I went to this school as a freshmen this year and had the best experience. All my teachers were nice and were eager to teach and were not terrible as some people say. The students I met were very social and were not as mean as people expect us to be. Another thing I would like to mention is the school building is not in the best condition and could use a renovation or just a new school and the cafeteria doesnt have enough seats for all the students sometimes students have to stand or sit on a window ledge because the tables are all taken. So far this school hasnt been as bad and I would recommend you to come here. Our school is also very diverse and thats what makes it best.

I attend High Point at the moment, ill be graduation next June. My experience at the school has been amazing with hands on learning and the diversity is amazing. The teachers are excellent even though a few arent liked that much. The students are what make the school interesting because even though we are wild and have fun our academics come first and it shows in grades.

I went to high point for my freshman year. It was a huge change for me because I went to a private Catholic school my whole life before. I knew that because it was a public school, Id have to lower my standards and expectations of whatll happen. And I was right. Most of the teachers are mean, and unloving. Theres no sense of community if you dont know anyone, or are new. The building is relatively okay on the basis of getting used to it.The cafeteria food absolutely and undoubtedly was some of the worst Ive had. Not taste wise, but health wise. Despite all the healthy options, theres very greasy pizza, the spaghetti felt like it wasnt cooked all the way, and there was not enough seating for the hundreds of kids in there at a time. The curriculum taught is of the most basic if you take the basic classes. There are some teachers that look and feel like they hate to teach a class of immature, hyperactive morons. One of my teachers at high point, Mr. Bruce McKenzie, called it, Tough love without the love. And he was right in the highest degree.Go to high point if you must. But know that other options are available, such as Northwestern high, Laurel high, and other I may not know about.

If you dont go to High Point then you will not know how this school really is. As a student Ive realized that it is what you make of it. The students are great we are the reason that diversity is there we are the reason our school is very social, and yes if your are not social your obviously going to feel left out its common sense. The teachers are somewhat mean but that is only because they want the best for us. The teachers give their best when it comes to teaching , it is your job as a student to take the knowledge or not. Nobody will force you to learn, for those people who say this is a horrible school obviously only hear rumors and dont even attend. The rumors that we hear are halirious .. we will continue to be great students and change the reputation of the school . For those of you reading this review you must know that High Point is not that old dangerous crazy school you hear about .. we have goals, ambitions and spirit . Check out our sports teams, everyone decides to judge by the football team . But what about the rest of the sports ? Beating top schools , please before you judge make sure you attended or are a parent of a student who attends, teacher/staff. Thank you .

I proludly graduated from High Point high school 1958, entered in ninth grade when High Point first opened. Our students were mostly white and middle class.Times have changed and a picture of your graduating seniors next month will be more colorful and diverse than mine 58 years ago. One thing that has not changed is the painfully disproportionat share of our national treasure that has been wasted on US military support, payments of our tax dollars to big business, extension of American dominance worldwide (including military dominance of outerspace) Our atmosphere is chemically corrupted; our national spirit broken.

From what I have seen, the school is constructed badly. The administration is very rude and the students lack common sense.

As a Graduate of 2012, I had my name of my diploma spelled wrong, they lost my hours and their service is bad. Other than that, my exoerience was ok.

High Point High School has been on a downward cycle longer than I care to remember. The school is dirty and rundown due to lack of timely repairs and maintenance. The school has for years suffered with a poor administration and revolving door principles, that have led to an unruly student body. The solution, uniforms, that will solve the problem. A bad school, do not send your teen there.

Youve got some pretty racist teachers there...you might want to check their Facebook posts and comments...especially Ashley Giles who openly hates white people.
