate this business to the fullest, they saved me in a crunch. I was about to fly out of Bangor International Airport on business when my Iphone started to act strangely. I count on this particular phone for ALL of my business accounts, work, and dealings, as well as for some personal(although I have an Android for my family to communicate with me)communications. When the applications started to run slowly and different screens, for instance the phone screen started to flicker, run slowly and then ultimately freeze up, I became very worried and upset. Being away from home and expected on a flight, combined with being on a tight business schedule I was quite stressed out. I popped into Maine Geeks One Day Repair after searching online for a local repair shop. When I walked in I was immediately helped and the employees were friendly and very efficient. After they quickly addressed and assessed my phone, they knew right away what exactly the fix would be. Being an older gentleman, I am not too technologically advanced. I pretty much know the basics for my business dealings, and can run simplistic programs and applications I find useful in my life, but besides that Im basic. After some clearing of unnecessary applications, a reset, and a few other adjustments, I was quickly on my way and on my flight punctually. I dropped off a motherboard to them , spent the money and after the first month got it back, the chip was never fixed and still fried which I could tell( they never even looked at it ) I had them send it back out and another month later they tell me they can’t fix it the board is too thin. They also won’t refund my money because they say it was mostly used for their diagnostics ( I’m sorry but all you did was send it out and waste 2 months of my time , if you did diagnostics you would have seen the chip was still fried on the return the first time) so basically they stole my money , wasted my time, and won’t refund me. They earned a one star no matter their response..... in response to the bottom comment since I feel you get away with responding and no retaliation, you didn’t do a diagnostic , all you did was send it out we both know that . But more importantly it was the service that was horrible and you perceived notion you can treat a costumer like this and still remain in business . To all the people looking at these reviews please read all the one stars this company has and judge for you’re selves if you would like to hire them on for you’re needs ... I know I never will.

I took my computer out to Maine Geeks and they fixed and updated all software, I am extremely happy with their service and my computer is like NEW. Since I picked up my computer I have had a few questions and Angelo has answered and fixed anything I needed right over the phone with a net meeting software he uses. I would highly recommend Maine Geeks to everyone, fair price, great knowledge and just great people to deal with. Dont go to the box stores to have anything fixed, go to Maine Geeks and get it done right and a Fair Price.

Ken and Ace were both very helpful to me when i came in to have my computer fixed. it automatically updated me to windows 10 and i wanted to go back to windows 7. They were able to do that and keep my information on there. 5/5 guys!

I cannot recommend these guys enough. I walked in with a broken iphone screen and home buttom and they fixed it within an hour, no questions asked. Their prices are insanely fair and they do a great job. My home button stopped working a few days later and when I called about it, they immediately had me come in and fix it right there and then without a fuss. My phone has been working perfectly since then. Great people!

Quick turn around. My PC needed a simple BIOS flash and they could not do it. Their radio ads claim that they are a computer repair shop but they cant update a motherboard? I dont think they should charge people $50 for simple software issues they cant fix. Oh well..

It was taking nearly 20 minutes to get my Gateway Notebook to load up.One call to Geeks4Maine and they offered me a total solution. So I drove it over, dropped it off. Next day, I picked it up. WOW it hadnt run this good since the day I bought it. Everything just worked, so nice. By far, the absolute worst tech repair shop option in the Bangor area. I had a simple repair on a modern laptop. The estimated time on the repair was 2 weeks, it took more than 8. Eight weeks. The cost was not only outrageous, but almost twice as much as their estimate suggested, which I conferred about in a phone call. Among all this, the staff presented themselves as egotistic, and rude, even though I maintained a respectful and coooerative demeanor throughout all transactions. I can not recommend enough that you avoid this shoddy, ill-prepared tech shop at all costs.

I was in town for a concert and had my screen fixed. The phone hasnt been the same since. I try to click on the screen and it takes two or three times to engage sometimes. The battery runs out fast because the screen stays on most of the time and doesnt auto shut off. Called in and they said they wouldnt refund, only option was to come in to let them look. I offered to ship the phone back and they wouldnt allow that. Their stuff is low quality.

I thought that they fixed my phone, but they actually gave me a faulty screen that broke within 3 days. When I brought it in for a replacement, they said that tiny scratches on the corner of my phone meant that they couldnt replace their faulty screen without charging me again. Dont come here. Additionally, I dont think their data storage for credit/debit card info is secure - within a day of going there, my debit card was hacked, and its the only place I used it at the time.Not to mention the customer service was very rude they treated me like i was beneath them like i knew nothing.Better of to pay the extra and take your business else were

Stopped by geeksquad with my laptop that had a broken power bracket. They wanted to ship it out and gave an estimate of 3-4 weeks. Found these guys right next to the best buy building and they fixed it and had to back to me in 3 hours. Great customer service and they gave me price options depending on my budget.

I’m very glad I went local with Maine Geeks computer repair. I learned alot about antivirus software when I was there, and they were able tosuccessfully get my computer back up to speed very quickly. I’ve had ahard time finding a really good place for computer repair in the past, sothe people at Maine Geeks were a major find. My repair was under onehundred dollars, which was way less than I’d paid in the past. I wasafraid I’d have to purchase a whole new computer, but fortunately, theyhelped me get more use out of this one.

