The after school program here is great. We didn’t get into the normal parks and rec after school program and chose just 4 kicks as an alternative. Admittedly I was very worried since my kid had only done the parks and rec after school and summer program.We are one month into the school year and he’s already saying he wants to do coffrins summer program over normal P&R summer camp. To me, that says it all… he loved normal’s program yet when given a choice between the two, he wants to go here in stead of the P&R program.I don’t know as we’ll even try to get back into the p and r programs since the kids love it here.

We adore coming to Coffrins ATA! Since starting the classes, my sons attitude and discipline has gotten so much better. They provide great role models for the type of person I want my son to become. He has been a part of the camps and remote learning for years, but watching him grow with his evening classes has been awesome. I love watching him practice at home and go into his classes being sure of himself. The Coffrins themselves are amazing people and run an amazing business. They answer any questions, are encouraging, fun, and are loving. They also hire great employees. My son seems more social and becoming the leader I always knew he could be. The coaches are great with learning how to deal with all the kids and they can create an experience personalized for them. I know when my son just needs someone to talk to Coach Nick will sit down and just let him talk and coach him through his emotions. My son really get the use of the positive male role models that Coffrins supplies!

We’ve been a part of the Evening Martial Arts classes at Coffrin’s for just over three years when my then three-year-old joined as a Tiny Tiger. It started out as a fun way for him to learn some self-confidence, discipline, get some energy out, and let’s be honest it was adorable.Now 3+ years later he loves going to class to “learn more ninja moves” and see his karate friends. My other son also joined last year as a beginner and loves it as well.The time, thought, care, and energy the Coffrins and their entire staff put into their programs is truly amazing and appreciated. I have been beyond impressed with the instructors and how well they interact with and manage a room full of wild little kids.We have tried other sports through other programs/facilities and nothing had compared to the martial arts class experience at Coffrin’s (probably why we aren’t doing those other ones anymore!).As an added bonus, they offer multiple fun, free events throughout the year that the kids absolutely love. It’s just another example of their caring and love for this community and their desire and willingness to help make it - and our kids - the best it can be.

Such a great place! From the moment we walked in the doors, every staff member made us feel welcome. Program fees were fully gone over, and they were happy to answer any questions we asked. 4 years later we are still going, and they support both our children into reaching the goals they wish to achieve. We have made such great friends along the way. To see my children and the confidence and integrity they have means the world to us. I have been going to Coffrins Martial Arts for almost 3 years I needed to get my confidence up and get physically fit after a accident. I love this place. I even signed up my 19 year old twin daughters. We have learned so much. And feel so better physically and mentally.Best investment I have done for myself and my daughters. I have only been working here for a little, but absolutely LOVE IT! Master & Mrs. Coffrin respect and value all of their employees and students. They are great at expressing appreciation to all of their staff which makes it a wonderful work environment. I also appreciate how much training new employees receive so that we can be successful at our job. I highly recommend them if your child or you are interested in Marital Arts!

We started our son at this studio years ago. I was amazed by the staff and the way the interacted with the kids. We have since moved away but are still active in TKD. The Coffrins gave us a solid foundation in the techniques andl instilled a love of the program in us. Our son is now working towards his third degree.

This place is amazing! The coaches are fantastic. They’ve made such an impact in my son’s life. His self esteem and coordination have both improved dramatically in the nine months he’s been enrolled in their after school program. He loves it here and I love that he place to go that makes him feel valued, learn respect, and the value of hard work. I can not recommend this place more strongly.

My son loves going to taekwondo at Coffrin’s! He started Coffrin’s as a green belt because he went elsewhere prior. He is now almost a second degree black belt and continues to enjoy his classes, instructors, and ATA family! We (both he and I) have made some of the best and truest friends through this program. I have struggled to make ends meet at times because the cost is high. That being said, it is comparable to other programs in our community and of all of the value, discipline, and confidence my son has gained...I do not regret ONE penny spent! Could never ask for a better place for my daughter and me. First let me start by saying the other post this week are nothing but someone out to bury their own miserable life existence onto someone else. The fact of the matter is that this is one of the most fabulous facility and owners any parent or individual could ask for. None of their employees have ANY kind of criminal record. Corey and Elisha (spell it right if you are going to slander them) are the kindest hearted people around. They truly care about you and your success. I have seen my daughter absolutely blossom under their and the coaches instruction. I am now going to classes there and love it as well. It offers more than just fighting. If that is what you are looking for this school is not for you. Students here learn self-discipline, caring, courage, compassion, and yes ATA based material. You have fun while learning and leave sweating. They are not perfect but none of us are.

