Ridge view is a good school it has good teachers .There are a few things that I have to shake my head about, for the third grade they wait till they are quiet that wastes up the time they could be eating. In the fourth grade and third grade you should be allowed to have your phone out a lunch and recess.The lunch rules are are too much archaic for example you cant talk everyone needs a little time to talk .

My youngest is currently a student at Ridgeview Elementary and my oldest went through there years ago. The teachers and staff at Ridgeview Elementary are stellar and an asset to the students there. They genuinely care about these kids and do everything possible to set them up for future success. However........I visited several times during lunch and just had to shake my head at the rules that have been imposed since my oldest went through the school. Recess and lunch are a time for these young kids to release pent up energy, visit with their friends and release pent up energy from a very full curriculum. The recess and lunch periods at the elementary level are not benefitting them in that way. Their outside recess time is around 18 minutes, then they go inside to collect their lunch before heading to the cafeteria. They arent release to walk to the cafeteria until there is utter silence - quite an amazing feat for more than 100 children but this waiting takes away from their time to eat. In addition - when they do get to the lunchroom, they are not allowed to sit with friends, save a seat for a friend, hot and cold lunch kids are separated and not allowed to sit together and in this rushed meal period, they are constantly being shushed. I think the social interaction and time that talking IS allowed is important to better focus after lunch and benefit them during the remainder of their day and yet it seems more and more theyre being filtered and silenced.

Rige veiw elementary is a good school the teachers are committed to the students ,however the strict rules on the kids during recess and lunch prohibit students from expending pent-up energy. Doesnt let them go to lunch on time and doesnt allow for them to visit with their friends during the day . Changing these rules would benefit the kids by allowing them tme with their friends

Irrational lunch rules 25 minutes to let your energy out 5 minutes standing in the hallway 👺20 minutes to eat separating hot from cold lunchers you cant save a seat for your friend you cant talk at all in the lunch room you cant wait for your Friends but the teachers are great pleasure change these rules.

Its not too close to home.