I broke my iPhone’s charging port, so I looked around Bangor to find a tech repair shop and I found Maine Geeks. Took them about an hour to fix it so I waited and played on some high quality gaming PCs while I waited. Clean place, quality top of the line service and I’m DEFINITELY going back for a gaming pc.

Super and friendly service.I had the notorious cryptologer virus infect my laptop and these guys were unlike the last couple of companies I called. They told me without any sugar coating that the damage caused by that virus could not be reversed and even provided me articles online to back that up. They did rebuild my system which i dropped off earlier and I was able to pick it up this afternoon fully reinstalled configured and 365 days antivirus protection.

I took my iphone 6 plus into this store because my screen was smashed. I tried the Bangor mall first and they wanted 110 dollars. A week later I found this store and they only charged me 69 dollars. I even got a screen protector put on for me. They were so helpful. Now I am going to be taking my computers there because it is so reasonable and they get the job done quickly.

My son was so sad when he dropped his tablet and the screen broke. I called around and every place was going to charge me more than I paid for the tablet to repair the screen. Almost every time I take my computer to some stores to repair, it feelslike they’re trying to sell me something extra. Half of the time, I wouldwalk out of there after spending way more money than I would for just therepair, because they had convinced me that I needed it. They also weren’table to give me any easily comprehensible explanation for what was goingon with the computer, how it worked, or what they were actually doing withit in any way. At Maine Geeks, they were able to explain to me in acompletely understandable way what was going on, and I didn’t have to buyanything else. I felt like I learned a lot from when I was there. MaineGeeks was very quick as well: a day later, and I had my computer back inperfect working order.

Spent $100 to have my daughters phone screen replaced. Great job, initially. Two months later, not so great. The screen is coming apart. Went in to the store this evening and we were told that for $60 they can fix it again as it is past the 30-day WARRANTY. Yes, I want to pay more money for a repair that should have lasted longer than two months. Thanks, but no thanks. A classier place would have stood by their work.

I am one to got to the Big box stores cause I value after sales support that small shops dont seem to match or offer. Boy was I wrong. I needed an emergency virus removal on my laptop ( FBI ransom virus) and the Maine Geeks showed up 1st on my google search. They guaranteed next day pickup on their website and so I gave them a try.The tech was professional and calm and I was assured I could pickup my Asus laptop the next day. Its been 2 weeks now and I am one pleased customer. My laptop is virus free and secure and runs much faster cause I got the free 360 point PC tuneup.They even called a week after I picked up my laptop to see how I was doing or if I needed any help. Their after service support is what nailed it for me and I would hope they maintain this level of detail and care.

Wanted to support a local business when I needed a laptop repaired. Ken from Maine Geeks followed up with me with every step. Two of his parts vendors failed to deliver by the promised time so the repair did take longer than it should have. I was frustrated but understood that it was not Kens fault. My patience paid off when I picked it up and I was only charged for labor and not the parts. Got quoted a fabulous price for the next repairs I need done, so I will be back a time or two! Usually when I bring my Macbook anywhere to get fixed its $125 just for them to look at it plus whatever it costs for the actual repairs. So glad I found Maine Geeks, they were able to fix my computer for less than what it would usually cost just to have it looked at!

I hope you read this before going into this store. My girlfriend brought her Iphone 7 into Maine Geeks to get her screen fixed and like usual something went wrong with her phone It kept restarting Now if you have ever brought your phone into a place like this usually youll lose your headphone jack or something minor but this man and women who works in the back did something very sneaky that someone who doesnt know about phones and how to read code wouldnt ever catch. They implanted a Bug which you wouldnt know normally because they usually just drain your battery and or make random calls for no reason but this one stopped the operating system from fully booting up which caused it to dump all its files thinking it was crashing but in all reality it was just blocked from fully functioning. They told her she needed a new battery which was working just fine before she broke her screen so i went in with her to talk to the guy and have him do it in front of me and test all the hardware which weirdly he said worked just fine and he didnt know what was wrong with it only that he could ship it to apple but would take 3 weeks! I wish I was making this up but im not so just remember they might seem like nice people but if you read the contract it says its not there fault so you better off going to the mall WHERE THEY DO THE REPAIR RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU not in the back room and getting a working phone back not a broken one.

I have a slightly older Macbook that wasnt runing very well and I was dealing with it constantly crashing, thought I would finally have to break down and upgrade, but luckily John was able to get it working again, practically like brand new! Saved me a lot of money and headaches! Also really appreciated how modern and comfortable the lobby is.

I am very pleased with the service I received from this business. I know a fair deal about computers, but I ran into a hardware problem that I couldnt fix: the power jack on my ASUS brand laptop stopped working. My laptop was now completely useless without a power supply. The repair that was needed involved disassembling the laptop, removing the component with the broken connection from the motherboard, and re-soldering it back in place. This requires careful, skilled work. I was very impressed that I received my laptop back in one(!) business day! Angelo, the owner and operator of the business, seemed very friendly and trustworthy. I talked shop with him afterwards and he seems knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his work. It has been nearly a month, and his repair is holding up very well. I would recommend this business to others.Support a local business!