Whatever discipline you’re looking to get involved with, Coffrin’s ATA Martial Arts has it all. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. To be the best, you must train with the best. Highly recommend.You won’t regret it!! A+++++

Bully-free zone where my kids learn discipline, self-respect, and respect for others. We love their after school program, day camps, parents’ nights out as well as their classes! I love seeing the pride on my kids’ faces as they successfully reach new goals they’ve worked hard for.

This place has been such a blessing for my son’s confidence. He struggles with focus and he is thriving at Coffrins ATA with multiple step directions. He is also showing more respect and better listening skills at home as well as carrying all of this over into schoolwork. He gets way more out of this than we anticipated.....and the bonus....he is REALLY good at it! They make it fun and keep the kids busy! Highly recommend.

Our son was in school full-time for the first time this year. For Spring break we heard about Coffrins and their Spring Break program. Summer break was quickly approaching so we sent him to see if it would work for a summer camp option. He loved it! We signed him up for summer camp at Best Kids Bloomington and he has been loving every minute. Our son thrives on a more structured environment. I love that he is learning manners, respect, discipline and self defense while he is there. Great place to bring your kids for the summer.

I loved doing ATA at the Coffrins. I recommend it to everybody who has anxiety because there is no need to be nervous because they show the same amount of attention to everybody. Wish I never moved so that I could still be in the program. Your child will enjoy ATA and will have many memories there. I know that I did.

Ive been attending for a few weeks now and can say that in every class I’ve gone to I’ve been able to leave with something new. Sometimes it’s a new technique ready for the real world, and sometimes it’s new info on a previously learned technique that allows me to further develop it and grow. Awesome instructors and great environment!

The instructors at Coffrins ATA are wonderful! Its such a pleasant atmosphere and they do amazing with the kids. They have an amazing way of teaching positive life values and self worth, along with the unique way they teach young kids the art of taekwondo. Always a good experience there and I enjoy it just as much as my daughter does! One of the highlights of our day!

Love this place and this family! They truly care about building relationships with the students as well as the parents. Classes are fast-paced and fun for ALL ages. Paying for a family of 4 to take classes is very reasonable and definitely worthwhile.

You will be held liable for the entire amount on the contract with NO CANCELLATION. The grace period ends before the first class is ever offered.

My four years with Coffrins ATA have been a great experience. I have done things with martial arts that I didnt think I could. The instructors have been patient teachers but also pushed me to accomplish mastering new techniques and skills. Thank you Coffrins!

Im very thankful for Coffrins ATA Martial Arts! My son has been in this program for almost 6 months now. When we started my son had anger & obedience issues. After only a few classes my son started to improve with his behavior. The staff & teachers at Coffrins have helped so much and continue to do so. I cant wait until my youngest is old enough to start classes in 2018!!

Our son began Taekwondo at Coffrins ATA in March of 2018 and within 4 or 5 weeks my 2 daughters and I decided to sign up for class too! Mr. Reece Coffrin is an amazing instructor. He genuinely cares about the students and does a fantastic job with discipline for his classes and definitely earns the respect of his students no matter what age they are. We love the family atmosphere and are thrilled and proud to be part of the Coffrins ATA Family.

My 10 year old son and I have been participating in this program since August 2016 and we love it! We both just earned our 1st degree black belts and were excited for the next journey to 2nd degree. Everyone thinks they just want money but, honestly, once you purchase all of the weapons and gear, youre good to go. The only time you might need to purchase more gear/weapons is only due to wear and tear; otherwise, I think its pretty reasonable. The owners, Master and Mrs. Coffrin, as well as the rest of the staff are very personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely want to help you succeed. Its almost like another family and my son and I have made so many friends. We are extremely pleased with the service and continuing our training. This is a great place for families to train together and progress through the different ranks/belts and its great for the kid or adult that just wants to do something different. This program can address so much, such as self-esteem, confidence, self-control, respect, getting/staying in shape, weight loss, etc. Im glad we gave it a chance and could not imagine my life without Coffrins ATA. :)

My kids started with just a couple classes a week. They now go to the after school program and will be going to summer camp. They absolutely love it here and I couldn’t be happier with the programs. The Coffrins are amazing!

