Shauna and Shane are fantastic! They have worked with my daughter for two years now. She has graduated from ukulele to guitar. It has been fabulous to watch my daughter grow musically. Her lessons have boosted her confidence and allowed her to express herself artisically. She enjoys her one on one lessons, monthly jam sessions, and the Rock Band Camp during the summer.

I highly recommend Stickandstrum! I took piano lessons when I was a child, but I have not played nor have I been around a piano in over 20 years. I had been wanting to get back into playing and I signed up with Christina at Stickandstrum. I so much enjoyed my experience with them, and now I am back enjoying playing the piano again. I have a 9, 7, and 5 year old taking lessons here and we have seen such progress in the oldest two (the 5 yr old is taking drums and loves it. Can’t speak to progress yet. First time). They have taken elsewhere without good results but have really thrived in the group classes offered here. They love comparing where they are and spurring each other on in the group setting. Nothing but good things to say about our teachers and the set up here.

I highly recommend StickandStrum. It is a great place for adults and children to develop their musical skills. I am an adult who takes Ukulele and Shane is professional, yet laid back and understanding with a busy mom who loves playing an instrument. It’s also great for children. They create an environment where kids can come and skillfully learn an instrument in a fun environment that I believe would make a kid more want to stick with and keep developing their talents. It’s a Great studio!

Shane is a patient and focused instructor. Hes laid back and cool and lets the kids learn what interests them. My daughter has come a really long way in a short year learning guitar! Convenient location, snacks for on the go after school available! Lots of extra opportunities to play outside of class and even be in a band! We are happy here and always recommend them to friends.

Shane has been my guitar teacher for about 5 years now. He is the best, most caring teacher, boss, and friend. Shane has help me step out of my comfort zone to sing and play in front of an audience at the studio and different places throughout Birmingham. He has helped me reach my goals and set new ones. I have learned how to play guitar, ukulele, mandolin, and even some piano at Stickandstrum. Stickandstrum is a great atmosphere and learning environment. Thanks to Stickandstrum I have a hobby/talent that I can pursue for my whole life.

My daughter has been a S&S student from several years now, and Shanes guidance and instruction in her growth as a guitarist and performer has been impressive. And its not just my daughter, I see it in the other students as well. The guy definitely has a gift for teaching and nurturing his students.

Shane and his staff are wonderful! I took my daughter for voice lessons. She was shy and afraid. Tabitha, her instructor made her feel so comfortable. She left with more confidence and excited about the next lesson! The studio is a cool place where kids and adults can learn at their own pace under great instruction.

Two of my daughters and I have taken lessons at Stick & Strum. Shane and his staff are excellent teachers. Their goal is to get their students playing songs as quickly as possible. Im very pleased with the progress my daughters and I have made while under their instruction. Plus, the studio has a laid-back and fun atmosphere.

I cannot say enough great things about Stick and Strum! My daughter participated in the Little Rockers program and I am so pleased with how much she learned in this class. Shes only 4 and the patience and instruction she received has given her a great interest in music.

My son took guitar lessons from Stickandstrum for many years. He learned so much and developed a love for all music. My husband and I required him to take one year of a musical instrument and he thoroughly enjoyed learning theory, songs and the love of music with Shane that he took for many years and still plays in college today. Unfriendly and dishonest. Charges people, violates their contract, then refuses to adhere to the contract or refund their money. Be very careful.

StickandStrum is a wonderful source of not only great musical education, but building community in the Pelham/Birmingham area. With private and group lessons in a variety of instruments as well as the formation of in-studio bands, and plenty of opportunities for the students (of all ages!) to perform locally, its truly an asset to the local community.

We love Sticknstrum!!! The instructors there are patient, fun and really challenge the kids. My girls have grown in self confidence and socially. Shane gets the kids plugged in around town with gigs that give the students an opportunity to perform and show off what they have learned. This totally boosts their confidence. I would absolutely recommend this studio to anyone of any age. What are you waiting for ??? Get plugged in now! You will not regret it. They are awesome!!

Shane and StickandStrum provides a great environment for learning. The staff are very knowlegable and know how to communicate and teach to various skill levels. I would highly recommend them for all types of music and voice lessons.

My daughter is a guitar student at stickandstrum and absolutely LOVES it! The atmosphere is awesome and she honestly cant wait to go and learn more each week. We have tried other studios in the Birmingham Alabama area and StickandStrum is by far our favorite. We highly recommend!

We love Stick and Strum! My son has learned so much over the past two years! He has taken drums with DeVonte and learned a lot! He even had the confidence to play a drum solo in his schools talent show! He is now taking bass guitar from Isaiah and loving it! The instructors are encouraging without being harsh!
