Arther Murray Dance Studio in Beaverton is wonderful. The instructors are amazing - patient, kind, friendly and know what they are doing. In addition to professional private lessons, the dance classes are included and the practice parties, which sometimes have fun themes. I cant say enough good things about Tom, Shannon, Taylor, Brennan, Phil, Jose and the rest. There is someone you will resonate with to help learn all of the dances that you want to learn and more. I go for fun, but many seem to learn for weddings or other special occasions. Anyway, as you can tell Im a fan. If you are on the fence about going, go and check it out!

While not my home studio, the staff are as knowledgeable, skilled, friendly, and welcoming as any other Arthur Murray. The in studio culture is what really sets Arthur Murray above the rest.

Arthur Murray Dance Studio -Beaverton is an amazing place to go learn to dance. They changed my life and I know many of their students would tell you the same. I went in to learn to dance but I not only got to learn how to dance, I found myself! I am a better and happier person because of it. The staff there are wonderful caring people and will do all they can to make your experience as good as they can. It might be a fantasy land in there but it changes you. You learn to live life to the fullest. Hey where else would you find a place to learn how to dance beautifully and become beautiful inside and outside. Go try it out for yourself and you will not regret it.

My husband got me a gift certificate for us to learn dancing six years ago for valentines day, it was the most romantic gift ever. We thought wed be going for one maybe two years but the longer we go the more we love learning to dance. Now retired we find its a great way to exercise our minds and bodies. Its created a very active social life for us, besides the lessons and parties at the studio there are many other studio sponsored events. We now attend more charity events and people are always impressed with how well we dance. We love our teachers and they and the management are very supportive. If there were ten stars Id give it ten.

If you are considering ballroom dancing, AM Beaverton is simply the best. The staff is highly trained to ensure you become the best dancer you can. This is important since everyone is unique. My husband and I have been dancing for 9 years now. The friends we have made are priceless. We dance to get our exercise which is way more fun than a gym. Come see for yourself.

I was disappointed in how little we learned and felt regularly solicited to as if dancing was secondary. We wanted to learn a couple of dances and decided to do the $20 trial. Despite knowing which dances we wanted to learn, we were told we had to complete the beginners program first which teaches you fundamentals of 6 dances to help narrow down the types of dances you want to learn. It doesnt matter if you already know or took lessons in the past. The beginners package also includes social things like practice parties and group lessons. We were offered 10% off. I saw a Halloween party on the event calendar they gave us and wanted to attend it. We ended up signing up, thinking $668 dollars for two people to learn 6 dances and go to the social events sounded like a great value, despite only one of the dances we wanted to learn being in the 6 they pitched (Foxtrot, Waltz, Rumba, Salsa, Tengo, Swing). They have other dances to choose from, but they put a lot of pressure on us to keep the first three of that list. First lesson comes and goes and is enjoyable. We stayed for the group lesson as well. We were waiting at the front desk to book our next lessons and an instructor came over and asked if she could help us. She started helping book our lessons when the sales guy came over and without saying a word to her, gestured for her to get out of the chair. She got up, told him she already booked one lesson, and pointed to where she was about to book the second. He ignores her, turns to us, and starts talking. He continues to ignore her until she realizes its a lost cause and walks away. He proceeds to cram the rest of our lessons into two weeks insisting that two per week is better, which I dont disagree with, but that dramatically takes away from all the bonus events we were upsold with and definitely takes off the Halloween party. We asked if we could go to the Halloween party if we finish our lessons a couple of weeks before and he said events are only for current members and would not let us do one lesson per week to span it out so we could attend. We were told the third lesson would entail splitting us up to get a form critique one-on-one with an instructor. Mine was with the sales guy and more than half the lesson was being solicited their Bronze program where you get to choose which dances you want to focus on and actually learn how to dance. I asked him how much it cost and he kept sidestepping. I knew hed save it for the last lesson and try and pressure us. After the lesson, he goes over the Bronze program again and we sign off that we had just completed lessons 3 and 4. I was taken aback by this as I thought we still had three more and didnt realize lesson 3 counted as two lessons. When I asked about it, instead of listening to my concern and discussing it he just said No, signed off that we completed lessons 3 and 4, and walked away. The remaining sessions were similar to the first, learning only the basic steps and one turn per dance. Despite only learning the basics, all of the women instructors we had were lovely. I have no qualms with their ability to teach us or interactions with them, it was the nature of the business package that limited them. We went to three beginners group lessons which are supposed to be three random dances, but each was Waltz, Rumba, and the Hustle. After our last lesson, we sat down with the owner, who already had a Bronze program itinerary in hand for us to go over. After we told him we didnt want to continue due to the cost ($136 per lesson with the suggestion of putting in 50 lessons to master a dance implying that with two dances youd put in 13K) he said he felt blindsided and that he and the team thought we were shoe-ins. Like they had us in the bag or something. They teach you just enough to look boring on the dance floor. If youre in it to learn expert form, and want to take as long as possible while blowing a hole in your wallet, go here. I learned double the dances and four times the moves in my ballroom dancing class in community college that cost me $35.

