My daughter had a clarinet that needed to be repaired before a competition this Saturday. Meyer Music was able to repair it two days early! So grateful for a local music store supporting our bands!

We had promised our son a new digital piano when we moved into the KC area, since it wasnt feasible to move his old, heavy upright piano across several states.Wed visited 3 other KC- area music stores and they had very limited selection and, quite frankly, poor service. The MOMENT we stepped into Meyer music, we were greeted and assisted. Linda encouraged my son to try EVERY piano and didnt try to push us to a more expensive model, though one or two were available; she was so encouraging and kind.Great experience; and our piano is being delivered today, the day after we bought it!

My kids have been with Meyer Music for almost 4 years now. They are very professional, efficient, and always try to accommodate our scheduling needs. From one Meyer Music branch to another, we decided to follow our piano teacher, even if we had to drive 40 minutes for a piano lesson. Ms. Virginia is an excellent piano teacher. She definitely knows her craft. Her teaching style is exactly what we wanted... calm and supportive, but always making sure that the kids are challenged enough to reach their potential. We are happy with Meyer Music and have been and will be recommending them to friends who want their children to learn from the best.

Meyer Music is an enormous help to me as a piano teacher. I have been using the store as my main resource of instructional materials for all of my students for the past 23 years now. The staff is knowledgeable and there is a huge selection of books. All three of my children rented band instruments from them and we have purchased these instruments as well. Many of my piano students buy their first pianos from Meyer Music! There is simply no better choice in the Kansas City area than to shop at Meyer Music for ALL of our musical needs!!

Our two girls, now aged eight and 10 started taking piano lessons at Meyer music when they were five and seven. We found that every instructor we interacted with was terrific. The girls enjoyed learning how to read music and play piano so much so that we purchased a keyboard that the kids continue to enjoy today. The staff is terrific and always helpful and accommodating. My 6-year-old son has been taking piano lessons for 2 months now and I have been VERY pleased with Meyer Music in general and his teacher. Everyone is very knowledgeable and always helpful. My son has learned so much in the short amount of time he’s been taking lessons, and his teacher has been so patient and good with him as a 6-year-old is not always super focused! Meyer music is wonderful at repairing instruments. They fixed my flute (including a cosmetic dent repair) for a very reasonable price. It now plays better than ever. I highly recommend them. (This service took a week- I also asked for an estimate). I should also mention they took special care to oil and replace pads. Im 100% happy.

Our daughter takes piano lessons with Ms. Jessie whom we love. Shes an amazing, kind, patient instructor!!! We also rent a trumpet for our other daughter and have had issues with damage, etc and Meyer has handled it with no problems. They are all so very helpful and sweet! We love being customers and cant wait to keep adding music to our kids lives with them!

Best Piano Teacher west of the Mississippi!

While the people working are nice enough I am just totally annoyed at the high rental cost of an instrument for a program that is MANDATORY for middle school students. Feels like a con job to have to pay $1000 to rent a $100 flute for 3 years.

When I need sheet music - I call and speak with LINDA. She is very knowledgable about every genre of sheet music: pop, rock, classicaland sacred. She knows publishers, arrangers, best editions.

Very unprofessional and did not inform me they were going to run a credit check on me for my 6th grader to receive an instrument. How can you tell a person who owns her own home has two trucks paid off and credit cards that she has accounts but you do not have ssn to even run my credit to get valid information. Sounds like discrimination to me!

They provided great and timely service on the new rental instruments. Always has the music required by her school music course.

Horrible experience! Rude since day one. They made us think we were renting to own. Paid them a few hundred in March to cover 6 months and they called me the next month saying we owed them money. The lady looked it up and of course they were wrong we didnt owe them until August. Then in June another call and they demanded May and Junes rental fee. We ended up having to pay May and June again. Weve been treated like crap, harassed in our own home more then once, over charged more then once, and now were told we have to give them a credit card number or give the violin back because were a month behind and they demand the next payment that isnt due yet. We pay a few hundred in advance and the minute we cant afford a month were threatened and harassed. Thanks Meyer music Ill do my business somewhere else!

My daughter has been taking lessons from Linda Simpson for 3 years. Everyone there is so nice. We couldn’t imagine her taking leasons anywhere else.

Dont get your music equipment here unless you pay upfront. They will send people to your house at all hours of the night to take your instruments if your a day late on a payment without bothering to call it at least send a warning first. I will never purchase so much as a guitar pick from these monsters

My daughter missed Try the Instrument night at school, so her director recommended that we go to Meyer Music. Fortunately I called ahead, we were told that she could not try out any instruments there because they would need a full time band instructor to allow students to try instruments. We went to Shining Light in Lees Summit instead, where they did allow her to try out the instruments, she had no trouble figuring them out (between my mother and I we have played on most of them and we were able to show her how to hold them and place fingers). This was exactly what we wanted, and were very disappointed that Meyer would not assist. Their prices were also significantly higher than Shining Light. Needless to say, we will be taking all of our business to Lees Summit. Very disappointed with this business!

First off let me start off by saying they have some of the rudest workers I have ever met. My daughter had set her clarinet on the table to get her stand ready when our cat jumped up and before she could get it the cat knocked it off and it had hit litter. I took it into Meyer only to be told how I need to have a talk with my daughter about how to take care of her clarinet. Not once but multiple times. I might add this is the first time we had taken it in because of something she has done. Then an hour or so later I get a call from another employee asking me what exactly happened. I proceeded to tell her the same exact story and she pretty much called my daughter a liar and said that’s not what happened. They said 2 to 3 weeks for repair and I don’t even remember how long it’s been there. I called today to check on the status and the woman answering immediately says oh the really bad clarinet. They really need to learn how to talk to customers. I do not see why they are so worried. Of course it’s not covered under the payment plan. IM PAYING FOR IT. THEY ARE NOT PAYING ANYTHING. SO WHEN I COME IN I DONT WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING ELSE. I will not recommend anyone else here. Save time and money and get your instrument elsewhere.
