If youre going for animation, graphic design, or film head this warning. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY THERE!!!I was a graduate there, and did not learn the skills needed to survive. I regretted my decision eversince by being bought into their marketing campaign. They only want your money! Classmates of mine felt the same way and I feel sorry for them for pursuing in the BA program, not being able to find a job, and hounded by the collectors. If you want to pursue in the art field, go to an actual art college that cares about their students. Not this place!

I absolutely loved my 3 year experience at Academy college. Every course at Academy College was a fun experience. I really enjoyed seeing the welcoming office staff. Katie, the student affairs coordinator, represents this institution in the best way; always wearing an amazing smile, which made my day just that much better. All of the instructors were very knowledgeable in their given field; aiding me throughout the course. The small class sizes are always a plus; giving you that extra attention.

Im a recent Academy College graduate who today, has a better job in my related field of study than before I started my education. From the beginning, the administration staff always advised me of what to expect and kept me on my degree path with their encouragement . I will really miss this place!! Its like a family--my instructors always responded back to me right away when I had questions. The classroom setting was very individualized. Its great to have teachers that are in the field of study in which you are pursuing and were able to provide REAL working knowledge. Getting my degree here really helped me get the kind of work Ive always dreamed about

Loved the small class sizes and one on one experince with my instructors throughout my courses here. Katie with student affairs is by far the best person around, super helpful and caring with whatever the situation is. Small campus makes it easy to navigate and find classes. Instructors are patient and willing to spend extra time with their students.

I graduated from the flight program about 3 years ago. Since then I have been a flight instructor and have been offered my first job at a Regional Airline! For me, this school was great! I wouldnt have this career I love without my years at Academy. Great instructors... made me work hard but it was worth it!

I was hired to create a Career Center and laid off two months later because there were no students to place in any jobs. Turnover of employees is very high and most people I worked with had not even been there a year. The faculty is made up entirely of adjuncts with no permanent core faculty or academic board to advise and lead. Outside of aviation, many students seem to be academically lacking (judging from their resumes) from students graduating from similar programs at other colleges. Even the Education Director seemed to be actively looking for other positions as several times she unknowingly sent me emails on the company server for other Education Director position postings. They now have no Career Services Center and nobody there who has any professional experience in resume writing, by their own admission. The owner makes you sign a non-compete agreement barring you from working at any other college in the area for one year after leaving, even if they terminate you. There is no 401K company match for employees, barely any PTO time and the pay is below average for the market. I have been in education for over ten years and I have never seen a school more poorly managed than Academy College. I would be shocked if they are still in business a year from now.

Quite possibly the most ate up and horrific school for Computer Science in the entire MN region. The staff is clueless, the Financial Aid department tells you one thing and then later another, the educators know less than the students, books get screwed up, schedules get screwed up - semester after semester after semester.Save your money or go to a school where the degree will actually mean something and you arent overpaying for substandard and outdated classes. Very little is desirable. WAY overpriced for the quality of education you receive.

This company is completely disinterested in providing a quality education. They are simply looking to make as much money off of your tuition as possible and kick you out into the world with a worthless degree. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. I refuse to call it a school.

We give back! The employees of Academy College & Thunderbird Aviation all work for a common goal - working hard and giving back to its students and customers. The philosophy of working hard and giving back is instilled from the top-down within these companies; Nancy Grazzini-Olson, owner is one of the most hard working, dedicated individuals I have ever worked for. Her vision, support and enthusiasm in the aviation industry is of one to be admired. I worked for Nancy from 1995 - 1999, and am proud to be back working for her again - part of a great team working to give back!

I had a really great time there I had a few ups and downs and they helped me out and made sure I was ok with were I was at and they also knew my first name not like some other big schools. Also Amber the MA instructor is one of the best people there she helps with career services and make sure you get placed in your externship clinic. Katie is also great she is the person to talk to if you have any questions and she can make you laugh. So over all academy college is a great place to go to.

Very good experince in the Computer Science program. Instructors took the time to teach and adjust lessons according to class knowledgebase. Administration staff was more than helpful and facility was very well managed.

I only give this school 1 star because it seems all instructors here are great people and do care about their students. Unfortunately the people who run the school could care less about you, specifically financial aid and the Campus Director. They will be your best friend sucking as much financial aid and student loans out of you as they can. Then when you finish school there good luck getting any answers on what is going on with left over money in your account, in my case 10,000+ dollars. I went over 2 months being ignored by the Campus director who I was told was the only one with the answers to where my money was going, always forwarded to voice mail which my calls were never returned and emails went unresponded to... Not the way you want to be treated by the person who is handling your money. The classes werent that great... the instructors are pretty much stuck (Not their fault) to just reading the book and or just prepping you to pass a test with out really learning the material. There are alot of good people at this school but the higher up people just care about how much money they are making so I can not recommend this school. This was evident on how they would push people through the higher aviation courses when they hadnt even flown in a plane yet setting them up for failure, and they did fail.I recently tried to transfer credits to a State school in MN and they said they will not except ANY credits from Academy College.

HORRIBLE, DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!! This is the worst school EVER. I went to Normandale and DCTC and they were amazing. This school does A LOT on line, like the accounting program was pretty much all online and I was told that it wasnt. They lie and cheat you out of money. The teachers are HORRIBLE. I asked for an extension because I was in a very bad situation and had to move 2 times and they told me TS because I wasnt in the hospital I failed my classes. LIFE HAPPENS and they only care about your money. Not your education, NOTHING. HORRIBLE. I called and called, no answer. I had one teacher who wouldnt even LOOK at my homework just gave me an A. I even BSd one once and he didnt know. Its a JOKE. You will get nothing out of it. GO TO A DIFFERENT SCHOOL

I am just finishing my Aviation Business degree and after the next quarter I will have my bachelors in business degree and I couldnt be happier with the experience Ive had dealing with both Academy College and with Thunderbird Aviation. I lived in Minneapolis for the first year of my training and schooling and then moved back to my home town of Fargo. Academy and Thunderbird worked with me and my schedule so that I could come down to the cities every other week to do my training and I took online classes so I was able to finish all of it within three years.Because of the training I received I was able to get a job in Fargo as a part 91 corporate pilot before I even finished my CFI license. The instructors at Thunderbird are very knowledgable and trained me at a high level. I cant say enough good things about the ground instructors at Academy either. They prepped me for the FAA exams so well that not only have I never failed an exam, but I passed with great scores. My job I now have is due to the outstanding training I received and I cant thank them enough. From a guy that is married and a new father, Id say their flexibility with me was key.The staff at Academy even mailed me my books so I didnt have to make a special trip down to get them and they even add courses just for students if they need them for their degree. FIVE STARS and its not even close.

Teachers are great but the office staff is horrible and the way they run the school is completely unprofessional, my graduation is less than two weeks away and they havent sent me any information about it, they have sent me advertisements to sign up for more classes tho. All they care about is the money not your education.

Nancy Grazini-Olson (Owner of Academy College and Thunderbird Aviation) is a money grubbing heartless and soul-less woman. She and her group of minions (TBA and AC managers) are backstabbing and unprofessional snobs. They could care less about students and employees, its all about the money. They havent truly taken an interest in anyones education or career other than their own. NOT REGIONALLY ACCREDITED, DEGREES ARE WORTHLESS IN MN!!!
