I love the ymca and go swimming a lot and bring my child. The other day the exercise pool was roped off for the slide and a worker was doing a private swim lesson. So when I went To go in there a lifeguard said to me that I couldn’t go in for those reasons. I understood this it was like that last year. Then 30 minutes later the same lifeguard let 2 adults in that area and later two children who were not on the slide. If you are going to have rules they need to be followed by all. And it is up to the lifeguards to make sure they are. This lifeguard was talking to the adults for a while friends or not the rules apply to everyone I have been a paying member for about 6 h

Always so clean. They have many different types of new and innovative machines and equipment. I feel very safe here. Very inclusive as well. Busier in the evening than the morning!

I went to a food giveaway last month. It was awesome. Treated us with so much dignity. Thank you so much to the whole team that put that together. Your community loves you all the more for it.

I would rate the Y a solid 5 but, today changed my resolve. Im 19, I lifted all 4 years of highschool and am getting a dual associates degree as a PTA and Health FItness Specialist. Today I was squatting my last set with 265lbs on a barbell. Since I dont want my back to give out because its been getting sore from working without a belt so I decided to ask for one. They were very polite but told me no,belts are not safe because of COVID and everyone will touch them. Not to be rude but, everything in that gym is touched by everyone. Belts are safety equipment to help protect your back while squatting, bent over rows, military press and a bunch of other exercises. Dose it really make sence to take away safety equipment to keep us safe from a disease that has a 96% survival rate? I urge the Y to re introduce belts back to their members to keep them safe while lifting and just wipe them off when their use is done like they do with literally every other piece of equipment in the facility.

The gym itself is perfectly fine, a little small in the weight training area. The reason I dislike this gym so much is the employees. They’re quite rude. They treat you as if you’re a criminal

Stopped by to pick up my race packet and tour the health expo. This place is amazing. All other fitness and community centers can take note from this place. State of the art. Large windows let’s a ton of light in. The staff is really friendly and helpful. You can tell the people working here love what they do. For hosting such a huge event I was beyond impressed. If I could give six stars I would.

This is the newest YMCA in the area. They have the most space and nicest facilities of any YMCA, probably anywhere in Michigan. Though I have not visited every Y so i cant say fir sure. The parking lot is always packed full cars park on the street surrounding. They should have built a new Y in Saginaw, instead of just remodeling, to relieve some of the traffic from this Y. It seems like people from Saginaw and Midland travel here, because if all the cars are just from people in bay city, they should build another ymca because this place is on high demand.

This is the best gym in Bay City! Indoor track, swimming pool, well maintained equipment and a ton of free fitness classes for members. Not to mention the snow day care for kids.Highly recommend a visit. Plus access to other Ymca facilities across the country.

State of the art facility. Very well maintained and managed. Very Clean. They have it all- Basketball, racquetball, weights, indoor track, huge weight room, 50 treadmills, tons of exercise classes, Olympic size swimming pool in addition to a zero entry wading pool with water features, a big water slide, and a lazy river. Has a kid zone where members can drop young children off for babysitting free of charge. Very nice, large, clean locker rooms with saunas. Has a separate locker room for adolescents in addition to the mens, womens and family locker rooms.

I have been to visit the Y a few times a year since moving to Bay City. The first visits were very nice. I just went to a birthday party over the weekend and was very disappointed. The family locker room was disgusting. Toilets were full of....nasty. Floors were covered in trash. The chlorine of the pool was so bad all of our eyes and noses were burning. Most of the parents werent even swimming. Several of us were sick the next day. The life gaurds around the pool were extremely rude to the children. You can tell children the rules without screaming and belittling them. There was plenty of parents there to help keep the kids in line. I have no interest in returning or having anymore birthday parties there.

Awsome place to workout. The large influx of liberals can be an issue if you love your country. Seems to be alot of communism supporters here. Pro Americans encouraged to join to offset this imbalance.Besides that I would encourage anyone thats looking to get fit and be around other fit people its a great place.

To say it’s state of the art is laughable. I’ve been to gyms in the larger cities and this doesn’t even compare - perhaps ok for this area but leaves a lot to be desired. Also the hours of operation are not conducive to someone serious about making gains

Make sure to bring your own towel if you are paying for a guest pass. Otherwise they charge $10 for a thin white one to use.

There needs to be closer attention to younger members who are wild, rowdy and undisciplined by their adults (if theyre with adults at all). If they had more times where supervision was given it would be much more enjoyable.

Would give it a 5 ☆ but the lack of supervision for the younger members keeps me from going at certain times especially around the time school is let out. Ive seen members knocked down from horseplay and little has been done to correct this.
