Its amazing how a simple Google search can lead you to an experience that could quite possibly be life changing. During COVID I decided to enroll our son into acting classes at Green Room. He had always been interested but had never had a real opportunity to learn from professionals. The experience we have had and continue to have with Green Room has been outstanding. Its important to note that while you receive top notch acting lessons your child will gain so much more than these skills. They will also walk away with confidence, the ability to take instruction from professionals and apply it on the spot, the freedom to explore who they are and BE who they are and to understand what it feels like to be authentic. My 11 year old daughter has taken classes here with three different instructors. They are all professional actors and teachers and have a great way with kids. She enjoys the scripts (from tv shows), partnering with the other kids and the coaching she gets. Its been a wonderful outlet and way for her to socialize during the pandemic.

My daughter Ellie has had a passion for acting since Elementary School. Last year amidst the pandemic, I was looking for an acting school in Boca Raton that she could join after school and found Green Room Acting School, which was also offering online classes. She has been taking classes for 8 months already and so far is loving it.I want to give a special thanks to Greg James - he is the best! Around April he contacted me asking if Ellie wanted to participate in the LA Talent Camp in June. I wasn’t sure if she was prepared enough for this big event, but her instructor Mark Tillman was confident she would do well.Greg shot beautiful pictures and helped us with her resume and preparation for the camp. The day before the camp Ellie got a bad strep throat, and I was worried she could not attend it. I contacted Greg and he promptly gave us all the support, and showed us he was caring for her well-being in the first place. She ended up attending the camp and fortunately at the showcase day she was better and able to do her best.During the next few days Greg contacted us to inform that she received a few callbacks. After going through several interviews and submitting self-tapes, she received an offer to be represented by the Brogan Agency in LA.We are really excited to see what comes next. We know this is just the first step in my daughters acting journey, but she couldn’t be in better hands. I also want to give a shout out to Shawn Caulin-Young, Mark Tillman and all the instructors and staff involved in the talent camp and Green Room acting classes for their very professional services and for the supportive and enthusiastic environment.

Green Room Acting Studio is the real deal! Greg has developed an infrastructure that provides and equips serious actors from taking classes( with the absolute BEST: Mark, Shawn, Ellen, etc) to creating a platform where they can showcase their talent to over 15 different LA agents & managers( all reputable and active) during the students participation in the camp. My daughter attended the March 2021 camp, and she said, “It was phenomenal and an incredible growth experience.”

Greg is driven to raise up every actor who walks through his virtual door by using his industry experience to educate others. We met with him to talk about my childs resume and headshots during a career consult. We hired him to reformat the acting resume. He shared information about the upcoming showcase, but I didnt think we had enough time to prepare. After going back and forth about it with my husband, we made the commitment to attend the virtual showcase. Shawn-Caulin Young met with us and helped prepare my child in very little time. He is AMAZING! He has is able to get the best from every actor. He does this in a magical way that boosts their self esteem, and still lets them know they have more to give if they just let themselves be in the moment. Our lives have changed rather quickly in the short time since my child gained new representation via the showcase-more auditions, a booking, and other classes with the Green Room, all of which have been amazing. Great experience! I participated in the workshop showcase and wasn’t entirely sure what I was getting into. Greg and all the teachers really insightful about the craft and the business and help you bring out your best you for the showcase. It’s a lot of work but if you put in the effort it is very rewarding!!

This showcase is legit!!! I was skeptical at first when I submitted my daughters audition to attend this actors showcase. We spoke with Greg before it even began and he was already giving us great advice for her to be successful. Shawn Caulin-Young was so great working with her to master her performance for the group of agents and managers. She still takes his comedy class online. Our daughter received interest from several agents and managers all over. She ended up getting signed with a manager first then an agency out of LA. This opportunity would have never happened without doing this showcase with the Green Room Acting studio. The price for what you get was worth every penny. If your debating on doing this showcase I say go for it! You won’t regret it!

