I am so happy to have my 6th grader attending Cascade Middle School. We could have sent him to the new school on the West Side but my son insisted on going to Cascade. We are so pleased with the staff and my son is thrilled to be surrounded by such a great team of educators.This is our third child to attend Cascade, the two previously attended over 20 years ago and much has change over the past 20 years. The faculty does an incredible job and the counseling staff is tremendous. I hear nothing but great feedback from all of the other parents.Thank you Cascade you play such an important roll in our childrens future. I have one more student coming your way in two years,, please keep up the excellent work.

I have three children. I have owned a preschool and worked with school aged children for over 18 years. I’ve had educational experiences at several different schools. Cascade Middle School is every parents worst educational nightmare.The first week my daughter was there, she joined cross-country. On the third day she ran, she hurt her ankle and needed to walk. The coach who was the sweeper (the last runner tracking and rounding up the slowest kids) assumed she was faking and left her off campus to run herself back even after she said she didnt know how to get there. My daughter was picked up on the side of the road by a strange man who fortunately for us, took her back to school. Instead of reprimanding the teacher, the vice principal actually had the nerve to ask me if I thought my daughter was lying about her ankle and then asked me how many times she had ran that same rout, to which I retorted, “How many times is enough for it to be ok for your teacher to leave her alone on the side of the road after my daughter makes it clear she doesn’t feel comfortable heading back to school on her own?”As the year went on my daughter, who is half Chinese, experienced severe bullying at school that crossed over into the world of social media. I found out about it when checking her Instagram account. Children were telling her to kill herself and teasing her about her ethnicity. I found out later, the school counselor knew about it and never told me. My daughter ended up in the hospital because of suicide threats. When I confronted the school, the counselor said he didnt want to violate my daughters rights by telling me (By law he had to tell me). The principal said that if bullying didnt happen on campus and wasnt caught by the school, it wasnt their problem. I told the VP it was happening on campus, which was communicated through social networking messages. He dismissed me. I found out later that she wasnt only experiencing verbal bullying, but she had been attacked by several boys at once at her locker leaving her ribs severely bruised.After I pulled my daughter from the school I later found out that at the end of the year all of the year books that were published had to be pulled because the staff hadnt been monitoring the children who inserted racist slurs before they were sent to press. The comments were abusive and meant to bully other children. They all had to be pulled after print costing the school thousands of dollars.This school is under incompetent administration. Racism and bullying are rampant. The children that attend that school are at risk of either being bullied or becoming bullies. Since pulling my child from Cascade Middle School she has become a different child. She is a star student pulling all As. She has a wonderful group of friends made up of children who are inclusive and accepting. I do not recommend this school for any family.

Lovely fun place in general, the arcade is the best!

From what i have heard this school is on the down low of everything possible the teachers dont seem to have experience in teaching nor do they have the encouragement to do anything, according to sources this schools needs to fix its stuff until it eventually goes in dept