My family and I have had nothing but good experiences at Coffrins. I signed my son up last year through their Holiday Special. I had hoped that it would help with sensory issues and autism, and I was so pleased that I signed up both my daughters and myself. We have been attending for a year now and I wouldnt take my children anywhere else in town. My son has made huge strides and I am more than pleased with the changes that have happened. In addition, in a year I have lost 50lbs and gained a ton of self-confidence. The Coffrins are like family and they go above and beyond to help people better themselves. I started my journey in Taekwondo as a challenge from Master Coffrin. The funny thing is I have cerebral palsy and I was reluctant to sign up. I did not want to be treated any different than any other student, and I really wanted to lean how to protect myself with or without crutches. I am forvever grateful for the Coffrin’s and staff in how they have adapted the forms and board breaks to my abilities. I really workout, sweat and learn. I am 41 years-old and I am better shape than I have been since high school. The Coffrin’s ATA is family and more than just a school. They adapt to your abilities and you still can defend yourself. I have never felt so supported on this crazy endeavor of mine. I have advanced 2 belts since I started, and can defend myself with or without crutches. If this review says anything, it says that the Coffrin’s care about every student no matter physical abilities. Please come out and give it a try. I learn something new every class. My favorite part is they teach me adaptive forms with forearm crutches. Everyone can do this. They just need a nudge and encouragement from the staff and students at Coffrin’s ATA. I encourage anyone with disabilities to come at least try.

This place cost way too much money I liked the staff, but the money it cost was too much I wanted to do other things but I couldnt with the amount of money we were spending They were a little too strict for my liking though. Sometime I tried to have some fun and they just ruined it.

Coffrins ATA martial arts is a fundamental keystone in my step-sons confidence level. With a dedicated family staff made up of husband and wife team with one of their two sons still teaching classes. My son has stepped up to challenges repetitively that were offered within the program. A leadership program to excell to excellence was offered as his hard work towards the program was noticed in the beginning.It is a two part responsibility - as parents getting the child to practices on time and competition meets to participate as well as at home to practice. We had no problem that if our son didnt meet his required step he would have been passed up on rank graduation. You have to earn it, not just go through the motions.

Our children have not only been taught the art of taekwondo, but the wonderful instructors at Coffrins ATA have focused on discipline and life skills along the way. Coffrins ATA Martial Arts is a phenomenal business that really cares about their clients. I was reluctant to try them out only because my 8 year old son has Autism and I was concerned that he wouldnt do well. I was up front and transparent about everything and Master Coffrin and his wife were extremely patient and understanding from the beginning. In fact, Mrs. Elisha Coffrin has had special training for children with special needs and it shows. In addition, Ayrielle Ehlers, another staff member who is highly involved with the program has been equally impressive. Even the Coffrins two sons are actively involved in the program and they are both a joy to work with. Our son Jude is in the After School Program at Coffrins. I highly recommend it. In fact, the same day we went for the interview and tour we signed up. We started the very next day! It was a blessing because our after school situation changed quickly requiring us to find something last minute and we needed to begin immediately. The staff were very accomodating and really took our situation seriously. Now, the most important part of this review: we have seen a huge improvement in Judes behavior since joining Coffrins! Not only have WE witnessed it, but everyone at Coffrins has too. My son now says to me, After you, maam and holds doors open for people. He absolutely loves the martial arts portion of the program. He is thriving there and we know this will continue during his time at Coffrins. If you arent sure about it but you want to learn more, call and make an appointment to sit down with Master & Mrs. Coffrin. They are open minded and willing to help with your needs. We are so blessed to be a part of the Coffrins family. I recommend them to anyone, whether it be the after school program or martial arts classes or both. We are extremely satisfied and pleased with everything and everyone there! 5 stars!

Ill admit I did not do thorough research before signing up with these scammers, so I want to warn others of this terrible experience. This is strictly a business with only dollar signs in their eyes. I literally spent $400 for one month of martial arts for a 5 year old. There is pressure to sign a contract which should be a red flag. They charge outrageous prices for items necessary to participate. When I questioned their payment process they immediately became defensive and barely let me speak. For a place that preaches respect and honor this was shameful. It was an expensive lesson to learn.