We took this course on a whim , because we thought the extra training would be helpful for my 11 year old daughter. At first I have to admit I was skeptical because I found it online and you never know what you are getting into. We were so impressed! The training was top notch and everyone on Gregs team was professional to deal with. She got signed with a top youth agent in LA just a couple weeks after the course. We also found all the feedback from the industry experts (managers/casting directors) very helpful. Highly recommend!

I had an incredible experience with Green Room Acting Studio’s Virtual LA Talent Showcase & Camp! Even though we had people participating from all over the country (even Ireland!), it went off seamlessly. What a fabulous experience!

My daughter came to me with information she found about the Green Room Acting Studio and, in particular, the showcases they offer. To be honest, I wasnt sure if the program focused more on teaching or if it really could provide the platform for new actors to audition for prominent LA agents and managers. I have to say this program blew me away. Greg and his team have thought of every detail a new actor needs to be successful at a showcase audition. LA acting coach Shawn-Caulin Young is a successful working actor himself and an incredible coach! My daughter recently participated in the June, 2021 - 4 day program with an audition on the last day. Greg had 23 reputable agents/managers attend the showcase. My daughter received callbacks from both agencies and managers! Of course, there is no guaranty of getting a callback, but this program gives actors direct access to potential representation. As a parent of a young actor who had trained for a few years, but never had representation before, I would highly recommend this program!

If you are serious about acting, this is the place you want to go. Every class is essential to be a part of, and to polish your acting tool set, with the goal of making sure you are ready to work. No guruism, no selling of promises, although they do treat each student with respect, they also expect what would be expected of you if you were casting on a production, TO DO THE WORK. So far Ive taken classes with Ellen Jacoby, a highly recognized casting director, her class will give you the confidence you need to audtion, because she knows was casting are like and what casting directors want to see out of you, and with Shawn Caulin Young a working actor, who has enough experience learning the craft, that will save you years of mistakes, with his class for scene study, where youd also learn the things that never change when you approach the work, all while ensuring you are in a safe environment, where you can be yourself without being judge or mistreated, he makes it a boundary of his to not allow unhelpful or damaging behavior be a part of his class, my word of advice to anyone taking his class, do the work and you might earn yourself more than just a mentor, but a friend that just wants the best for you.If you want to be further prepared, consult with Gregory James Blount, and He will give you the ins and outs of the business, how to market yourself as an actor, and what it means to be your own brand, marketing, and inform you with the insight knowledge you would only get if youve been in the business for as long as he has. He also offers a evoking emotion course with specific guidelines followed by a workbook that will help you understand the emotions you must bring to a scene, how to interpret each emotion, and how to discover new emotions you’ve perhaps felt but never knew how distinct they were, and how by understanding more and more, you’re able to bring something fresh to the scene.Lessons here are succinct and to the point, you’re expected to come prepared every week, and every week you will get notes on areas you can work on, to bring your performance up, and grow as an artist. The professors are also aware that we live in a digital age, so they encourage students to self-tape their scenes and monologues, and they make themselves available via email to every student of the studio to make sure we are putting our best foot forward on the work that we do as performers.Personally the one thing that makes the Green Room Studio unique, is that you can tell that they give a dam about their students and talent, I feel like they care, no messing around or running around for answers, yes it is difficult, yes it can get costly, but if you are as stubborn as I am with what you want to become, this is a good first/tenth/hundredth step to take on your path to get there.

Where to start? I brought my daughter to Green Room Acting Studio on an invitation by Diane. Not knowing what we were going to experience i can say that firsts impressions always count. From the minute we opened the door we were greeted with a world of happiness. Diane and Greg are very attempt, knowledgable, understanding and with an eye like no other to know how to teach/coach a kid into their best side. After a few months of being there not only Diane and Greg saw a tremendous potential and experience in our daughter but so did Ellen Jacoby (her acting coach) so we were invited to an event to NYC along with other very talented kids to perform in front of the most influential managers and producers in the NY industry. Since then My daughter’s career is now managed by an important manager in the industry who has sent her some important rolls and it doesnt stop there...
