Taking flute lessons with Debbie Sheers is a great investment. She is a very skilled teacher. She is thorough in her explanation of topics and consistently challenges her students to become better musicians. I took lessons with her for years. The education I received from her enabled me to be able to teach music lessons as my primary job. Just as important as being a good teacher, she is also a very pleasant person to be around. You cant go wrong with lessons from her!

Several of us in the first flute section used to jockey for 2nd chair but none of us disputed Debbies position as 1st chair! But besides her superb musicianship she is that amazing combination of gentleness and discipline that make for an ideal teacher. I only wish I had a child or grandchild who wanted to learn to play the flute, so I could send him or her to Debbie!

Debbie Sheers is a wonderful piano and flute teacher. Our daughter, Rachel has grown so much as a musician over the past two and a half years, thanks to Debbie’s wise and kind teaching. Rachel loves her lessons! Debbie has a gift for capturing Rachel’s attention and making learning music theory fun through the games they play during lessons, including Rachel’s favorite “Flash Cards with Ripley.” At the same time, Debbie gently challenges our daughter to stretch herself to keep growing and learning new skills. We love hearing Rachel sneak off to practice a favorite piece over and over because she just loves how it sounds or how it feels to play it. She takes great pride in playing the newest pieces she has learned for friends and family who come to visit. It’s also really neat to see Rachel applying what she has learned from Debbie in piano and flute lessons to how she plays her ukulele for school and practices her singing for church. If you are looking for a great flute teacher, we highly recommend Debbie!
