My daughter has been trying to schedule drives for over a month and there are never any appointments available. I was forced to waive her last three drives in order to get the documents we need for her to get her license. Then when I got the documents, Safeway did not fill out the 7 drives she had done with them. Very disappointing!

If I am just rating the driving instructors and quality of the curriculum, I would give 5 stars. BUT, be warned that it is nearly impossible to schedule drive appointments. New appointments for the following week are loaded online every Wednesday at 5:00 pm. Starting at 4:58 p.m. I sit at the computer and constantly refresh the screen for 15 minutes, hoping to get at least one appointment for my daughter. Its worse than scheduling a COVID vaccine when they first came out. When an appointment is available, the system crashes and disappears. I regret buying a package with so many drive appointments because I dont think I can get them scheduled before the deadline. Because of the companys severe lack of appointment availability at the Bellaire location, I do not recommend this drive school.

We would highly recommend Safeway for driving lessons. Our son enjoyed his driving experience and the instructors were top notch. He even requested one instructor on a routine basis as they developed a very good rapport. He also took his driving test at Safeway.

Best driving experience ever! Everyone is patient and kind and always do their best to help Safeway drivers.

All the employees at the Bellaire Tx location are very nice, patient, they have great communication skills and are very helpful.

Danielle was very helpful when my daughter wasnt able to log in to schedule her drive times. I called, she picked up on the first ring and was very nice. She patiently walked us through the process and even got her scheduled!

I took Safeway driving at the Bellaire location and had a very rewarding experience. The instructors were patient which is what I liked most since I did not start out as the most confident driver. I would recommend this driving school to all new drivers because it is a great and safe (hence the safe in Safeway) program.

DO NOT TAKE DRIVING TEST AT SAFEWAY. They do not have any record of test results that can be regenerated in a manner acceptable to DPS for acquisition of license. TAKE TEST AT DPS--they can regenerate driving test results should there be a need. Safeway sent us digitized versions of the results after posting of this review, however they have not provided sealed copies for us to take to DPS to obtain the license--the copies provided in their current format are of no use.

Safeway Driving (Bellaire, TX ) is a great place to get driving lessons from! Hours are flexible and the instructors are patient and professional and calm and will answer any questions you have. I highly recommend this school for everyone especially for beginners.

My daughter recently finished up her last driving lesson with Safeway and always comes back home telling us how confident she feels when driving. They let the students drive a Safeway car and the instructor is able to brake, if needed. You are meant to observe another student for one hour and then drive for one hour. After 7 in-car lessons, you’re no longer required to do the hour long observations. They make sure to work on u-turns, parallel parking, regular parking, and on the 6th and 8-10 lessons are on the highway. All the other lessons are either neighborhood or streets. They cover everything in a calm way and always let her know at the end of her lesson what she needs to work on. She started her first lesson, very nervous and now she is a very confident driver. Very proud with the results and would 10/10 recommend. The staff is very sweet and welcoming, as well.

Safeway Driving School was great for my twin boys and gave them the tools to become excellent drivers. We never had an issue with scheduling and the instructors taught them well. As a result, they shared what they learned with us.....their parents ....to make us better drivers!

Im currently enrolled in the driving program at Safeway here and it is great. A good environment an instructors that really care to help you. All the instructors a patient and ready to answer questions when you have them. I would 100% recommend Safeway for you or your teen.

More complain is about schedule a drive time? Hope people should understand they are limited of having good instructors. I still like this school becaus they do not do the fake reviews (by hundred) making them show up a 5 star like most of other driving school doing.

I sent my twins to Safeway Driving. It’s affordable, they have several cars so there no waiting for an available car, one may schedule all drive times online, which is a a wonderful tool to use to keep tack of who is driving when. They also offer driving classes online as well as defensive driving.My kids had a wonderful experience at Safeway. They make is so easy for the parents, too. Drop off and pick up!

I had an amazing experience continuing my driving education at this Safeway. Every instructor was extremely qualified to teach driving and I would highly recommend this location for anybody who would like to continue or start their driving education.

My daughter did Safeway driving and she loved it. They help you get your permit and license and makes everything easy. The there are never any drives available rumor is not true, there are constantly plenty of drives posted and updated. Also, Jacob is a great driving instructor!

