I highly recommend taking photography classes from Amy. Amy has a way of teaching photography in a fun and easy manner. The goal of her basic class is to equip her students with the necessary knowledge to stop shooting in automatic mode and take control of your photography by shooting in manual mode. She does this better than any teacher I have ever had. She is effective, knowledgeable, and approachable. I cannot say enough great things about Amy and I look forward to taking more classes with her in the future!

Amy is a very skilled photographer and an excellent teacher. She takes her time with you and is open to questions. She also makes it fun, as it should be! She takes you on a field trip to practice which is extremely helpful. I learned a lot from her class and had a great time. Amy is the best you will find!When I moved to Baton Rouge I was looking to find a new hobby that would help me meet people and explore my new home city. I googled photography classes in Baton Rouge and Amys page came up first and I now know why. I have taken three of Amys classes as well as traveled with her on a few guided photography field trips. I literally bought my camera to take her beginning class, I had never used a DSLR before, but now I am quite proficient and love exploring life through my camera.The best part about Amy as a teacher is how her passion feeds through her classes. She gives so much attention to her students and works to make sure they are achieving their goals by guiding instruction to the needs and desires of her students. She also keeps her students connected with the former students from all her other classes which provides a great support system as you continue to learn and practice photography. Amys hand on approach is guaranteed to help you learn, improve, and grow as a photographer, five stars isnt enough to describe my experience in her classes! I took Amys beginner class w/ field trip for Digital SLR and loved it! I was completely new to photography and got exactly what I needed to get my hobby started. I was shooting in manual mode by the end of the class sessions and have some great notes for reference/refresher as I need it. I plan to take more classes with Amy. Her passion and knowledge comes out beautifully in her teaching.

Do it! Take her class and you will not regret it. As a mother to three toddlers, I thoroughly enjoy the creative outlet that Amys classes offer. But more importantly, I admire her gentleness with each student. She is not only talented in her craft but she is also passionate about her student learning to be better photographer.

I enrolled in Amys beginner class because I purchased a DSLR and wasnt happy with the results I was getting on my own. I had previous experience with film cameras and found the transition to digital difficult. Amys instruction was instrumental in helping me apply what I already knew using technology that was new to me. She adjusts her instruction to the specific needs of her students quite well. Having since taken other courses with Amy I am consistently pleased with what I am able to take away from the sessions. I bought a dslr camera but didnt really know what to do with it out of auto mode so I looked around and found Amys workshops. I just finished the beginner course which was very informative and fun. I learned how to get out of auto mode and even how to take great shots in manual. I have to be honest and admit I didnt think Id be able to do that. I cant wait for the next workshop!

I have taken several of Amys classes. Beginners, Intermittent, and also photoshop. I have learned so much in these classes. I have enjoyed being in small group sessions, have had a lot of hands on as well as class room instructions. I have been able to ask advice from Amy anytime, even if Im not scheduled in a current class. I would highly recommend Amy for any level of photography. She is very knowledgeable and professional, as well as friendly in her classes. I look forward to taking more classes in the future.

As an instructor, Amy was exactly what I needed. The first of half of our first session was spent not going through a curriculum but getting to know my needs and goals for our time. She was able to quickly adjust and map out a plan to cover what we discussed. I learned more in the 6 hours of lessons than I had scouring the internet and YouTube for tipsTop notch and personable, I hope to visit one of her classes again.