I highly recommend this place. Started taking lessons about six months ago and I am already seeing so much improvement and having a blast. My main teacher is Tom and he is nothing short of phenomenal. I have also had lessons with Shannon too she has been excellent. All the instructors are light hearted and fun and at the same time or very serious about seeing you improve. Highly recommended for ballroom dancing lessons.

I love the Beaverton Arthur Murray dance studio! The teachers are great and make you feel like you’re a part of the family. They have a variety of group lessons Tuesday-Saturday and practice parties throughout the week. These are really helpful to put into practice what you learn during private lessons. I would definitely recommend visiting this studio for dance lessons of all types.

I have been a student at Arthur Murray Beaverton for the last 2.5 years. I would never go anywhere else to learn to dance. I danced at other places before finding this studio. I have had five dance teachers and I can honestly say that my teacher at AMBeaverton is the best Ive ever had. I have been working with him for the past 2 years. He is incredibly knowledgeable and a perfect balance of technique and fun. The entire staff cares so much about each student and making sure that we have the best experience possible. If you have ever wanted to dance or had a passing thought that it would be fun, I highly recommend Arthur Murray Beaverton, it is a magical place.

My girlfriend and I wanted to take dance lessons together. We each had some dance experience and enjoy dancing at clubs and country bars. Before we made the decision to dance at Arthur Murray Beaverton we tried a different company in downtown Portland for comparison. Im sure we would have learned a lot at the other studio but the friendliness of the Arthur Murray Beaverton staff was hard to beat. Weve been dancing at Arthur Murray for almost 10 months now and love it. Dance lessons are a commitment of time and money but the results have been very rewarding and we can always count on an ample supply of smiles and laughs from the staff and students. Weve had the opportunity to take lessons with several different instructors and they have all been great. Each instructor has there own style but they are all fun, friendly and knowledgeable. Since starting lessons, my girlfriend and I have had many opportunities to dance at weddings, parties and clubs and we get a lot more complements now than we ever did before, must be working :)

Ive been to many dance studios, but I recommend Arthur Murray Beaverton as one of the best studios I have joined. I moved to Portland 2 years ago, not knowing a single person, but AM Beaverton helped me find many friends who I can now call family. Both the staff and the students are very welcoming, and stepping into the studio instantaneously lets me forget about any bad days I have because the studio is so fun! Dancing at this studio is also a great way to stay in shape because they offer many group classes throughout the week, including Saturdays. If you have never danced before, this studio is a great place to get started. The instructors will teach the dances at a speed you are comfortable, and you can tailor your program with the dances you like. Once you advance in your program, the instructors can also teach you technical aspects of dance, such as performance skills.

I have been taking lessons from Shannon and Tom for over 5 years now. When I started, I can honestly say that I did not know a single step to any dance. Now I can confidently do at least 10 dances. When my wife and I dance in public, people are always coming up to us, telling us how great we are (we really arent) and telling us how they wished they knew how to dance too. Well, you can! Just start! It is fun, great exercise, and provides you with a close family of other students and teachers. No more watching TV in the evenings. We have an active social life. It is fun. Try it!

Never having taken dance lessons before, I did not know what to expect when I first came to the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. What I found was an excellent staff who really care about all their students and make the whole experience wonderful. It feels like I am with very dear friends every time I am at the studio. They make learning how to dance so much fun that it amazes me how much I have learned in such a short time. It has made all the difference to me to find something I enjoy so much with a wonderful instructor who truly cares about what I want to get out of the dance lessons.

I cant imagine not having dance in my life know. I would highly recommend Arthur Murray for their professionalism, amount of knowledge, and ability to cater to each students needs and wants.

We have been going to this dance studio for over 5 years. We started just to learn a dance for our oldest daughters wedding but enjoyed it so much we continued taking lessons. Shannon and Tom have been there the whole time and have been our teachers for that time as well. They are GREAT! They are patient, and kind. It is NEVER intimidating and everyone is so welcoming there. They make learning to dance so easy to do. We have learned Foxtrot, Rumba, Hustle, Cha Cha, Two step, and Swing. We feel that if we are at any function where there is music, we can dance. I highly recommend Arthur Murray but in particular I would go to the Beaverton studio.
