My daughter has been a student at VKTD since she was four. Now she’s nine, and the work ethic and confidence that VTKD has fostered spills over to all other aspects of her life.Enrolling her here will forever be one of the parenting decisions I’m most proud of myself for making.

This institution was recommended by a good friend of ours and it turned out to be an amazing place for our son to learn Taekwondo. The owners are truly amazing and all of the teachers and students are always ready and willing to help. We are looking forward to many more years to come.

August 24 at 8:35 PMWe were introduced to Vallejos Tae Kwon Do March of 2018 our granddaughters were struggling with a major change in their life. We needed a village to help raise these girls. As we continued to take the girls to class we saw that this was not just a school for martial arts but it is a family setting. Kwan Ja Knim has encouraged the girls in building their confidence as well as teaching them discipline, respect, and honor. Through him they have learned to focus on all of their activities, and to work hard at everything they do, with that we are so grateful for the days inside the class and on zoom. I can not for get to give Mrs. Debbie her credit. She is the Mother of the entire school and treats all of the children as if they are her children and she makes sure that they are doing exactly what they are told to do. Tae Kwon Do is much more than the art. Mrs Debbie is the behind the scenes teacher, she has taught them that time management and the importance of being on time to class. My granddaughter get so excited when they have attended class for the entire month and receive their perfect attendance patch. I swear those patches are actual trophies to them along with the awards of accomplishments/good grands etc. Most of all She teaches the students how to have respect once their feet touch those mats/zoom. I am so grateful to have Vallejos Tae Kwon Do as a big part of our village in raising these girls. Thank you and we love you.

This Tae Kwon Do School is more than just a school, it is Family. The accountability and Responsibility taught here is Outsanding! My children who are students here started less than 3 months ago and I can already see the change in them in a positive way. I write this review giving my utmost recommendation of Vallejos Tae KwonDo Academy. Our spirited son is typically uninterested and disengaged from his zoom classes, despite the various tricks that his teachers pull out their hats, but VallejosTae Kwan Do Academy has brought a level of focus that we have never seen in him before. With the guidance and encouragement of Master Vallejos, our son has been extremely motivated to be the best he can be. Master Vallejos has a way of balancing constructive criticism with positive reinforcement in a way that encourages our son, while showing him the complex forms and techniques, all while doing so virtually (400 miles away). Our son often comments how much fun he is having during their zoom classes. After earning his first stripe as a white belt, he shared that it was the best day of his life! Mrs. Vallejos is also very communicative with the multiple apps and emails used to connect with parents, as well as enthusiastic about her students progressing in martial arts. Our son’s dad could not be more excited for our son’s participation in vallejos TKD, as he himself was a previous student and earned his black belt 2 decades ago from the same school. The academy has and will continue to be family! Enrolling in Vallejos TKD is the best decision we could make for our son and we are confident that this investment will instill a life-long discipline that no other school could offer our child.

I have been a part of the VTKD family since 1995 and earned my black belt with them over 20 years ago. All I can say is after moving multiple times to differemt states in the last 10 years(Navy wife) GOOD LUCK finding a better martial arts family to join! I say family because Kwon Ja Nim and Debbie Vallejos are so much more than business owners and martial arts instructors. I could write a book on the number of times and the different ways they have helped my family as we were growing up. As parents, you can trust that they will be an extension of nurturing support as they help your children grow into responsible, respectful and confident individuals. I looked into a lot of different schools every time we moved and they just didnt hit the mark. There was a clear emphasis in a lot of places we have lived that they were in a business to make money and pushing kids to advance before they were ready made no difference. You will NOT find this at VTKD. Their prices are more than fair when compared to competitors and the biggest value of all is your kids will not just be gaining martial arts skills, but they will also be learning from two of the most real and honest people you will ever meet. I am so happy that even during these crazy times my own children have now been able to virtually participate and learn from Master Vallejos despite living very far away. As resilient as my kids have been with our ever changing life, I can see a big change in their attitudes and eagerness to learn over the last 2 months and I know it is because they have already gained that much more confidence since starting. I promise you will not be sorry by joining this great karate family!

My best friend got her black belt from Vallejos Tae Kwon Do years ago, and urged me to get my children into it. After looking into many types of martial arts and several schools, I decided to have my kids try it out. My 2 oldest started together, they are now 10 & 9, and just recently my 4 year old started. This school has taught far more than self defense, they have learned lessons far more valuable in their everyday lives than their regular school has ever taught them, they’ve learned respect, they’ve grown self-confidence, they’ve learned how to say “no” and to stand up for themselves. These lessons will follow them throughout their lives. I’m grateful for everything they’ve learned, and happy to call Vallejos Tae Kwon Do “home” and “family”

One of the main reasons we put our son in TKD was to help boost his self-confidence. He was only 4 years old when he first started, and was a very shy, timid boy and he just needed a little push to come out of his shell. After just a few months of TKD, his self-esteem began to grow and he looked like a natural on the mats. Watching and looking at our son now (who is now 7), youd never think he was that shy, little boy. He is very determined to continue TKD and has goals to get his black belt.One memory that sticks to me the most was when our son was 5 years old and he refused to belt test because he was so nervous and was afraid he was going to make mistakes. Not only did the instructors speak with him and reassured him that everything will be ok, even if he made mistakes, but the students and parents also cheered him on and rooted for him. Our son eventually tested, and his self-confidence was through the roof, all with the help of our Vallejos TKD family. It really is true when they say It takes a village.Another reason why we love Vallejos TKD is because they also acknowledge the kids accomplishments outside of TKD class, whether it be having a good report card at school or doing chores at home.Thank you Vallejos TKD family for your love and support always

When our son Gabriel had his meet and greet, he was super shy. Even on the first day of class, he was still shy. After two short weeks, our boy came out of his shyness shell and now is soooo outgoing. Not only that but his confidence level has boosted. His listening skills have definitely improved. He focuses a lot better these days. I can confidently say that all of these positive changes are all because of his attending Vallejos Tae Kwon Do. Kwan Ja Nim and Ms. Debbie treat the kids as if the kids are their own. Thats what I love about this school. They are more than a martial arts school; they are our extended family. My son has been going for 2 years and now my other 2 children have joined too and LOVE IT!! VTKD has taught my children responsibility, self respect, and discipline. Debbie and KJN also teaches the children life lessons that goes on in the outside world. What I LOVE about VTKD is that all the childrens education comes first and that everything is earned with hard work. I highly recommend Vallejos Tae Kwon Do to anyone and everyone of all ages. What started out as a great way to learn self defense, quickly turned into so much more. Vallejos Tae Kwon Do has taught my daughter so many things: respect, discipline, self-respect and courtesy. She has grown to be an independent, strong young woman that could only have come with the help of Maam and Kwan Ja Nim.
