Nice, smaller college. Perfect for my daughter. Everyone has been super friendly, and has made my daughter feel welcome, in her freshman year of college.
My daughter will be a new freshman this fall and we just attended her orientation. The students who ran the orientation (yes students ran most of it) were great. They were all very positive friendly and helpful. The Arts and Sciences staff were also extremely helpful. She was able to get the classes she wanted. Also, she disagreed with one suggestion and they took the time to listen to her and ended up agreeing with her.
I love Ferris State University. It’s my favorite college. President Eisler is an amazing person. Paid for my shirts and my brothers. Signed a book and met with us about the scholarship named in honor of my beloved Papa.
Today I went to Ferris state eye clinic And I did not have an appointment they had an opening and they saw me right away took care of my issue and I am now home resting thank you for the wonderful care
It was a great place to get gonorrhea... twice, from the same girl. Classes were a bit over priced for the credentials that came with them. It did provide me with the skills to write snappy reviews on websites. The town encasing it has much to be desired, as well as its lovely (sarcasm intended) local denizens. They do have a bowling alley if thats your bag.
I received my B.S. and my M.B.A. from FSU and would recommend this University to anyone looking for a great education that boasts a tremendous employment percentage.

Helped my daughter move in for her 2nd year here. She absolutely loves Ferris. She really likes the Ferris faculty - especially one of the lunch ladies. Everyone is so nice.

I didnt go thousands of dollars in debt for blind censorship. Optometry, nursing, and Pharmacy; anything else and you would be better off in a school that doesnt tack on Technology to their degrees.
Its a college, you learn stuff there.

The campus is great but I docked a star for poor signage. Being on a motorcycle it was really hard to know where I was going without a lot of random slow downs.
It was great to see my old school I havent seen it since 1987
Its a beautiful campus in a nice quiet area away from all the noise of the big city. I attended my sisters graduation and I must say, it was one of the best well planned and thankfully not too long as most graduations tend to drag on but this was nice and sweet. the parking lot accommodates hundreds of cars, there is a woodsy vibe to it which makes it that much more relaxing.
I absolutely love Ferris. I am a first generation college graduate. I am currently a graduate student at Ferris. I couldnt be happy about the choice of college I went with.

Ferris State is a great institution to be apart of. The experience lies in the desired destiny of whomever attends. The staff are wonderful people who are eager in their students success. Being a Bulldog has been like a family home away from home. Everyone knows one another and its a friendly environment. Overall, i find my experience here very enjoyable and would reccomend others to become a Bulldog.
The cost of tuition is a bit much, but at least its cheaper than other places. Also has multiple Game Design degree programs.

If you come from a small town and know how to appreciate a smaller town you would love this school. Close knit community, great professors, descent food, and a lot to do on campus (or off campus on the weekends). I always feel safe and welcomed in this town.
To be short, dont waste your time or money on this diploma mill. The professors care more about their next paycheck than their students. Virtually no assistance for anyone headed into a graduate program, likely because your odds of getting into one from this school are almost nil. Do not expect help from the Alumni Association, they exist almost purely to collect money from you. A bachelors degree with high marks from here will not qualify you for any better job/career than you already have if youre lucky; in my case it instantly earned me an “overqualified” mark and haven’t been able to find steady employment since. This “university” essentially exists for the type of students who want to drink away their collage days; they have no capacity or interest in improving the lives or careers of anyone but their administrative staff.
Ferris was a great experience for me. Its not a big university. However, I have never had any issue competing with folks from major universities from all over the country with my Ferris education. I have a pharmacy executive management career and have never felt that I had less than a very competitive educational experience!

Ferris itself is a beautiful campus but unfortunately most of the students are unhelpful, parking is atrocious, and most of the meters do not work, resulting in parking fines.

Wouldnt recommend coming here for science majors (unless youre going for optometry or pharmacy), but Ive had nothing but good experiences in the College of Business and the arts part of the College of Arts and Science. The parking usually sucks, but the foods great! And most of the people are very friendly!
HORRIBLE SCHOOL FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS OR COMMUTERS:This is not an ideal school for a transfer student of Junior standings or higher, because you have to wait until Freshman orientation to enroll in classes. This right here put me a year back on my expected Graduation date because I couldnt get the classes I needed. The classes for their CIS program arent set up conveniently either. They set there courses up to provide for the traditional on-campus, straight out of high school students. Example: ISYS 216 and ISYS 272 are compliment classes that can only be taken in the spring. They offer ISYS 216 on TUE/THUR 9: 30-10:45 and ISYS 272 on TUE/THUR 4:30-5:45, this is ideal if you like unnecessary 8 hour days on campus.More BAD:Some instructors/professors know that theyll never lose their job and theyll let you know it. In one of my classes the instructor told us, If you plan on dropping this course; dont, Im the only one who teaches it, so youll see me again the next time you take it. Another instructor demanded that I drove 1 hour in a snow storm for a exam because it was required and he doesnt allow make-up exams; yes I got a 0% on that exam.This is the worse school I have ever went to and this is my 5th school Ive attended. If youre lucky like me, you can transfer to a new school when you get fed up, if not your stuck or you fail.Good Luck!
Be very careful about going to Ferris University, they take your $$$..quickly and forget you exist..you dont get your deposit back either..

