4 hour defensive driving course, its in reality more than 7 hours.their material its long and half of the information its irrelevant for your defensive driving. on top of that their prices are double than what you find online but RMV forces you to follow them.

“4 hour course” is 7+ hours. Takes DAYS for them to let the rmv know that you’ve completed the course.

I have been in numerous facilities of theirs in a maintenance role while class was in session. I have found the students engaged and participating in the classes, and have even learned a few things myself.Their staff is committed to doing the best job they can. I agree the one stars are just those mad at the State for making them take it.

An under-rated wealth of information. These classes set as a corporeal punishment to deter drivers from making mistakes that got them there in the first place. Yes, the prices to attend are steep, and some classes may seem dreadful. But its not a place for enjoyment. There are a variety of different instructors who may instruct the course in their own way or let things slide. But the rules are always clear. It is an 8 hours course with active participation and no cell phone use. There are a few breaks awarded that are well deserved of an 8 hour day. The information in many cases will sound stale, or redundant as it pretty much refreshes the most commonly broken rules of the road from an adolescent drivers education course. With the right instructor interesting and unknown facts of driving can be learned. Some drivers may feel undeserving of their requirement to be there. And some drivers actually do deserve to take this course. The ultimate fact of the matter stands that bearing with the slides, and filling out the end coursework will take care of the states threat to suspend a license. Most people here are rating this business on their dissatisfaction with being charged the hefty fees that follow with a number of recurring infractions. And not thinking about how underpaid these staff truly are and how many of these courses are videotaped or audited to protect the instructor and to withstand an honest employment. Just as the door counts when it opens and how many times. That way regulation can make sure there is no incentive to commit these infractions of the road rules.

Some of the instructors are good and well intended but this is more or less a scam. The responsibility ultmately falls on the state, but this really does not make much sense. I have been placed in this for minor speed infractions and inspection sticker violations, and it kept recurring because it forces you to go or you lose your license if it is within an alotted time frame.

They do the best with the A-holes they have to deal with. The instructors are people who generally care about the students for the most part. The two women instructors I have had are excellent and really care about making people better drivers. they have to put up with a lot of belligerent people in their classes, and people who wont take no for an answer. To the person who commented on people not being admitted arriving late, it clearly states on the website, and on your form they do not admit people after even one minute late. Yes, some instructors allow for about 10 min past the start time, but most do not. If you come late its not their fault you need to have better time management and leave earlier. I had to take a course and left at 7:00 am from Winchester for the 8:00 class I arrived in Billerica with 20 min to spare. MANAGE YOUR TIME BETTER PEOPLE but dont blame it on the NSC instructors. The information in the class can save lives and is good if people would only listen to the information. Most people are chronic offenders who just dont care about the course or the instructors or being re-trained. they will continue to do the same things and keep getting tickets, and suspensions. until they learn their lesson by getting jail time. Sometimes jail is what it takes for people to learn. Anyway, I had a great experience with the class and it is a good deterrent with the fees and the rules to not get people to come back or want to come back. It works. So keep complaining all you want but the classes work, just like the alarm on your car that forces you to put on your seatbelt before it shuts off. Give the insturctors a break they do the best they can. And just learn to be a better driver. If youre in one of these classes dont blame it on the instructors blame it on yourself and look in the mirror and learn to become a better driver.

Like most national safety places, this is an obvious scam. These do not exist to re-train drivers they exist to scam money out of people. this is unconstitutional and their staff is awful.

Absolutely terrible people running the classes. This organization is, for all intents and purposes, a scam, attempting correct money and refusing service. Specially, the man running the June 27 class. Theres no respect for the people whove paid for these classes. This NST branch has on many occasions allowed others to arrive late. During the month of June 2016, Billirica has had numerous route closures, with new closures added weekly, without any information as to which routes have remained closed. This particular instructor on June 27, disregarded all city notices, and refused to allow entry after being minutes late--while other instructors have allowed people to arrive late (without any documented route obstructions.)

The business does its job. All the one star reviews are people mad at the state not the nsc. If you find yourself sitting in class here look in the mirror and blame yourself.
