Went with 2 other friends. I had a girl who had just completed her training. The manicure I got was sloppy, and very little massage and so light I could hardly feel it. They had very little colors and the girl said the other students steal all the ones they get in. We then got pedicures, not the nice chairs you sit in for a real salon, just a plain chair and a bowl of water for your feet. Again a poor massage and they did not have the right colors for a french pedicure, mine turned out awful. A teacher checked my two friends but did not check mine. Again the worst and shortest leg massage ever. I didnt complain because my friend was paying for everything but 3 days later I have removed the nail polish on my hands, my husband even said it was awful and my toes do not look good. Whatever she used is streaky and chipping off already. Usually a french pedicure lasts a month for me. It has only been 3 days! So not worth it!

I called Monday to see if they had any availability this week. They got me in the next day. As a student myself it was nice to save money but I really valued being a part of the educational experience. My hairdresser asked questions when she needed to and it reassured me she was doing a great job. It looks phenomenal and I feel great. I can’t recommend a haircut here to enough people!

This place is one of the most unprofessional salons I have ever been to. As a former student, I can not begin to tell you how awfully ran this school is. Nearly half of the educators didn’t even know who I was. I was called a mediocre hairstylist, told I didn’t know how to cut hair, also told I made multiple bad decisions by doing what the client wanted. It’s a very toxic place for a student to go. There are some teachers who do care and show they care and are willing to help. However it’s unacceptable behavior for any student to have to deal with any sort of negativity like that. On top of that our schedules as student change every 5 seconds as they can’t get there stuff figured out. You are expected to just do what they tell you to, without even consulting you first. For doing free labor, you think they might treat you a little more fair and humanely. As a student I say this place is okay to learn nails and esthetics from, but don’t go here to study hair. I was not prepared as a stylist when I graduated. I learned more from YouTube that I ever did this place.

My stylist listened to me and did exactly what I wanted! Have been to other salons and leave in tears.

If I could leave a Zero review I would.Phagans instructor at the Bend location Denise was extremely rude and unworkable. I am pregnant and I informed the team there that I have to eat every two hours with my medication prior to my appointment. The receptionist says this is totally ok well just work with you and when youre hair is processing you can eat outside. This is something Ive always done as Id normally get food from the food court right next to phagans. When I first arrive instructor Denise gives me a hard time about the fact that Ive brought a water bottle. I am told by the student hair stylist that her instructor is not going to let me keep the water. I explain that I am pregnant and that she can come and talk to me about it if shed like. She does come over ends up saying that I can keep the water bottle but that I cant keep the coffee. I say sure, I understand and throw the coffee away.So my hair stylist has been doing my hair for a few hours and its time for my 20 minute processing time. The hair stylist says just be sure to be back within 20 minutes and I say ok! So as Im heading out the manager starts telling me to be back soon so that my hair will stay warm. I explain that I just need to run to Safeway grab some chicken and Ill be right back. She says oh you cant leave the premises! and I said, well, theyve always let me while my hair is processing and I explain that I have to get food to eat with my medication. She says thats your problem. So I dont have any food in the car, I have to eat to take my meds at the right time, so I go 30 feet from the parking lot and have the food truck bring me out a sandwich. I stay in the car most of the time to keep my hair warm as she asked and Im back within 12 minutes since she seems worried. Immediately upon arrival once Im sitting in the chair instructor Denise towers over me demanding where I went. I basically tell her its none of her business and that Im back within the required time. She was so upset that she was very rude and told me that shes not going to allow the hair stylist to finish my hair so she made her wash it all out and she sent me in my way telling me to never come back.I have never been treated so poorly as an adult in my life! I have never had a business hold me as if on house arrest! She knew of my situation, she knew that I have been allowed to get food before, she knew that I didnt have any food because I clearly wasnt expecting this to be an issue suddenly, she refused to help me solve the problem within the 20 minute time frame, she clearly took pleasure in telling me off, left me with unfinished hair and then banned me from coming back all because I have to eat and drink water for my meds and I drove 30 feet to get a sandwich.If this is how Phagans role models customer service to its students then I must say that this institution is seriously lacking in its humanity and integrity. It seems that power plays are more important than compromise and helping people. I unfortunately cannot support an organization who treats people in such a dehumanizing way. I encourage the leaders of this organization to correct the implication of this situation which teaches students and staff to be inflexible cogs that put protocol above humanity which Id argue goes against the whole purpose of working in customer service.

Reasonably priced, great staff. Very polite and considerate. And more importantly, event though I had a hard time explaining the kind of cut and color I wanted, they were patient and spent the time to make sure it was done right. (Even when it involved changing the haircut halfway through). Couldnt have left more pleased, especially as someone who doesnt like going in to get their haircut. They made it simple and easy.

