Been here about 4 times. Each time is a different experience. Sometimes I feel I could do a better job than the students and Ive only learned from YouTube and practiced on myself and a few friends and family so its easy to question if they get enough practice or quality learning time but when you want to save money and youre not in a rush, this is a pretty decent place. Could really use some decoration, a paint job and a touch of personality. The music is always barely audible because of the owner who is sometimes rude to the students in front of customers and is never really friendly to anyone except for 1 day he seemed to be in a good mood and talked to me more than usual. The owner did my acrylic nails the last time and had the student shape them which was hard because he laid the acrylic too think and they dont use electric tools. Then he painted on the gel. I didnt care for the outcome but I saved over $10 so I was happy.

I was a student at this school. He, Mr. Roy is very rude. I had attended nail school many yrs ago. My first school in Highland Park, MI was awesome. Even though my cos records were lost. But, the teachers and the school was very well ran. Very professional. Great customer service in ref to the students and customers. I mention my old school. So, ppl will know I do have something to compare Mr. Roy school, too. Attending his school was like dealing with an Aunt or Uncle you truly dont like. But, you have no choice but to be respectful in their presence or to leave the space you are sharing. I chose to leave the pace. Keep the damn money!

I came to this school for a service and although the nail tech, Kelsey- was helpful and polite, the owner was not. I asked where the restroom was at she pointed me to it and before I got to the door, the owner was telling her that all customers have to wait in the front. They did not even ask what I was doing l, just assumed I was roaming. Maybe they forgot it was a business. I was not greeted or anything. After waiting for the tech to set up, the owner kept telling her she was doing things wrong. She later told me it was her first service. She did great, but the school is run down, the furniture is old, and the owner, Roy Royan no sense of customer service or hospitality to his students or customers.

I dont understand the first review at all. On top that she cant even spell properly... I am a student here. The director/instructor/owner (Mr. Roy)is very nice and quite a good teacher. You get what you put in to it. We service a lot of customers here because we are a school and have lower prices than traditional salons. We do our absolute best, even being students. We have a strict cleaning and sanitation regime and I for one am very adamant about making sure everything is properly disinfected and doing procedures correctly. The only down side is many people dont tip us students because they are cheap, thus why they come to us for their services. Yes we can receive tips! And should be from our customers. We are performing a service, when we do services that is like our job. I dont think anybody would not want to be paid for performing their job. The school is great, you learn a lot, the other students and myself feel like a nail family. Very welcoming, friendly, and fun.

PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL!!!!!!! The instructor is very rude and he doesn’t teach anything. He argues with his own customers. Then he tries to blame the students as to why the school is so bad and he does nothing but lie. He talks to you crazy and say you’re the one talking to him crazy. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL!!!! All he is doing is getting rich off his students. We have to pay for anything he gives us. If we want a bottle of water he charges us for it. Mr. Roy is the worst teacher you can have!!!!!

A school is very different than a place of buisness. The students are in training and the expectation is a grade. The client expects a service and should beware that these are students. If you want a top notch no questions asked then go to a salon. Note to self the client went to a school for a cheaper price and did not include a tip. It is called no class and cheap.

My first time there and it was nice the students are professional and polite. The teacher and owner has beem educating for along time. The student that did my nails was very good. She was meticulous and I would trust her to do my nails again. The teacher supervises so I wasnt worried. The location is convenient and plenty of parking. The school is quaint and clean and appears well maintained. I plan to visit again soon.

The male that is in charge is rude and ignorant. I walked out, I refuse to spend my hard earn money with a fool. I guess some people don’t mind being talked to any kind of way. I don’t care how low the prices are, wish I could give zero stars. Low prices don’t make up for poor customer service.

I was utterly upset but I maintained my composure. The owner was prejudice and demanded payment before the job was completed. The student was great but the owner is not sociable or customer oriented. I would not revisit this place.

Actually attended the school and would NEVER go back nor would I EVER recommend that anyone attend the school. The instructor whos name is Royan Williams is one of the only two teachers in the entire school. The curriculum is very unorganized. He has no control over his students which causes constant distraction. He is NEVER available for his students because he runs the ENTIRE school by himself and refuses to hire any help. He answers the phones, the door, and hes even the cashier in his own store. If you want to attend a self-taught school with confusion and an unprofessional teacher than this is the place for you...but if not, KEEP SCROLLING!!! P.S hes been sued before by former students.

From a students perspective, I really wish I could recommend this school, I mean I really do, but I cant. The students are great, theyre not the issue, unfortunately its the instructor. The one thing that I do like is the fact that we get to do customers and get plenty of practice. HOWEVER, Mr.Royan is over-worked and over-stressed. Ive seen him lose his patience and temper. He does everything on his own, I mean, you own the school, handle the money, greet the customers and teach?come on..lol. Another issue Im having also is that he DOES NOT teach the girls how to use an e-file (nail drill). This is 2016 not 1990,Ive never been to a nail shop where a drill wasnt used, even if you choose not to use one on your personal time, we should still be trained on how to use it. Everything is done by hand, which to me can waste alot of time. This wasnt my first choice because of the reviews I read, but unfortunately, there arent a lot of nail schools that focus ONLY on nails. Its mostly hair and a little short nail course. There is another nail school in Midlothian I believe that opened some months ago called Beyond Basic, if youre looking for a nail school, you may want to try them instead of here.
