Ive been meaning to leave feedback. Our daughter was afraid to swim at the beginning of this summer. No one could teach her and she was being quite stubborn about it. She was about to turn 6 and was still scared. She hated swim class at first. The instructors at BSS have changed this completely. Theyve all been great, but Tyrell and Shyrone particularly both have an amazing teaching style. I cant say enough great things about them. My daughter loves going to swim now and its built so much confidence in her to see that she can overcome her fears and thrive. I get a little teared up thinking about her progress. She is now learning backstroke, freestyle, and happily jumps right in the water. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

First off, the pricing for this school is outrageous. Nearly $200 a month for 30 minute GROUP classes. If there are four students in the class, your child will only get about 10 minutes max of learning time with the instructor since every child needs to wait their turn and while they’re in the water, the instructor does one quick movement with them and then they go right back to sitting down. Also, if you have a child that is under 3, please dont waste your time. I have a two year old who loves water and wants to jump right in (as most kids do), I was told by the Bayonne Manager that they “may not always have extra staff to hold my child by the poolside and prevent her from jumping in”. Extra staff? Why would this require “extra” staff? This should be provided during every class. An assistant to hold a baby by the poolside should be provided. You have a 2 year old in your class, you took my tuition money fast as ever and yet Im sitting by the poolside soaking up my work clothes to hold my child by the poolside because nobody is there to assist. The temperature of the room is not the warmest and the fans are blowing so when your child comes up from the pool, they will be shivering. Do yourself a favor and check the surrounding towns. Union City, Jersey City and Hoboken for instance all have the same prices and they are one hour long classes with adequate staffing. This place is just trying to take your money.Also: the response that British Swim school left for me below is a complete lie. I was NEVER offered a different class or additional options. Their staff even agreed with me that the way that the Bayonne location is run is horrible. Sandra, the Manager of the Bayonne location is not professional at all and no, I didn’t “immediately demand my money back”. I gave this school more than enough of a chance to rectify the situation. Sandra, the “Manager” started ignoring me, wouldn’t speak with me over the phone to try to reason with me and they gave me a VERY hard time getting my money back. Being a Manager myself, I know that when a customer is unhappy and they CALL you, you CALL BACK and you reason with them. This never happened so whoever responded on behalf of British Swim School is a joke.

Bayonne Staff was literally horrible, My daughter and I went to the location and was ready when i asked the manager and she carelessly told me the class was canceled. why you did not send us an early notification (I asked) and she replied with no feeling I am sorry. i was totally frustrated and my daughter 4 years old lost trust in her parent, as i could not commit to the promise that she will enjoy swimming in the pool, they affected the relation between me and my daughter and feel no guilty. when i decided i will not deal with this location again, they refused to refund my money while i did not get any service and the whole process and service was horrible. i never expected to deal with these careless staff. I am totally disappointed and when they want to correct their mistake they offered me a free class which was Today Saturday 07/24/2021 but they canceled again with a notice at 2:41 pm while the class was at 4:30 pm. why i should deal with a place with shortage in coaches and horrible staff?

Never doing again. The one star is for the absolutely horrible Swim School scheduling. My great instructor Dasani (she deserves five stars) left the school, I wasnt notified at all. They just kept taking money from my card, and a day before each class, just sent an automated email saying my class was canceled because instructor wasnt available. (No notification that my instructor left). This went on for 3 weeks. I kept calling them and emailing which they didnt respond or pickup. They even missed one absence. Finally one day fortunately a lady picked up the phone and told me (upon repeatedly asking) that my instructor had left the school. She said someone will call me back soon to schedule or confirm next steps. I waited a week only to get no call or emails. I kept calling and emailing them to which they never responded or picked up. A month passes and they post a balance on my account for next month. Absolutely horrible service and would NOT recommend to anyone.

It was a marvelous experience and my instructor was Amazing. I cant wait for my next lesson...

Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of British Swim School. Not only are they reasonably priced the times of the classes are super convenient. All of the instructors are well trained and are all very good teachers. The best part of British Swim School is the convenience of The make up classes. Their app is very efficient and it’s very easy to cancel a class and make it up for another. I am very impressed with the Swim School and very excited about the new addition that will be coming soon the barracuda level.

Terrible management. Terrible costume service. Classes canceled without notice. No classes available for make-up. No money back. No refund. I feel robbed!