Ive been getting my (short) hair cut @ Phagans for several years now & once in a while, you find a really talented stylist. I recently found one!! Maegen M. is absolutely wonderful in that she listens to me and then DOES what I ask for!! Sounds simple, but this has rarely been my experience here. Students are taught to cut hair in basic steps and are not always ready to listen and try variations on what theyve been taught. Unfortunately these students graduate and go to salons where they have to charge SOOOOOO much money for a simple short hair cut (no color, just a trim)! However, I may have to follow Maegen...shes a gem!!

Went in today for cut and color, met Logan. He was so nice so professional and did an amazing job. He is scheduled off at 330 my hair was not done and we were there later. He was great I highly recommend him. My hair looks grear, I love it.

I have gone here many times and had no problems what so ever. Today, I tried making an appointment for my friend to get her haircut. I called and was on hold for a few minutes but they hanged up on me so I called again and immediately they hanged up, again I called and the same thing!!😠 So I called one more time and was on hold for 20 minutes still no one answered so I hanged up. I was pretty happy with this place until today, valued customer huh? Whyd yall hang up on me three times!?

Made an appointment to get a pedicure with Cheyenne about a week in advance. Took time off work since the school is only open til 5 and during the week. Showed up for my appointment on time on the correct day to find out she wasn’t even there and their whole attitude was oh well too bad so sad. Never got an apology from the receptionist and never heard back from Cheyenne after I texted her telling her I was there for my appointment. Wasted time off work. Completely unprofessional and will never come here again!

I heard them from friends, kind of nervous when I walked in, but she did great job cut my hair, super patient, and understood what I want. She spent extra half hour after they close, did not rush at all. The haircut turned out great. So happy with the whole experience : ) For sure will go back and recommend to my friends.

I just finished Phagans with the Nail Technology program. I loved Ms.Tracy as our instructor. She made it fun everyday. I got the training needed to go and find a job and passed the state boards with no problem!

I got my hair done at the school multiple times and my recent services were a facial and I got highlights in my hair. I the service was great and I had so much fun with the two students that did my services, they were super helpful and just seemed happy. I have already invited a friend to come along with me next time.

Had my hair cut with Jesse and she was super fun and took her time to create perfection! Then helped me set up a spontaneous brow appointment with Macy which was super helpful. My brows came out amazing, she really made sure to follow through with my requests. Thank you all!

I’m a graduate of Phagans and it was my diving board to a fabulous career. Interestingly, as I read people’s reviews, I wonder if they forget that it’s a school. They have teachers there that are teaching because they love it. Services will take a bit longer than going to a salon as they’re being done by students who are learning....and the teachers double check the student’s work. It’s a great value for your money and you’re helping the students get experience.

I have been going to Phagans for a couple years. You cant beat the price and the students do a really nice job. I want to give a shout out to a student named Anthony who did an amazing job on my hair this month. He listened to my picky wishes for my haircut and did exactly what I had asked. He was friendly, personable and really cared about what he was doing. Thank you Phagans and thank you Anthony! I love my new cut!

I am a graduate from this school and it was the best experience Ive ever had! The teachers are all super knowledgeable and there to help you every step of the way. The admissions staff are amazing and go above and beyond to keep you on track to help you graduate. I have made so many amazing friends from attending Phagans and the school also has created many networking opportunities for me for years to come... If you are looking to get into the cosmetology industry this is the place to go!

I have tried several services from the student salon. I’ve had some good hair cut experiences but mostly bad. I’ve had nails services that should not have passed inspection. The students are always overbooked/double booked. They have to rush to get through appointments on time. Even with an appointment, expect to sit in the waiting room close to 45 minutes. Ive had instructors get defensive about taking constructive feedback. The beauty school is constantly cutting budget, won’t even pay for cheap nail dry spray. Students are expected to share one set of nail supplies (acetone, top coat) for all clients. Learned my lesson, I’ll just pay full price somewhere else for better, faster, friendlier care.

Went today and got the most in depth, deluxe facial! My aesthetician was Kelli Cima, she did an amazing job. The school was run well, organized, and I fully enjoyed my experience. I will definitely book with Kelli Cima again. Kelli was professional and well trained, the price is a fraction of what you would pay in a salon. It felt amazing!

Got three haircuts there. Asked for the same thing each time. First cut just buzzed my head. The second did a really good job that I tipped her just as much as the haircut cost (6 dollars). And the last one got closer to what I wanted but there were a lot of weird lines and it was still kinda too long so I had to go get another haircut the next day. I often have a hard time speaking up when I don’t like something so the length was my mistake, but there were strange lines where they switched clippers so it still wasn’t the best. Really a hit or miss. You have to really know how to explain what you want, be tough enough when something doesn’t look right, and be a little lucky.

There are very talented stylists that come through this salon. However, do not rely on making appointments as they will cancel without notifying you. Theyve put me in this position twice: the first, I called to confirm the morning of (after I took off work for the appointment) and was told the stylist was gone and I had to reschedule. When I called to confirm the rescheduled appointment, I was told it was cancelled again without notification. Yes - this place is a school but they do not hold respect for paying customers.

