Instructors are knowledgeable, facility is clean, and the staff is friendly. This is not a pay for a belt kind of place - it has to be earned. You definitely get your moneys worth in best quality instruction. Integrity and honor are upheld and taught.

We have been going there a couple of months now, my kids love it there. During the quarantine, kids were kept engaged, and the quality of the teaching didnt slip at all. The teachers here are great, even the office staff is amazing. They all know their stuff, and are so friendly and helpful. They know how to deal with kids really well, but even grownups have a great time there.

Karate Works has impacted our family in such a way that I don’t know if there will ever be a way to say thank you enough. We love Karate Works! My son Beau has been a student for 2 years. The instructors there are PHENOMENAL!! They teach “Stranger Danger,” as well as Integrity, Self Control, Perseverance, Modesty and Indomitable Spirit. They work with the students to improve strength; build confidence and character! At the end of class they do different challenges, which everyone enjoys. This is very much a welcoming, family friendly environment. Extra curricular activities include Splash Day, Roller Skating Parties, Super Hero week and Parents Night Out, just to name a few.

My son started at Karate Works in the spring and we couldnt be more pleased. While the instructors hold their students to high standards, they do so with kindness and lots of fun. A wonderful way to improve the whole person - body, mind and spirit. I highly recommend Karate Works!

Wow! What can I say about this place? If you are a homeschooler and looking for homeschool karate classes for your kids to not only be engaged but also find new friends, then Karate Works is the place for you. Their classes have lots of kids, but not too many that your kids feel lost in the crowd. The instructors are amazing. They give them a great mix of discipline and encouragement. All of my kids have flourished here, and it is like a second home.

Karate Works is where it’s at!! My son has been attending Karate Works for four years now. Started out in the Little Dragons class and continues to move up towards his goal of one day becoming a black belt. After attending a friends birthday party last year, we decided to give it a try this summer. Everyone has been so welcoming and accommodating. I have truly seen a transformation in my son. He has become more confident in his physical skills and excited about extracurricular activities. The atmosphere is one of family and we just felt at home from day one. Awesome instruction from extremely qualified instructors who are 100% on your side. The instructors are down to earth, humble, hard working and genuinely interested in each students progress regardless of the students ability or athleticism, or lack of it. An ideal environment for those who need martial arts training the most - children, women, and guys who want to be able to neutralize larger, aggressive opponents. But if you are athletic and strong, the instructors are more than capable of developing your natural assets to their max. As a student at Karate Works, and a black belt, I really admire my instructors individualized and courteous approach to each student.

Karate Works teaches kids perseverance and courtesy as well as establish excellent karate skills. All instructors build relationships with the kids and adults. Ive seen Mike Gunnlauggson, the owner, work with kids at an elementary school for years and always wanted my child to learn from him. They focus on the entire child, manners as well as skills. My son loves it and through his lessons he has become more aware of his actions within his daily life and can protect himself if needed. Ive enjoyed all the instructors and so glad to be a part of this big karate family.

My kids LOVE going to class. If it were up to them, they would be there from open to close. In the 6 months we have been there my kids coordination, stamina, and confidence have greatly improved. They are not only being taught TKD, but how to be good citizens. It is nice to have other than just at home. The kids are rewarded for good grades, showing character, taking responsibility for household chores, etc. This is a great program and I am so glad my friends kept telling me about Karate Works.

Karate Works is great for Character Development for any age! My husband and kids both go here and they love it! They have worked wonders with my sons focus and behavior.

We became interested in Karate Works after attending a party and now have all 3 of our children enrolled in classes. We appreciate their emphasis on good character traits, mental focus and physical activity. We consider the stranger danger training very valuable for our children as well.

We love how welcoming this school is and the variety of skills even the littlest student learn.

Not only a great experience for my son who has been enrolled for over a year now, but for the whole family as Mr. Gunnlaugsson introduced us to archery as a family hobby. The patience and one on one support of the instructors, along with the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone involved (including the other students and their families) makes it easy to recommend Karate Works.

