One of the reasons we moved to Battle Creek was because Lakeview Schools have a great reputation. But then we got excited about all of the innovative changes and commitment from WKKF to Battle Creek Schools. We ended up moving into the district and my son now attends the STEM Innovation Center, a middle school. I have been impressed time and time again by the teachers - whether virtual or in-person - they are amazing. The first day of in-person school, the principal recognized my son (even with a mask on) and greeted him by name! The district really cares about families, especially in the pandemic - they send kids home with food. Lakeview is great, but weve really found a school-home at Battle Creek Public Schools.

Well I have dealt with Battle creek public school Dean transportation for many years and have had a lot of issues! Today just took the cake. First off Mrs. Mary on bus 151 refused my daughter to get on the bus this morning saying she was suspended, so I go to the bus garage and verify that SHE WAS NOT suspended. Then this morning she accuses my son of throwing food on the bus, which my son didnt take any food with him when he left (but they will review the video) and his older sister said he didnt even do anything on the bus but play on his phone and that the driver lied. So after school she continues to harass my son, yelling at him saying he wont be on the bus tomorrow and still yelling at him as she closed the door after he got off the bus. I also heard from several kids that she tells the kids she will park the bus and run them over with it and put her fist down their throats when they are in trouble for whatever reason. SO.... I go up to the bus garage and explain this to the supervisor/manager whoever he is and this man dont even invite me in to fix this situation or discuss it, he literally made us stand outside telling this business in front of other people. Please, if you got kids who ride this bus please have a talk with them about their bus driver and what happens on the bus. Even if their being bullied and they are reporting it to the driver but nothing is getting done because we deal with that too a lot. She CANT be talking to put kids like that period, she just lucky she didnt say that to my kids is all I can say! But, that supervisor said he will talk to Mrs. Mary, lol what a joke. But Im taking it further, Dean transportation in battle creek needs to be closed down and their contact ended. They only have a handful of good drivers, the bad ones outweigh the good for sure. But this is a company who transports our kids, who were suppose to trust! Not me!

Moved my children to the battle creek public schools from the Pennfield district and I totally regret it. The guy in the student services department is very rude and also the guy at the busing garage. They certainly do not care about keeping kids safe. The pennfield district shows more concern for children and they do not have a problem picking children up in front of their homes. They also travel as close as possible to other districts to pick children up.

I never was a fan of battle creek public schools to begin with when I was in school, but now that my son is in school my opinon only worsened. Completely unorganized and rude. I have had so many issues with the district its not even funny. And then when I tried to get my son into a different district I was told that I didnt have a good enough reason. So the fact that you, the staff, cant hold it together which makes me worried what the learning environment is like, thats not a good enough reason. the fact that you told me the elementary school for where I live is A and then find out its B, then go to that B schools orientation only to have him not in a class and they have no record of my son at all(even though I was in there weeks before orientation)then to go to the class room where my son was just penciled in only to find the teachers on fb not paying attention to the kids or parents. No explanation of the work they will be doing. No getting to know my son or my son getting to know her. how can you tell me you care about my sons education when you show nothing but disrespect towards him and me and be so unorganized but expect the best out of your students. Yeah, no thank you. charter school it is and will be for my son until high school.

This school did not prepare me for college what so ever. I would suggest to go to a different school that ACTUALLY PREPARES YOU FOR COLLEGE not KCC
