DO NOT GO HERE, you will be wasting your money and time. There was 6 people in my graduating class, and none of us graduated. The school is so poorly run, and they still owe me tools that they will not give me unless I pay upfront $5000, and for what? Me to still not get an education? I was clocked out by unprofessional teachers because they didn’t communicate with each other when switching classrooms because “we weren’t busy” I paid and drove over an hour to get to that school. And never mind the fact that they won’t teach you certain hairstyles or working with certain hair types because it isnt a demographic for their area, and the teachers don’t know how to teach you that, setting you up for failure in the industry. BYE

I was an instructor from 2002-2006. The school had some really good educators. I went back to teach again in 2018. The changes in the school and instructors were a shock. I was let go because I was teaching the new students the correct way-according to the textbook. The specialist in the classroom had no idea of how to do hair. She never worked in the salon! Offering no work experience and was jelous of me. So I was let go being the knowledgeable 20 year instructor.

Poor front desk customer service. I was a new customer at this location yesterday for supplies purchase. Online stated purchase of liter tea mint shampoo and conditioner bought together was 50.00 so I went to this location to purchase. Was charged 76.00! Forgot styling gel so went next day, today, to purchase and inquired what the price was on the liter tea mint shampoo/conditioner and was told 50.00. I expressed O had to pay 76.00 yesterday and asked if they would honor the 50.00 price and was told no. Explained I came to that store because the price was 50.00 and I was told even though they sell Paul Mitchell they were Michaels School. This first time customer will not purchase again from here!

This is the worst school ever! The learning leaders have little to no experience! They treat you like crap! Good luck with financial aide... if you have money coming back to you it will not be dispersed in a timely manner! The place is a joke. Do some research before paying the $150 application fee, which is non refundable. I took a leave of absence for a medical reason. They told me with a Drs note I would not get overtime charges, to date I see no reflect of this in my monthly statements. So, like most students that graduate, I will owe the school thousands of dollars before being able to get my diploma, or be able to work to pay off the $22,000 in student loans. You are basically shown things once and then expected to do it and learn it yourself! Definitely look into other schools, or you, like most; will be dissatisfied with your educational choice!

I want to start by saying I feel bad for currently enrolled students in this school. It is ran extremely poorly and the owner cuts corners when it comes to actually fixing the school. There has been trash cans in the hallway where the roof is leaking, there’s duct tape around broken sinks where they wash the guests hair and the tiles are falling off the wall. I never get confirmation calls from the front desk and when I walk in everyone has a sour look on their face. I’ve heard so many negative experiences from current and past students. This school is not as great as they try to make it look. I will never be back, it is a very unpleasant experience to have. I will never recommend this school or salon services to anyone I know. Try touring the Portsmouth school, or even empire before you make a mistake.

I was a student there in fall of 2009 and spring of 2010. I absolutely LOVED this school and instructors! The instructors are from the field(at least when I was there) they specialized in certain services, color, cut, make up, etc. Highly recommend this school!!!

Please update your hours of operation on Google. I came by today because I checked to see if you were open today before I left home. I wanted to buy some product. Your hours say 8:30-4pm, I got to the school at 10am to realize you were closed. Very disappointing...

Zatavia did a wonderful job on my hair. I had corrective color on my hair. it was perfect. The instructor (I believe her name was Krystal?) She was extremely an excellent instructor Kudo to yourself!!! So one cosmetologist to another you did a wonderful job while training Zatavia. I was a hairstylist 1982-2002 (I had a stroke and cant use my right arm, and very hard to explain how I wanted my hair) thank you thank you both for a excellent time. The cost for my color would have been 100$ plus, I paid a third of it, for the quality of the product Paul Mitchell is#1. Thank-you again Lora 😁✂️💇

This school is a joke. For $20k you get uneducated teachers who have no learning plans. Teachers here are well under paid and have zero years of hands on in the field training. They disrespect students and treat them like children. The fundraising never stops. You are encouraged to raise money for the school and you can PAY to wear certain clothes and are always asking for donations. The money goes right to the owner and the school and students benefit zero from their efforts. Seek other schools before wasting your time here. You are guaranteed to be disappointed if you come here. Come on in and ask any of the students here. Its a fact this school is a joke!!!

Very understanding, supportive, and accommodating instructors and staff. Cant say enough about how they have been with my daughter throughout her illness with mono. Thank you all!

I dont know why Ive been going to actual salons my whole life, schools are the way to go! My daughter LOVES going to the sawom. Shes 3 & had her first mani& pedi at michaels around 2 yrs old. She behaves well for them& the girls are amazing! Theyre super patient if I have to get up & help her use the potty or whatever and if theyre not busy theyll entertain her if my services take longer than expected (I also make sure to bring an iPad & snacks just in case). She lets them wash & comb her hair (I have to chase her while she screams NO! If I try to do it).

There arent enough ways to say how much I enjoyed my Michaels experiences! I went in because I had a Groupon for a mani-pedi. The student (Maddy) who performed my service was awesome. She made me feel pampered and special ... and thats what you want with a mani-pedi, right? 😀I had been thinking about getting a perm and I mentioned this to Maddy. She enthusiastically expressed that this was a service available at the school. Her positive attitude convinced me to go ahead and book the service. Again, I felt pampered and special throughout the lengthy process and was extremely happy with the results.This time we talked about purple highlights ... how fun does that sound? Ill be going back a third time in a couple if weeks to do just that. I cant wait!!

Great school! everyone is so nice and will work to get you exactly what you want.

Horrible experience. Ask for a trim of about 2 inches. Two HOURS later I walk out with maybe an inch off and no more layers (which I had going in). I was very disappointed. Called to try to have them correct it and the only time they had available to come in was 8 at night. Will NOT be going back!
