Asked for Spiral perm. I have long layered hair. First, because I had a 7 month old perm on the ends the instructor had the student precondition my hair. Then she had two students wrap it so I wouldnt be there all day. That made me a little nervous because everyone wraps a little different. thought it might make it look different where they each worked. But it did not.. They both did great work! sure it took a little longer than a salon, about 4hours versus the 3½ it usually takes for my length of hair. But on the plus side I didnt get charged for extra solutions or the conditioning they did before hand. Not even for the quick trim the teacher did to get them going! All this the perm was on sale this month! $34. Ill be back again!
I had a great experience there a couple of months ago, so great in fact I am headed back there today to get my hair done again. The staff was courteous and professional and I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to walk out feeling and looking great at an affordable price. My stylist is Nicole and I will continue to go to her even after she graduates.
My mother and I have been going there for 2+ years and the service is A+. My hair always looks awesome and I have had it permed, colored, and cut in different styles. We love going to Regency!
First I go in to blend in my highlights. My light brown/dark blonde hair went BLACK. Then they offer to fix it with highlights. The girl gets creative with the highlights and doesnt even do it in a real pattern. SO I have weird highlights and REALLY dark hair. The teacher/manager chick just says it takes awhile to get used to dark hair.....You get what you pay for.
Whatever you do dont get your hair colored from here. They literally made my hair turn orange! I even went back in to get it fixed and it looked even worse! I would go in to have them style my hair though because the people around me who were getting hairstyles looked nice at least!
Only nice thing I have to say is that the people were nice. After that, Ive got nada. This is a beauty school, its very disheartening to know that students have no clue what to do with African-American hair. The person who washed my hair MADE tangles in my hair, which then hurt my scalp while she attempted to give me a blow out. I always go to Empire and I have good reason to. I did not pay $14 to have my hair continuously shed over the next few weeks. And another thing, how do they not know how to properly straighten hair? I dont understand. Never going here again, Id rather have a bad hair day and wear a hat.
Great school , great people , yea they are students but they super appreciate people who come in knowing its a school and are willing to have patience with them . Its a good school (:

Horrible service,I had scheduled a two hour chair to have my daughters hair bleached and colored I pulled her our of school early for the appointment and drovevery to the schoolThe first problem we ran into was the google address was 10 YEARS OUT OF DATE and we went to the old location I called the school informing them and telling them that we would be about 15 minutes late at the most and I had politely asked them where they were now they had told me and I drove to the location in blaine where we walked in and tried to sign in and the sign in screen said we couldnt get a chair because we were late I asked for the manager after bickering with the lady at the desk and told her my issueI told her that I informed a student that I would be late and they said they would still be able to take us in , the manager told me that she didnt have any students to take my daughter which was balonga because there were students all over the place, she then told me that she was sorry and that the kids were still learning and the only thing she could do was reschedule us for anot her appointment I left in frustration and called golden razor in Anoka, they had told me the opposite of the school and they were very gentle on my daughters hair and it turned out beautiful, dont waste your time at the beauty school they will ruin your hair.
During my visit, the teachers were rude. Cornia, told two student how to do there work, and the costumers left disappointed. She doesnt seem to really know whats going on, its sad really. Just sitting in the lobby gives you the feeling a disappointment and judgement. Itll be my goal to never let anyone go here.
The service I had done was their Rebonding Therpay and it only cost me $25 which is pretty cheap but I think I will have to go in more than once since my hair is so damaged. Id come back.
