This place is amazing!!! They really take the time to focus and help develop your personal growth and teach great life lessons. Karen is great to deal with and I would recommend getting lessons from her.

As a parent, it matters to me that my 5-year-old daughter grows up as a strong and confident woman without becoming a bully. Real martial arts teaches character, discipline, and how to use your personal strengths to work with others without fear. KMA of Bartlett is simply outstanding in its quality of training.Karen Sugino does all of this with remarkable empathy and patience, and I cant imagine a better place for kids to train. I live in South Elgin, but am very happy to travel a few extra minutes for kid-friendly lessons where every class teaches something new. The techniques Karen teaches are age-appropriate, and kids learn how NOT to fight as much as they learn reliable self-defense.Karens philosophy is centered on building tomorrows adults, and Im so impressed with her dedication to students that Ive begun training with my daughter, even though its been years since I last trained. But even if I were to stay on the sidelines, Karens family-oriented approach makes everyone feel welcome and accepted.I cannot recommend this school more highly for any parent interested in involving their kids in responsible martial arts.

We have our 4 year old son and 2.5 year old daughter enrolled at the academy and they absolutely love this class. Miss Sugino is a great teacher, patient yet firm. As a parent, I really enjoy the class also. I would strongly recommend this as an extracurricular activity for any child. My son is usually sweating by the time the 30 minute class is over. Sign up, trust me!

Absolutely amazing! Karen teaches children how to live a peaceful, balanced, harmonious life. Theyll also learn to be empowered, respectful, and resilient. Great skills for everyone!

After looking for a Martial Arts school for several years, I was happy to find KMA of Bartlett. Our instructor is great and loves to help the students learn. Absolutely stop in and give it a try.

I enrolled my daughter at KMA of Bartlett even before they had opened the location. My daughter was SO excited to start her “ninja classes”. I soon met the owner, Ms. Sugino, an absolutely AMAZING lady! She welcomed us right away, and my daughter loves her and has so much fun in her classes. Ms. Sugino is such an awesome teacher- she knows how to keep the kids engaged and having fun, but also keeps control of them and teaches them respect, and a greater sense of self-confidence. I have brought my Daisy troop for a class before also, where the girls had a lot of fun, and Ms. Sugino helped them earn a few of their petals. Most recently, I had a virtual birthday party for my daughter and Ms. Sugino taught a class for the party. It gave the kids a chance to get up and move around, have some fun, and get a taste of a kyuki-do class! I would highly recommend Ms. Sugino’s classes at KMA of Bartlett!

Amazing Kyuki-Do school! My family loves the facility and especially their teacher. If you want to study martial arts, this is the school to go to.

My familys experience with KMA Bartlett has been nothing but positive. My daughter has learned so much about the art of Kyukido and self control since she started in November. It has been wonderful to watch her confidence blossom!!! The instructor is passionate and teaches the students as individuals while encouraging teamwork. We are thoroughly pleased with our decision to make Kyukido a part of our lives!