Having recently relocated to the Houston area, we were referred to Safeway by a friend who had a very positive experience. There are 2 components to the experience 1) The Online Course 2) The Training. The online course is very thorough and asks questions which encourage, in fact almost force, the student to be engaged - no multitasking. This is unique and has the result of getting the student to retain much of what is presented. In Texas, passing the test through Safeway also allows the student to bypass taking the test onsite at the DPS which is a huge advantage. As for the training, there is a high demand, and during high seasons (school vacation periods), scheduling drives can be difficult at the last second. That said, the office bends over backwards to assist in getting the drives scheduled, and are very understanding of scheduling complications. Plan ahead and engage them with a phone call - they are friendly. They have several locations centrally located. Most importantly, the educators are totally awesome! They have a systematic curriculum which makes instructors consistent and gets total beginners comfortable with the road quickly. They leverage modern-age technology to model various driving situations, and they preach being courteous on the road. What a concept! Having experienced schools in other states, and seen poor results from other options in Texas, Safeway is really, really good, and listens to their clients to get better.

Very friendly and helpful signing up, after that you are cut loose and on your own! HORRIBLE customer service!! Attempted to schedule my sons final driving exam with them, interestingly enough it was just as quick to get it with the DPS!! They do not answer email in a timely matter, if at all!! Would not recommend!

All three of our kids have gone through Safeways program and weve been pleased! Our third one is almost done with the online material and Nancy, the office manager at our Bellaire location, has been *really* helpful in scheduling the drives & observation times before our summer ends.

Great drive with Jesse, he is a really good driving instructor. Nancy is so sweet and very very helpful. Alex is very funny and an amazing instroctor. Eric is amazing, he is an amazing instructor without him I could have not been the safe/good driver I am today

They were somewhat helpful when we needed to add time, though we still had to pay. Drive times almost impossible to schedule online. Will schedule when you call, but of course you have to reach them for that to happen - which is rare.

My experience was hit and miss. The instructors are great (although I did drive by a student driver on my way out of the parking lot and the instructor was texting on his phone as his student was exiting the parking lot). However, management gets 0 out of 5 - they never answer the phone, rarely return calls when messages are left and are rude when you finally get in touch with someone. Unfortunately, there arent a lot of options out there. We opted for the minium instruction because it was such a hassle to schedule appointments.

The online website lessons are very helpful, but scheduling drives is an absolute nightmare. I keep checking daily for available times within the next 2-3 weeks, but there arent any drives available. This was a complete waste of $500.

COMPLETE and UTTER scam. NO drive times, customer service, or teachers interested in seeing their students succeed. 10/10 would not recommend. Save your self the time by not using this company. Again I repeat, DO NOT USE SAFEWAY DRIVING SCHOOL!!! You will be much happier with Houston Area Driving School or another driving school in the area. TRASH ALERT!

The instructors are great. However if I could rate safeway managements 0/5 I would. The receptionists never answer the phone and are basically unreachable. Waste of time and money always.

Think carefully before you choose safeway. It is virtually impossible to get appropriate drive times, especially for students. Youre paying a lot of money for no customer service.

Drivers are nice people for the most part, but this is not a worthy experience. Only around seven sessions of driving for an hour for way too much money; not only that but scheduling is awful. Fees for showing up slightly late or unable to make it and even more fees when too many schedules are filled up and you cant finish your driving course on time. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Unless you already know how to drive (as a student) andif you have all the free time in the world even then insurance benefit is not worth it. There is nothing to be gained here but frustration and annoyance

Safeway Driving is a joke. Way too many kids than drives available forcing you to constantly extend at $150 every time. All courses on-line so they really add no value. They do not return phone calls either

Safeway has been a very good choice of a driving school to me, they are all very nice and friendly people and the instructors are very nice and insightful on what they teach us in the cars and have made me a good driver.

Very few available drive times (even though they are PREPAID). Phone is rarely answered. Rude and unhelpful when a person actually does answer. Very frustrating experience. Do not use them!

The staff and instructors are very pleasant and helpful in the curriculum makes sense. That said we have experienced two kinds of issues.Firstly, the online instruction would not allow my child to continue the curriculum at two separate times and therefore we lost valuable time trying to complete the coursework. The school did credit us a couple of extra days at the end to make up for the time the online learning tool was not working. However this was still a frustrating experience and seems inexplicable for a company that relies on this tool.Secondly, the amount of available drive times is insufficient for the number of students. We have been attempting to schedule drive times for the past month and have never been able to pick among several times that makes sense for us. Over the past month we have checked back consistently two to three times a day and in total have seen four available drive times some of which were posted only 2 hours before they started .At this rate were certain to lose some of our prepaid drives. Drive scheduling has been a frustrating disappointment.(I noted the owners response to a similar review about difficulty attempting to schedule during the summer months due to vacations, however our attempts have been over September and October).