Unbelievable Karate place, the instructors are patient and are serious with the kids, and then they also let them do a challenges to settle their minds at the end of each class. Mr Mike teaches these kids not only Karate, but life lessons, Integrity, Politeness, and the young ones, stranger danger, and what to do if you get lost.**As for the below Negative post, the person he is speaking of was me, and he wasnt initially asked to leave Karate Works, he was asked to take a break for a few weeks after threatening to punch me as soon as he saw me. I didnt want their to be an issue at Karate Works. Mike was very fair when handling this delicate situation, I am just sorry I brought this negativity to his Gym. I hope you dont judge Karate Works by one negative post by someone who didnt get their way. They really are good people there!

Fantastic martial arts school that teaches my children self defense with a reinforcement on character and integrity. The instructors take time to ensure that the students are mastering the techniques.

I am a 40+ year old daddy of two wonderful yellow belts. my wife, kids and i all attend class together at Karate Works. I can only encourage all to join us. i have been made to look silly and beloved every time i show up. the folks in our class are terrific. no ageism here. the 7 year olds who out rank me are a joy to train with. please come and take advantage of a free intro or two. you will not be disappointed. the instruction is top notch. i have taken private lessons and had the entire session tailored to my personal limitations. encouraged to perform at my best but never discouraged. the tenants are not just taught they are encouraged and exemplified. bring your kids, join in if you can, but rejoice in the positive family spirit provided by a group of folks who care about who you are and want to see you grow in integrity, self control and an indomitable spirit.by the way i had my 4* birthday party here and it was wonderful. my son was so fired up he had his birthday party there the next month. we had so many people show up for the second party who witnessed the first party we over flowed the room. still had enough cup cakes for all. thanks Saubumnim! support staff are wonderful. feel and be safe with people who want you to become a great martial artist but a better person. my thanks and appreciation to the entire Karate Works team. The kids love this place. The leaders are solid and have a plan. They have created a fire in the kids that they did not have. I cant say enough good about them, and how they conduct themselves and the classes.

We looked long and hard for a place that would teach our kids martial arts without teaching them to be a bully. This place is it. They have a Christian environment with a focus on your childs school behavior and grades as well. And while they have a focus on TKD, there is also some judo aspects and a large amount of BJJ worked in at the upper ranks. You wont find a better all around school.

This is a place where u can not only learn takewondo and jujitsu but also make friends in this wonderful family environment

I love the way they teach your children not only the art of karate but other qualities that help them be a better student and a better person! I would recommend Karate Works to anyone that wanted a great influence on their children.

My son has been attending Karate Works for 6 years now. We have had nothing but wonderful experiences here. The self-defense lessons arent the most valuable thing here though. No, its the life lessons and emphasis on being a good citizen, being honest, and doing whats right that makes this place shine. Children are rewarded for good behaviors and good grades. Mike Gunnlaugsson (AKA Sabumnim) is wonderful with the children. Quite frankly I think he has the patience of Job! I highly recommend Karate Works should your child be interested in learning martial arts. In fact, we have now enrolled our other two children and they are progressing well.

We tried other schools in the area, however they were sub-par. Karate Works staff and instructors are professional and care about the students. We will continue with there exceptional program for the foreseeable future.

My child has been attending Karate Works for over 2 years. I have trained in other studios and Karate Works is second to none. Sabumnim and his instructors make any age student feel welcome and valued. My kids and I are all students and have been progressing through the belt ranks together. The instructors are both enjoyable and encouraging. Sabumnim and his staff have a training curriculum that not only teaches self defense, but is designed to foster leadership traits and develop the character, morals and values of his students. Your child will reflect Sabumnims mentoring and training through improved behavior at home and in school. The instructors make it obvious that they enjoy teaching the Little Dragons how to protect themselves from strangers and bullies as much as they do training the more advanced belts. Do not let the name Karate Works fool you, this studio trains their students with techniques from several martial arts disciplines that are physically challenging and will take your self defense capabilities to the next level. Karate Works is a family oriented atmosphere that combines teaching Martial Arts with real life lessons of integrity, modesty and self control. It is apparent my two kids 8 and 10 have brought these lessons into their daily lives outside of the dojo. I am proud of what theyve learned at Karate Works and I am grateful to Mike and Colton for their dedication and true interest in our personal lives.My son is special needs and struggles with balance and fine motor skills. Mike and Colton embraced these challenges and Ive seen immense strides in his physical abilities, coordination and confidence in himself.
