I attended the school in 2012 as an exchange student and I loved the school. The teachers were really nice, people were friendly, everything about the school was pleasant. I even made it to the varsity team and everyone made me feel like home. Have some of the most beautiful memories attached to this place. The only complaint I had was that sometimes the washrooms were dirty, otherwise the schools really good.

Going to this school was one of the greatest blessings in life. It helped me so much for my college and the teachers are very nice and help you out as much as possible. The ROTC program truly changed my life. They are the most extraordinary people of all time, and help you make a change into your community. Best school ever!!

I attended Bellaire from 1965-1969. Back then it already had 3,000 students but NO air conditioning. It was nicknamed Hebrew High because of high proportion of Jewish kids. On Jewish holidays the AP classes (we called them Honors classes) were 1/3 empty. I apologize for the stereotype but those kids were smart and we had over 30 national merit finalists the year I graduated. Also the football team went to the state championship game, so there was excellence all around.I was able to take Calculus and Russian there, which was pretty unusual at that time. I had some of the best teachers of my life at Bellaire, including my French teacher, Madame Glass, long gone from this world, Im sure. Wherever you are, God bless you, Mme. Glass. I get compliments on my accent to this day because of you.Of course there were cliques and sadistic gym coaches, heartbreak and all the usual high school BS as well as friends and learning. I pray you will mostly enjoy your time in High School and grow up to contribute to humanity. When I left drugs were just starting to appear, there as everywhere. I can tell you from experience they will f you up and send you off course. Do yourself and all of us a favor: stay clean and sober. Work diligently to make something of yourself. This high school was and is a good springboard, but youre responsible for your own life.

This high school will bring you difficult challenges but also allows you to excel in your own way. There are many opportunities if you seek and search for them. Its really a way to show you the real world. Some teachers are great while others do not aid the students at all.

Quite a good experience so far, from the students to the teachers to the curriculum. The exterior of the school is decent, yes, but the inside is full of students that actually care! Same as the teachers! I have not had a bad teacher at this school, and I see nothing but goodness in the future for me. Quite the nice experience.

If you want a true high school experience, then Bellaire is the right school for you! The school is a melting pot of all kinds of people, and gives you a glimpse of the real world. The people are good and the teachers, although there are some who just want to destroy your experience. The lunch is so-so, and there is a wide variety of food to choose from (as long as you have the money). Lastly, you can wear those clothing your middle school had made a big deal about, because the is free dress.

Because Bellaire is one of the best schools in Houston. I was thinking about playing soccer JV for here. And, I love to be in Bellaire. I am in ROTC because it is the best activity than gym.

This school is honestly depressing Im not even trying to be funny or anything but in the few weeks I been here I have given up on life Im honestly ready to die. This school has no spirt the teachers dont teach u just look at the board write what they write and if u cant finish it on time to bad for you. In all honesty dont put ur child or anyone in this school this may have been one of the top schools in the 1900s but not anymore just take my advice and go to any other school this is not a school for u if u want to have a good future.

I was in the first graduating class of this high school. I transferred in as a junior. The first year there was no senior class, since the school district didnt move seniors-to-be from their previous schools. It was a new school then, but there were problems with the faculty. Also, in the first year, someone smeared black paint all over one wall of the auditorium. The principal left it in place to remind us all how uncaring students were. Mostly, that told me the faculty and administration were uncaring. I lived less than a block away, so I always underestimated how long it would take to walk there. Always late for the first class. Im sorry to see the other reviews saying how terrible the school is now.

It is no longer the school it once was. I started freshman year back in 2011 and everything was incredible. There was an immense diversity of different races and cultures which made the school a nice experience the first 3 years. By the time I was in senior year, the school was doing downhill fast. Students that werent zoned started to use fake addresses to attend. Drugs became more rampant, teachers were increasingly becoming lazy, too many students made the halls incredible packed with almost no where to walk without shoving into someone, and the cleanliness of the school decreased. Im glad I graduated before it got to the point is is now, it had become filled with reckless and disrespectful teenagers. Many of which are zoned to schools like Madison, Lamar, and Yates.

I went to this school for almost 3 years until I moved halfway through my junior year, and sadly there are more bad things than good things. The teachers don’t care anymore, I think there tired of lazy students who only come to waste time, but it also affects the students who want to learn because they come off as grumpy and annoyed. You are mostly given packets and worksheets to work throughout the class and homework with elaborate questions that you are not taught to do. Students including myself have had to stay up past midnight trying to finish worksheets that would’ve have been easier to complete if it would have been taught to us. The environment is no longer pleasant, it’s filled with drugs, sex and just people who don’t want to learn. I used to walk to tutorials and see so many people making out in the hallways, it’s disgusting. Some of the staff are sweet but mostly rude and pissy, especially Mrs. Alma. Overall Bellaire High school is not as good as it was before and I encourage you to keep looking.