Do NOT go here. It is a very large money pit. They do not do this for the parents, the do it for themselves. I paid almost $2,000 for my son to go here and he almost did, but we pulled him out after we had already paid $1,400. Dont go.

I’ve had a wonderful experience with Coffrins ATA school. They are such a great group of wonderful people and great training partners. I started there doing Taekwando, then also started doing Krav Maga at nights. The way I felt after training and the atmosphere made me want to share that feeling with my family. So I also signed up my 15 yr old son, 16 yr old and 13 yr old daughter. They all love to train as well. I then decided my 4 yr old has to be involved in this program as well. That’s when it hit me. Watching Ms. Coffrin teach the 3-6 year old group completely blows me away. She has such a great way of keeping there attention. As a father I adore the look in my daughters eyes as she has the time of her life learning discipline of the art. I recommend this school a thousand times over. I also have my father trying classes as well. Great family great instructors and they truly care about you in this family. I’m thankful to be a part of Coffrin’s ATA martial arts!!!!! I also had an accident and couldn’t make belt testing that night I was hurt and at home. I heard a knock on the door came downstairs and the whole academy was outside. They all came to me and we did the graduation in my front yard. A memory I will have Forever. Thank you to all at Coffrin’s ATA

We have been with Coffrins ATA in Bloomington for 11 months. We couldnt ask for a better environment for our son. We talked with Master and Mrs. Coffrin prior to signing him up to make sure it was the right place. He looks forward to going and has learned so much including patience and listening, and has increased his self-esteem immensely. They both, and their staff, are so patient with the children and adults that are in all of the classes. They make the time spent there enjoyable while learning at the same time. We highly recommend Coffrins.

I absolutely LOVE Coffrins ATA!!!!! The owners are extremely passionate about what they do and how they convey themselves. I am beyond satisfied with all of the staff including the owners. My children love going to taekwondo class and have gained a lot of confidence and knowledge about the art. We have been members for over a year and I can honestly say, I have not had a single issue with them and they are always willing to answer any questions that we may have. Even going beyond individual classes, there is so much more to Coffrins ATA. I know firsthand how fun and easy having a birthday party there is. My son had his there last year and my daughter wants hers to be there this year. They do as much as they can to make your membership worthwhile and meaningful. Their way of teaching is phenomenal, especially with the younger children. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a fun place to learn the art of taekwondo. They host fundraisers, attend competitions, offer after school care and day camps. They even take care of birthday party entertainment and so much more. The positive and creative way they teach is wonderful for all levels. At Coffrins ATA, they know and understand the importance of Positive Reinforcement. Whether you are old or young or if you are just there to watch...they want to ensure that your visit was a pleasant one. They get the parents involved with their children when they are out on the mat, so that the parents can engage with their child while they are learning. One excercise that we did, I hold near and dear to my heart. The parents went out on the mat to assist their child in breaking their board. This allows for the parent to personally encourage their child and to make sure that they know how proud of them we are. After breaking boards for a few minutes, we sat down and looked at each other (the parent and child). We were each asked to look into the others eyes and tell the other person positive things about them and what we love about them. So with Coffrins ATA being a family business, Master and Mrs. Coffrin (along with their staff) really do their best to encourage positivity within their school as well as within the members families. And the families then can take those tools and excercises and apply them at home as well. We all get so wrapped up with being so busy in life that we sometimes just need to take a moment to reflect on the love we have for others and to make sure that they know it. And Master and Mrs. Coffrin have made it now a part of our lifestyle. For that, I am truly thankful to them. My children are gaining confidence, getting stronger and more disciplined with better manners.At Cofffrins ATA, they also see the importance in recognizing those who deserve it and have shown a lot of improvement in any area as well as any student(s) who go above and beyond. At those times, it encourages others to work harder to achieve that recognition but still in a positive manner. Like I said, I love this program, I love the owners and I love the staff. But most importantly, they love what they do and really care about every student and their family.

Unbelievable and inconsiderate. Too time off from work to attend a meeting (been scheduled for a week) to try to get my child enrolled there and they call about an hour before to tell me that my child will be placed on a waiting list. Then asked for the 50 dollars to hold a uniform for them. With no guarantee my child will be accepted into the program. What a joke.
