My kids enjoyed the school. They seem to have a good system and good rapport with the children. For that they get 2 stars. My biggest issue is that my wife and I decided to move into a home so of course our address changed. She has military orders in Beaufort and works 5 minutes from the school. Filled out the registration form for NEXT year but due to zoning regulations and our address, in the middle of the school year we were given 10 days to find the kids another school (Even though the form says that proof of military orders would suffice, if this is not the case, the form is misleading). Not sure how you can say you care about our children but then put them in that predicament. I do not take education lightly. Military life is not easy for adults and especially children. Our goal was to have the kids there as long as we could and avoid having them do exactly what we have been forced to do. You would think a little more would be done for the children, moreover, some appreciation shown for a mother who has served her country for 15 years and just wants whats best for her children as she has fought and made sacrifices so that you can do whats best for your family.

Overall, my experience here has been awful. I feel that every problem I have brought to the administrations attention, has been ignored and tossed to the side. There are no set guidelines and discipline except for ones created by the administration themselves. This school is very unfair and the principal can preach about everything yet, takes no action to solve a problem. I have been bullied this school year and the teachers have entertained the person and not ever told her to stop what she is doing. I bring it up to the principal and i am told maybe the problem will go away on its own. The whole year this has been happening so I continue reporting it and what do I get? Nothing. I guess we deal with those kinds of problems ourselves right? Also, some kids will get in trouble for things that are very serious and get the smallest punishment. Overall, this is the only school I have ever felt the most depressed in and I used to go to a public school...that is saying something. I know I am not the only one who feels this way and I know a lot of parents feel the same way. Montessori is a place of peace and community yet everything that is going wrong, is not taken to action. It is so hard to find solutions when an adult higher than us will not listen.

LMS is a beautiful, well planned learning facility. The students are taught how to care for the environment, themselves and each other. The staff is dedicated to giving the students an authentic Montessori education and the students are happy and well educated. I grew up in Shell Point and raised two children in this neighborhood. I have been a certified teacher in the state of South Carolina for over twenty years and believe LMS is an asset to the Shell Point Area and Beaufort County.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL: it is such a scam its like they do anything for money, my mom pays 300 and i get dollar store school supplies! kids lose the calculators ad my math teacher will not provide us with anymore when we pay for them. i ask for another piece of paper and she threatens to charge me for it. its a very unfair depressing place even though there all about positivity when we have teachers talking down on us.

This school doesn’t have any basic teaching fundamentals. For example, the students have to teach them selfs which you know isn’t a good idea because they can play around and act like they did work. Like when the teachers asked for whoever finishes what work and what they did they could lie because there was no grading system. Obviously if a teacher asks who wants to go outside people would do anything to get out of this horrible school.

We love LMS!! My daughter has learned to appreciate school and everyone around her. She has always been very smart but now strives to really do her best at school. The sense of community and a family atmosphere are so welcoming for us. I am so grateful that we have an alternative choice to public schools in Beaufort. I work near Beaufort public high school and we are blessed to not have to attend there. LMS is the best!!! People are kind, understanding and passionate about their role in childrens lives!!!

I would give 0 stars if I could. Constantly inconsistent with the rules and discipline.

Because the most of the parents that have children in this school are setting a bad example for their children when they drive 50+ mph in a residential neighborhood. Someone is going to get hurt or God forbid and then the school and county will be facing a major lawsuit because they put the primary entrance to the school through a residential area.
