I originally posted much love. But it was a busy day and I hadnt REALLY looked up close at my nails or thought over my experience, until after class that night.Yes, it was nice to splurge a bit and do some self care I do not normally do for myself. But thats where it ends.I was charged for nail art on each nail. No one seemed to know what a French manicure isπŸ€”πŸ€”Did I just get old and they dont do French manicures anymore? There was a tub for me to put my feet in... ok...no filing to give clean straight lines to my nails before painting them. Sloppy painting... the lines are not straight and some nails have corners that didnt get painted all the way to the cuticles. A 30 second lotioning foot rub and done.I dont know about you, but at $52, I expected what a normal salon provides. That was not it. The other cosmetology schools give a full service just like a classic salon ( that is what school is preparing them for, right?). I thought I would be saving money and giving myself some self care everyone keeps telling me is so important. I wish I wouldnt have spent my money like this. I knew better than going to Wrights, but I thought, new location =new way of doing things.NOPE!!!πŸ˜”I will NOT be back to Wrights. Overcharged and underwhelmed and so bummed.DO NOT recommend πŸ‘ŽπŸ˜΅UPDATE πŸ˜–So, last night I thought I broke my thumbnail....nope, my nail polish was coming off🀯....I paid extra for gel polish that would help make them last longer....😡😡😡....it hasnt been a week yet, and I havent done anything to cause this....no weeding, no scrubbing of my floors.... nothing wearing on my nails. An hour or better of self- care that made me feel pampered (until I stopped and realized I got jacked) has me now feeling like I shouldve just done my own spa day at home. Im more than disappointed. Im heartbroken having spent money on myself that really comes down to having burned my money for no reason. I dont feel better....I feel like I wasted $ I DO NOT (especially as a single mom AND college student) have to waste.I added a couple of pics, so you can see Im not talking smack. The single foot and hand photo taken in a rush on the way into class on the day I got my nails done. The other 2 were taken today.....4 days later. The reviews I post are important to me, because they are important to youπŸ₯°

I graduated from the cosmetology program and also the instructor program here, this school is very family oriented environment, they are able to do a ton of one on one training, and they put in a lot of focus and effort for the students individually to help further develop their skills! I passed state boards and feel very successful because of this school and it’s staff members who helped me along the way. If you’re looking into joining a cosmetology school or nail technician school, this is the one!

I have been to the academy a few times and have been pleased with their service. Everyone is pleasant and accomodating. If the final results dont meet with your approval, the admin will go out of their way to make sure you dont leave until you are happy with the end result. I would definitely recommend giving them a try.

The students are cool and are polite; however I personally feel that Wrights needs to have an appointment reminder system or appointment cards to hand the clients because people do forget and dont always write things down themselves especially when theyre really busy.Just saying, a friendly reminder doesnt hurt anyone!

I took the nail technician class in 2017 and it has changed my life. One of the best decisions Ive ever made. Its been over a year since Ive graduated and the instructors and staff STILL offer me help/advise/encouragement without even batting an eye. By attending Wrights I not only started a successful career, I have also gained a whole new family of encouraging professionals (staff & classmates). Highly recommend Wright Beauty Academy.

I would NOT recommend you go here. This school needs to be shut down. I scheduled a hair cut. I wanted an inch cut off of my hair. The young lady who cut my hair did NOT section it off, but cut it straight across my hair & barely cut anything off. Maybe a couple snippets. I asked her why & she said I didnt need it. the I asked her why she didnt cut the front. I wanted my bangs trimmed so she cut my bangs. One downward cut & one she twisted my hair & cut. THEN, the instructor came over LOOKED at my hair & told her good job & high fived her, seriously. This is what you can expect from Wrights Beauty Academy. Yeah, i know, only 8 bucks, but i strongly encourage you to save it as a tip for somewhere else!!!!

I absolutely love this place and I love the students that are willing to take on clients like me who color their hair all the time. They also take the chances on me with my hair. Everytime Ive gone here I have loved my hair. The owner also is such an amazing person & so strong. She adores her job & strives for success for all her students. Downside if u arent explained the potential risks of what youre having done, and expect everything done in one setting, thats not gonna happen realistically. U should definitely go here before spending hundreds at a regular salon and you will get the same results but cheapy. And the fact your helping these students with more practice for their careers. Great with kids too and so much more. The environment is warming & welcoming! I wouldnt go anywhere else ever again! Ive had more problems at higher costs with regular salon/licensed hairdressers than here.

This review is from my fiance. I attended Wright Beauty Academy this year. I was very excited about my future career as a cosmetologist but quickly realized what a terrible school I’d chosen. Our time as juniors consisted of everyone pretty much sitting on their phones looking at youtube and trying to replicate tutorials which would be fine if that’s what we were paying for but we were not. For almost $13,000 I expect to be instructed. They put several of us on the floor before we even hit 350 hours which is illegal and I expressed that I did not feel prepared but was assured it was time because they were moving in a new class. While in the junior room one to two days a week our instructor was given the day off for what I assume to be cutting corners for costs and we were left to our own devices with no lesson plan or supervision. There was a lot of favoritism among the faculty. Some girls were given the liberty of pretty much wearing and doing whatever they pleased despite handbook policy. I was denied on several occasions the ability to have a print out of my clock in and out hours.. the reasoning being that it took too much paper and that they would show me my clock in and out hours but not β€œright now” and β€œright now” never came. They also had a registered tier three sex offender attending on campus alongside underage high school students whom he often invited to his car in the parking lot and used very sexually explicit language toward them. When some of the students began to talk they called us into their office to say β€œhe’s a very nice guy and we’d trust our daughters with him” which I didn’t feel was any consolation regarding these young naΓ―ve girls who were exposed to him. Despite my lack of training regarding hair cutting they rarely gave me cuts to teach me. I was very good at nails because I took the time to teach myself when the instructor wasn’t there so they began setting me up with nail appointments every day. I told them that I needed more practice with hair cutting but they continued to give me nails even when tail techs were available for appointments. This made it so I wasn’t getting enough hair cutting MPAs to graduate. I finally told them I wasn’t taking anymore nails and they were pretty upset. Not enough MPAs means I would have to go over contract to graduate therefore they would make more money off of me. During our lunches we were regularly pulled from eating to take clients when girls were available on the floor but were doing eachother’s hair. These were the privileged ones. The favorites so to speak. When working on clients as a senior it was nearly impossible to get help. It was usually one instructor to fifteen students and we’d be left waiting for up to fifteen minutes before help would come and that’s very dangerous when you’re doing color or a perm. Sometimes the instructors would be outside smoking behind their cars so you couldn’t find them. These are only a few of my grievances over this school. I’m starting another program and because of my lack of knowledge when testing out due to Wright’s poor education my near 800 credit hours has been transferred down to 600 to give me 200 extra hours in the junior room for instruction because I’m so sorely lacking. To anyone considering an education here PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reconsider! Other schools may cost a little more but you’ll actual come out of their programs knowing what you’re doing and I believe have a much greater chance of job placement. I wish someone had warned me before enrolling. It breaks my heart to see girls signing up for this school. It’s not about giving the students a fair opportunity at a good education… it’s about using victims of low income to run a business.
