I really enjoyed my visit to health services. They were all super friendly, talkative, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Dr. Beasley in particular was absolutely amazing!!! She is so easy to talk to, she makes sure you understand everything she is telling you, and does her job very well. I was blown away by my experience.

Tried calling them for hours and eventually had to drive to campus because I couldn’t get anyone to answer only to find that the doors were locked when they clearly were supposed to be open according to their hours online and on the door. They will wait until they are almost closed to answer the phone so they can tell you they don’t have time to see you.

Dr. Rushing is fantastic and incredibly thorough. Ive been here 4+ times this semester, and even though the wait can be long sometimes, its quiet enough to get work done and they have free snacks and drinks.

Good doctor, bad communication from other staff. When I came in as a walk-in feeling very badly, they told me it would take 30-45 minutes for me to see someone. It took 2.5 hours.I was later informed that this was a miscommunication and that it was 30-45 minutes to be TRIAGED and a long additional wait to see a doctor. That being said, once I did finally get in to see someone, Dr. Rushing was fantastic. The lab tech who took my blood also did a wonderful job (which I highly appreciate as I hate having my blood drawn).I highly recommend Dr. Rushing and would go back WITH AN APPOINTMENT. If you are considering walking-in, I would recommend you go to an urgent care.

Student health services is the worst. Waited 2.5 hours to be improperly diagnosed with a cold by one of the doctors and went to get a second opinion only to find out I actually had pneumonia. This was not my first bad experience there, would not recommend.

Always check your prescription to make sure its the right one before you leave the pharmacy. I went to pick up a refill of a medicine Im supposed to take daily (which I specifically asked them for) before winter break started, and they gave me the wrong prescription (one that was prescribed in the past but I did not get filled because I could buy a cheaper generic version elsewhere and was for a different problem). Because of this, I was sick for three weeks over break.

My roommate went and waited over an hour for a nurse to tell her they did not have time to see her and gave her over the counter medicine and cough syrup and told her to watch her tonsils. She went to a doctor back home and found out she has bronchial pneumonia. Poor excuse for a health center.

Health services is great if you walk in already knowing what you have. They have a knack for misdiagnosis and are usually so busy that they bypass tests and give you some prescription that merely manages symptoms, doesnt get rid of the root issue. They mistook pneumonia for the flu and the flu for a cold. Not very helpful. You are better off going to urgent care or the like.

I am so thankful for health services. I started appstate with having to go to health services at least once a month for a whole year due to an injury and a previously undiagnosed autoimmune disorder. After having these symptoms all my life, Cassandra Stull was the first to have an idea of what it was. I continue to see Cassandra regularly because she is the only one I trust. If it wasnt for her Im not sure I would have made it through college. We are lucky to have such a good health services!

I walked in with a severe sinus infection, was seen almost instantly. The nurses and doctors are so sweet, I got my meds and was able to continue with my day. The entire visit took about an hour.

Very difficult to work with this health center. They make getting insurance as a student quite the uphill battle. When the staff gets stressed out because of their mistakes (particularly unannounced and unexplained policy cancellations) they take it out on you instead of being apologetic and taking the damage they have done seriously.