THIS IS FAR THE WORST HIGH SCHOOL EMPLOYEES..... I enrolled my two boys today 8/10/2017 and the lady name Alma was so rude. First thing she said when she saw me was do you have your paper work, i said well the front office said they didnt have any more enrollment packet so I dont have that than she looked at me as if I was stupid she said no your copies of birth certificate, utility, etc.... and I said yes I do not. Than with the attitude well you know you needed to bring 3 copies of each document and it went on and on with her horrible customer service. I CANNOT BELIEVE I JUST ENROLLED MY CHILDREN IN THIS SCHOOL WITH PEOPLE LIKE HER WORKING SHE SEEMED LIKE SHE DOESNT LIKE WHAT SHE DOSE, AND KNOWING I HAVE HEARING AIDS I GUESS I DISGUSTED HER AS SHE HAD TO OFTEN REPEAT HERSELF TO ME. I dont know what bothered her more the fact I kept asking the same thing because I could not hear clearly or she just did not like me from the start. Than she mumble with the register Ms. Franklin she came at me than said you know you are taking up time you are supposed to bring your own copies, you got a email, I said did not get it. I got a reminder but it didnt say that so i felt like they both attacked me with that. Than I continued to fill out the paper work, i finished i gave it to Ms. Alma she did not speak a word to me, Ms. Franklin called one of my sons them the other into her office i was waiting to see if alma needed anything else I sat there waiting as she was looking at my paper work I asked am I finished she said yes I said ok youve should have told me I said to myself. I felt discriminated and I will report her on the other hand I think Ms. Franklin notice my hearing aids quickly after that and treated me so very nice after that she even gave me a hug at the end. At least she notice that I couldnt hear clearly, and maybe than she knew why I couldnt understand quickly and regretted the way they both treated me at first. BUT ALMA WILL HAVE TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES OF HER DISCRIMINATION AGAINST ME. I will for sure contact the school board regarding this. And I will make it clearly if my children get harrase by them because of what Im about to do, they will also have to face retaliation as well as the discrimination. As my childrens school record have no bad reputation.

If you want to be a winner and you want to go to the best colleges in the world then this is your school. This school is a college school the kids should know what is expected of them. If the students dont want to do their responsibilities the teachers are not there to make them do it, its all up to them to be in the winners side or losers side. Also the faculty staff are not there to babysit the parents. My experiences have been positive. Im a Bellaire High School Parent and let me tell you Ive seen parents go crazy just because theyre not getting their way, or theyre mad because their loser kids are not doing what theyre supposed to and blame the staff. To those parents let me just tell you one sentence: GROW UP AND GO GET ATTENTION FOR YOURSELVES SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I went here and it was bad started 2013 i gotta say i wasted my time here but its alright nothing to much to it but oh well Been here for 4 years left jan. Because coming to you from my experience theres a bunch of fake people disrespectful people here bunch of drug activity i also did the same too but I changed cause Im all grown up now and much stronger than ever and the weak man I was and more matured. But oh well let me explain the Cops here and administration is horrible some teachers as well. People here are messed up here and very rude and straight up childish and well will teach you a valuble lesson but i moved on its all good its over with now so theres nothing to worry about. But this place will bring back memories and all of that had some good times but majority were bad.. But overall this place will teach you real life situations and how to handle situations with people in the real world you may encounter in the future so the next time you meet these kind of people you have to know what to say and react and tell them straight up and fight back and defend yourself and tell them straight up. All I gotta say is this school really changed myself and my overall life and I had been through the phases of every teen there and did wrong too but it was my fault and okay but just to put my point here dont come here find somewhere else because these people here dont show no good just more harm. Im Glad that im gone and will never comeback to this place hope you people understand this place is not the place to go.... Not trying to hate but its the truth from experience so just try to get my message. Dont delete this review cause its true. But goodbye take care and Peace

Horrible school, simply put. Many teachers are disrespectful to their students (although many are not and I love those few teachers), a certain AP is a disrespectful, insulting, and overall a horrible man, and very few people will help you out when you need it most. What is making the situation of this school even worse is the group of students. Many at this school are amazing kids that I have become very close to; but it seems like the overwhelming majority of the student population are violent people. There are certain restrooms of the school that are known for a specific type of illegal drug, and certain places that people like me tend to avoid if possible such as the cafeteria, specific places of the courtyard, and the space between the boys lockeroom and the cardinal cove (where the exercise equipment are left out in the open). I genuinely do not feel safe here. The situation for myself has gotten so horrible that I have recently withdrawn from this school and started attending another, with academic excellence and a more RESPECTFUL student body. The quality of life at the school is abismal. There is constantly trash everywhere, the restrooms are filled with graffiti and gang signs written in stalls, and the school has stopped putting hand towels and soap in the restroom because everyone just pours it on the floor and shoves the hand towels in the toilet - you know, instead of using either for hygiene! The school has around 3500 students, all clustered into 3 floors in the building which translates to lots of shoving and pushing in the halls - which some students actually end up fighting over smh. The school turns off AC on weekends, which makes the school unbearably hot on Mondays, and refuse to turn it on because ONE person in a house behind the school complained about the noise; because that totally means that we - the 3500 students - should have to suffer. Because that totally makes sense ya know?Overall I would never recommend this school to anyone. When asked about BHS, I try to make it perfectly clear that this school is not the high achieving; preppy high school that it once was. And given the direction that this school is headed, it probably never will be again.