Has a great campus and amazing hockey rink I love going to camps and other events there. The atmosphere is great everybody is happy and if people possibly arent having the greatest day people always make them feel warm inside

Mediocre classes, and far worst than not. Most of the classes offered by FSU was already offered at my community college and even they have better professors. Professors are not helpful when it comes to learning, and even the capstone classes were vague and confusing. Be careful with parking, its always crowded on the main campus unless you get there after 5 pm. Only attended the main campus due to capstone project that requires meeting with other members for a computer project. Otherwise, I was mostly off-campus. You get helpful advice from your peers than the professors.
Great student to staff ratio. Campus is safe and very walkable. Off campus housing is also in close proximity to classes. Lots of natural beauty in Mecosta County with Rails to Trails, Muskegon River and 2 tracks on State and Federal Land north of town.

Perfect school for auto industry degree(s). Professors are personable, classes small & social, campus is clean & not too big or too small.
I went for a college visit and was disappointed when I didnt get to see a classroom. Im there to learn, not to party. After the whole visit, I was like: Okay, not bad. Unfortunately, I became highly upset after that. I came home from vacation one day and something smelled foul... I looked around, and it came from the bag I got from Ferris State! Inside were dead bugs... In the end, FERRIS STATE WELCOMES U TO THEIR SCHOOL... BY GIVING U A BUG HIVE.
I truly desired to write creative inspirations about the wealth of knowledge and wisdom I would receive from this institution of higher learning. Unfortunately, what I experienced is a mill of higher education producing students as if a factory building cars on a production line. This review is the overall perspective of two areas in which I perused, education and business.First and foremost is the positive people I had the pleasure of dealing with at this institution (pun intended) who were few, Thank you for your absolute professionalism in my endeavors. You get 5 stars, and too bad, because you are worth more then this University has to offer and I hope they value you more than the experience I had.Second, the reason I do not attend this University anymore. I should have been more committed to understanding the new way of learning as an adult learner. I did not receive direction from many in the ways of navigating the student portal. Also the consistency of instruction was weak at best. The expectations were nothing short of hypocritical and the direction was the finger point of an averaged paid employee at a grocery store telling someone what they were looking for was in the next isle. I asked a question in one of my classes to find a blank stare of confusion, another professor arriving late preaching timeliness and barking at students as if they were unintelligent prisoners of stupidity. The last reason is the suicide of one of the Veteran employee who, in story, received the pink slip of Get out, we do not care about you.I am a disabled veteran myself who dealt with people at risk of suicide. Managed ignorance and cared for the welfare of others in my career in my service to our country. While few cared in this place, more seemed to be collecting a paycheck as stated by one of my professors: I do not get paid to run the class, I get paid to just grade you on your work! With this kind of blind eye and ignorance I cannot be associated with a degree I would not be proud of attaining and receiving guidance from such ignorance.Lastly, I am sorry to offend the wonderful folks who have dedicated their life to educating students in the rigors of life. I commend you for your service to take on a task in an environment such as this. To fight the self-entitled good ol boy system and have hope in reaching some students. Some of you have inspired me and gave me a renewed sense of hope in my direction in life, which does not have Ferris State University in my future. Good people need to be in bad places to break the chain of selfishness, I hope the students who are teetering on the edge find you and have inspired hope in their future success.

Great place if you are going to try to learn from any of the many great (and a few average) majors. If youre complaining about the walking conditions, youre missing the entire point of being here- to get an education.
I have had the worst experience at Ferris State, after only a semester I am looking into transferring elsewhere. I am paying high tuition for mediocre education, 0/10 do not recommend.
WORST college to send your child off to. One of the biggest party schools in Michigan. If your child is not very strong-minded, I would NEVER recommend it. Im so sorry I sent my son there. He is not the same person and NOT in a good way. Ferris State University is a money trap, as well, complete with tons of parking tickets and not enough parking to make it to class on time.

If I had a kid, would I send him to this school? No. Education is pretty good, most of my teachers were good. Parking is pretty bad, knew a kid who had 5 - $20 tickets in one month and he had a parking pass to top it. RAs are pretty nosy and always on your back about stuff that really doesnt matter. I think its number 14 on the party school list in Michigan, so dont come here if you wanna turn up like you see in the college movies. Pretty oddly laid out campus (classes on the north, dorms on the south) and a 10 minute or .75 mile walk to my class (each way). Knew a kid who went to jail (literally) for having 0.2 grams of marijuana on him.College is supposed to be fun and dont get me wrong, Im trying to have fun, but I cant wait to get outta this place and get on with my life.
Ferris state is the best college for a student with great quality and someone who sets goals for themsevels and is a decent person, My uncle leroy. Wright is the dean of students at Ferris State University. And i am going to Follow In His Footsteps.
A good campus, but work should be done. No one salts when we need it, they keep rebuilding buildings no one uses, while ignoring the dorm issues.
My son is attending. We were deceived by the student giving our tour about cost and scholarship. Second year was quite a shock. Ask alot of questions.
