This was billed as a science based outdoor school program. While I liked the way the kids were outdoors, there didn’t seem to be much actual science curriculum taught. And I found it weird that the kids had to learn and recite a “Plant Oath” (something about asking a plant’s permission before touching it) that frankly is pretty unscientific. All in all it seemed really touchy-feely but not imparting much actual science or fact based learning.
Trackers has some of the most mature, down-to-earth teachers Ive met in the Bay Area. The person complaining about a lack of communication re Covid19 apparently couldnt be patient for Trackers to assess the emergent situation (she wrote 4 days ago) and/or didnt check her emails. Trackers sent out a very detailed email about 4 days ago, including specific safety measures due to Covid19, and a change of venue and time to accommodate safety while still providing camp. I am very grateful to Trackers for being willing to provide camp this summer! Thank you.
This is a great place for kids to spend time: imaginative activities and themes for each week kept my nine year old excited to go back each day.
I work here and it has been a fun summer.