My best friend and I went to go get our nails done yesterday and the two young ladies who helped us were INCREDIBLE! Im not sure of my friends technitions name unfortunately, but the young lady who did my nails was named Haley H., And she was funny, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions! We will definitely be going back!

I was enrolled in the Barbering Program, I spent almost 15,000 dollars on what was supposed to be an education but quickly found out that that is not the owners focus. We learned the basics of cutting hair and when we did have classes all the instructors did was read off of a projector screen, with the exception of a couple instructors who actually cared,They would give us two week classes in 2 days or two hours! Their was very little preparation done to actually get us ready for our state Board Exam! I learned more on you tube than I did from the school !When anyone had questions on how to do a fade the instructors would grab some of us Barbers to help because they could not do ! The only thing the owners care about is getting you on the floor to make them money, not much care is given about an actual education!! Very disappointing after spending so much money...

Waited over 40 minutes even with a scheduled appointment. Checked in at the reservations twice to remind them of my presence there. While watching others walk in and be seen moments after they arrived. I told the front desk I cant wait any longer and walked out. Wont be going back.I received a call from Phagans apologizing for the apparent mix up. They offered a discount for services and invited me back. Giving them a grace moment, I did return and scheduled a haircut and also added a color. I originally requested a lighter shade of blonde for color The cut turned out well and a color turned into strawberry highlights instead ( not much different from my original color.) The end result wasnt what I was expecting but still turned out well. Updated the review to four stars.

DONT LISTEN TO THE REVIEWERS WHO COMPLAIN! I think the staff was friendly and professional and for $5 on Tuesdays I have no complaints. In fact the last time I went my hair stylist took over and hour on my hair and the supervisor checks everything. Ive been going there for 5 years. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Ive been having my hair cut at Phagans of CO for about 6 years. A good friend recommended it and the price is right! I find I get good to excellent cuts virtually every time I go in. I take care to explain in detail what I want, with specific direction about my hair type (thick but very fine) as well as things like where it tends to go limp, where it needs to be thinned, cowlick issues, etc. These are students and all have been very open and attentive to my input. At the end of the cut an instructor comes to check my cut, fixes any flaws, and/or directs student how to finish it out. The student ends up proud of the cut and gets kudos from the instructor and I think benefits from the detailed explanations of what I want.

I started as a Barber student at the Bend Phagans’ in 2000. I have made a successful career in the industry and I got a great foundation from the school. I was able to complete my program and successfully get my state license on my first try, with no issues all; thanks to the education I received from Phagans’. I grew my career and have been able to become a mentor and educator in the industry. I have been welcomed back to Phagans’ for guest speaker classes on multiple occasions and, in my opinion, the school is definitely going above and beyond for their students, making sure they have a well-rounded, solid education.

I got my nails done by Katia and she’s amazing!! In love with my nails!! Definitely 10/10 recommend.

Not a good first experience for my daughter. Not only was she in the chair for six hours,but her highlights ended up being a full bleach job in the back with a few streaks of color! Paid over a hundred dollars, and I couldve done a better job at home!!!

Made a reservation for nothing.I kept the appointment. After waiting for more than 20 min, their suggestion was would make another appointment?I dint hear a word like sorry..what a bad experience.

Bend Phagans is the best beauty school. I had the best time here. The staff is so helpful for the students. If your looking to go to beauty school Phagans would be the place to go.

I first discovered Phagens when my twin daughters were asked to be haircut models for a student. She did such a great job that when I found out they also cut mens hair, I went and got my hair cut there. I have been going there ever since and it has been nearly 20 yrs. I have never had a bad hair cut and the staff are always fun and friendly.

Shay and one of her classmates did a facial wax for me. It took a little longer than expected but they were very meticulous. Wanted to make sure they got every little hair which is what I wanted so it was as I expected. I would return.

I went in Jan 30th , and got a perm.. Jessi did my hair. She was so sweet, and answered all of my silly questions. I love my hair !! She did a great job. I will be back to see Jessi !!

Phagans ripped me off, I wanted my hair colored and bleached so I could get a blonde look as a birthday gift. After one of the students did my hair it took 4 hours and the result was not blonde at all , it was the same color so I came back a week later because they told me itd be done for free within a week if Im not satisfied, once I came back they told me i would have to pay and I told them I already did. Who knew itd take three days to get your hair done? And I still dont have the hair I wanted because I didnt want to pay again. I highly suggest to never go to phagans theyre horrible and unprofessional and theyre only going to rip you off!

I love Phagans . I get great color, cuts, manicures, pedicures and facials.

The students and staff were very unprofessional. They bickered in front of clients, leaned all over stuff, didnt know what was going on, played on their phones, whined about how tired they were and when it was time for me to pay the lady didnt even acknowledge my presence until she was ready. Then they tried to make me spend 24 dollars to have her soak my feet and push my cuticles back. They didnt even ask me what pedicure I was in for. Will not be going back to this beauty school again. Very poor customer service.
